I grew up watching them there were many teams with so much worse offensive lines. The lions were in the middle and unfortunately they never built it for him how they should have.

There have been many great RBs. Some fast, some powerful, even some both. But nobody moved like he did!
His change of direction is beyond anything I've ever seen, the dude can run a 90 degree angle and still maintain most of his speed
The way he stops and shifts his momentum while juking the defender is so amazing

If you have never seen Barry sanders play, I feel sorry for you..goat of all running backs easily.
Oh I've seen him live at the Dome many times in the 90s. He could bring the roar to the dome for sure. Was amazing to watch live, he cut like a slalom water skier so low to the ground his hips almost touched and that was just his normal stride. Never seen anyone cut like him since and I am still looking.

Crazy how Detroit had arguably the greatest running back in Barry, wide receiver in Calvin Johnson, and Super Bowl QB in Matt Stafford and couldn’t put a championship organization together in any of those years.
Well this new organization is about to make History! Also Barry doesn’t feel any ill will against the organization, because he’s still part of the organization, and still lives here, as well as Calvin Johnson. They both personally picked up some of the draft players from the airport a few weeks ago. Go Lions🦁

Twice a year he went against Bears: Richard Dent, Mike Singletary, Dan Hampton, Steve, Otis Wilson, Wilber Marshall, Steve McMichael, Dave Duerson , Gary Fencik
Packers: Regggie White Vikings: John Randle. Sanders went against 6 HOF defensive players on these teams. 🏈

I don't think Barry took a big hit in his whole career. He retired when he was still great. He's probably in better health than 95% of the players who played when he did. Maybe Jason Hanson is the only Lion from his era who's as healthy.
