I have suffered from migraines for over 40 years. I get a migraine about once or twice a month. I get the flashing light in one eye before it starts. Sometimes vertigo comes with it. I feel like I got stabbed with a screwdriver in my eye. Light and sounds bother me. I have to cover my eyes and sometimes put an ice pack on my skull. For all those people out there who suffer with migraines, my heart goes out to you. I am now in my 60's and it doesn't get easier.
Since i was a little boy i saw my mother suffer from Migraine . i always felt that she was in deep pain and nobody understood her . when i turned 15 my Migraine kicked in . i am 37 now and beside Migraine i have now cluster Migraine . what is hard is that nobody understands the pain . and they want u to go out and have a normal life while u can't even walk or see light or heard any sound !
The cluster migraine is it in the body to I have no headache.now all upper body
I get migraines everyday and this video is so true. People say you use it as an excuse to miss work or not go to social functions when they have no idea that the pain you are in is excruciating. People have no empathy or feeling for others
Me to years but it's changes no headache pain shoulders one shoulder or both armpits area still throbs etc
i hate people that don't take migraines seriously, they don’t understand how entitled they are that they have never experienced a headache like that.
I've got it daily but in my upper body now no head pain same pain but not not light sensitive nowadays@@sofiaish5276
Thanks for bringing this up so accurately and honest. It’s my routine, felt so authentic and got touched how everything matches with what I go through every single day!
I’ve had these since 2015, after my transfer ti my last store. We were short staff and not permitted over time, and if you did not complete all duties, you were being penalized. I thought at first that it was sinusitis (allergies). But my doctor confirmed these headaches were migraines. The thing I am struggling to understand is, why are the migraines still here, after the work problems have gone away (?)
Why do the tags have womenshealth but not menshealth aswell?
My life 😢😢
😢😢😢
When people ask me how bad my migraine are I always tell them the following: "Even if Jesus, Michael Jackson, the president and my celebrity crush would stand in front my front door I could not get up out of bed during my migraine attacks."
The frustration is exacerbated when your medical provider gaslights you because they can't see it through a blood test or scan.
AMEN TO THAT! I HAVE HAD DOCTORS TELL ME ITS ALL IN MY HEAD
This is my life ..and I'm so sick of hearing about fresh air water eat healthy ..do this try that take your meds ..its like a jack hammer to your brain ..i throw up for 12hrs solid i cant even drink water..I'm now hypersensative to noise and at times i have felt like being here in this form is not worth the endless hours of pain ..
What you bave another migraine ! those words alone rattle my brains ..as the years pass and my age increases so do my migraines and it destroys my time on this earth .
You all have my thoughts and nest wishes x
I've got I chronic everyday upperbody no headache nowadays
Wow, this is so US ( the ones we suffer Migraine)
Thanks for creating this- we need to get more awareness out… no one can ever fully understand unless they truly suffer.
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOU COMMENT BECAUSE IT IS SO TRUE👍👍 IT IS VERY EASY FOR PEOPLE TO JUDGE SOMETHING THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH AND AS I MIGRAINE SUFFERER DEALING WITH ALL THE IGNORANCE AND STIGMA IS THE ACTUAL HEADACHE.
This felt so real. The stigma and lack of understading is the worst part. I often feel ashamed and like there is something weak about me. 😢
And the worst part is the migraine headaches go away only after puking out the contents and emptying your stomach. It sucks
For me vomitting triggers my migraine even more for some reason 😢
This is very good, Migraine Canada. It is the blunt and awful reality. I could not stop myself from crying as I watched, as it is my life. Thank you for producing this.
I also cried all the way
ok so ill just say this, this video showed how someone is managing to cope with migraines its quite accurate... what it didn't show is when your migraine peaks and you become totally desparate for help.
Truly impactful video. I'm not a mother, but I saw myself so well in the roles of wife and employee as a woman living with chronic migraine. Thank you Migraine Canada and Abbvie.
I actively flinched when the collegue turned the lights on in the board room. So glad I can work in low light.
Thanks so much for making this film for us all ! Luv the falling down depicted as that's how I feel in so many ways.
I literally cried after watching this video, I think this is what I am going through every week😢😢
On day 2 of a migraine. Prayers for all who suffer.
Yes, some ppl undermine it and label it as just a headache. And, the only way that I think they would learn to understand it, would be if they got one. I’ve have to call in sick at work numerous times and am now receiving accommodations from my doctor to keep from losing my job. 😢👩🏻
It’s like your stuck in this place doing things at arms reach from the moment you wake up. While the world moves around you. While everyone is so productive. Your in survival mode all day, all week, all month for years. But its your brain and you don’t want to seem incapable. You have anxiety….your double checking everything, trying to sound engaged even though your vision is blurry and head fog makes you just want to be alone.
