    Excellent. The title was exactly what I was looking for. I’m upholstering my pedalboard case, if it looks half as good as this I’ll be happy. Thank you for uploading!

      One thing a would do is give a little overlap for shrinkage because it does

    Looks great man! I have a question tho. Do you feel that it would’ve been easier to apply the back first, using the same method you used for the sides, and then fold the sides around it? Or was your plan to use the back tolex to cover the overlap from the sides?

    I have a problem with the corner seams opening up over time. No tolex kid loose, gust the gap. Think I’ll try a small over lap.

      indeed mine did that too but i seams that certain tolex does shrink more than others , i will be doing this as well small overlap

      @@TheRoots72 ah... ok. Thanks! I've tried patching overlaps with contact cement and it's frustrating at best! ps: in places where seams tend to shrink, I paint all those areas black before I begin. If it does separate later it's not so glaring.

    • @TheRoots72
      @TheRoots72  5 місяців тому +1

      I find the tolex bonds better and glue don’t seeps in plywood as much so it easier to remove years later to change tolex that’s why i use primer on the wood

  • @doofwop
    @doofwop 7 місяців тому +1

    OK so what you need to do is reveal what spray adhesive you are using as that little detail matters very much and you just left it out like it's some kind of common knowledge. It isn't. If it's contact cement or similar, you need to mention that both mating surfaces of the substrate should be sprayed not just one surface. You should also mention to wait a few minutes for the adhesive to tack up before applying the tolex to the cab. So next time maybe you should do some talking. This is an incomplete tutorial.