😭😭😭😭😭😭this made me cry. I hate not being able to explain
THIS!! Thank you so much for this video ❤️🙏🙌
Very good and informative. Thank you Migraine Canada. It was very difficult going to work and looking after other people when I was in the throes of a migraine. The worst!
Thank you so much for this …
I am so tired of how everyone undermines you when you have a migraine. They are so ignorant
I have been getting these for over 15 years but finally figured it out. STOP smoking and drinking!!!!! It will not take the headaches away but they will not be nearly as severe. When you feel the headache coming you must workout immediately. I usually do intense arm curl reps until exhausted. Unfortunately, even the two times every night at two and 4 o’clock in the morning I have to wake up and do these exercises but they go away within five minutes!!! It saved my life and my relationship because no one truly understands the pain that we’re in. They think it’s a migraine. I wish it were. The best way I can describe. It is the worst brain freeze in the world lasting for up to an hour.
In my family, me and my older sister have it.
I used to have migraine attacks 1-2 times a month, but for the last 4 weeks *it's been 3-4 times A DAY!*
The majority of the time, the attacks hit on full power and the pain gets so bad that it seriously gets you thinking "If this won't stop soon- I will jump off the roof because I can't take it!"
I am literally in a hopeless situation, because my migraine stops me from doing anything. I just sit at home dreading for migraine to start, dreading to experience aura as a warning for migraine. It's horrible
Take magnesium supplements, its a life changer, suffered migraines most of my life, been free of the curse for 2 years now
Does it really work?
Currently struggling from suicidal thoughts due to chronic migraines I’ve been experiencing for quite some time now. I just want my pain and suffering to end. I get the ones with the aura and the debilitating pain afterwards. I don’t want to end my life but I’m sure God will understand. Tired of trying different remedies and praying.
To all the migraine sufferers, keep going. It’s tough. Im rooting for you. ❤ As for myself, I give up. This is something only God can heal ✌🏾
God vl give u the strength to live with dat. Take care. Suffering frm migraines wid other lyf limiting issues. God bless u
Same here😢
I feel the same way. I get suicidal all the time from migraines and to make it worse no one shows any compassion or empathy
Im a teenage girl and migraines have totally destroyed my academic performance
DONT WATCH THIS WITH A MIGRAINE THERES A VERY LOUD SHARP NOISE THATLL MAKE IT WORSE
Topamax got rid of 80 percent of mine. They are horrible. Seem to have been a mild neurological issue. I cant eat well with them. The really bad one cause my blood pressure to drop. Passed out after some of these. Eeg ok but will be reassesed if i collapse again. I did it three times so have to wear padded gloves to avoid breaking a wrist. I stay at home when those bad ones start. I have a quarantine box with dark chocolate and energy drinks and puzzle. They affect my weight too. Im thin 36 kilo even heavier they were very bad. With no meds I was 31 kilo as only running stopped the pain and it was back after an hour. Wasnt sustainable. I like basketball now.
Let's put it this way: if you're not suffering from migraines, you're probably thinking people around who have them are the weakest and most sensitive you know, when in fact they are courageous, selfless and badass for coping with them not having anybody who understands what it feels like.
Well done
Seriously long term doing vipassana Meditation can treat your migrane... You can try it.....
I'm having migraine right know I am fedup because of this pain I want to give up
Ya exactly the same problems even I face😔😣my head will be like🤯
Drilling in my head😭😭😭also it is in half of head, another half is fine. My right eye is aching😣😖
I used to get them as a kid and while at school. The nurse in the school didn't take it serious. I'm in my 50s now and its still a struggle. I get the headaches almost daily. The only thing that work's is prescription migraine medicine. The shots work the best. I worry if i lose my insurance. I tried to toughen up tonight and deal with the throbbing pain, but it turned into a full blown horrible migraine. There is no way i could drive, work or fuction at all. I just find my self thinking death would bring relief. I'm terrified because my son gets alot as well. I worry if im not here for him what may happen. I notice that eating triggers them most times as well.
Don't give up be strong!
I use herbal enemas for migraines.
What kind
Neurologist wants to try Botox for me. Ugh.
Botox brought me a great deal of relief for several years but we are all so unique in symptoms and effective treatment. I hope it helps.
Not drinking enough😂 ... They have no idea...
This hit hard, they started 6 years ago, once every couple months, then once a month, then once a month for days... now years later I am getting them 6-8 times a month and it took a doctor at a WALK IN clinic I went to to get a doctors note for work to refer me to a neurologist, not even my primary care did this... over 10 different medications and nothing has worked. Now I am at a new company and a year later I am still dealing with this... Used all my sick time my first year I am running on MDA sick days with no pay, and just about to start college just to get a AA and BA in IT so I can do a work from home job... It's eating me alive, any work from home entry job is customer service and you can't do that with a migraine. There's so many issued I face with little help... I even thought about going on disability but here in WA it's $1300 a month.... how can I survive on that and pay for school
Terrible feeling
Guys use ginger tea and moringa
