I saw Bruce and the E Street Band yesterday live in Barcelona. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.
one of the best 10 songs ever written in my humble opinion.
Feeling down right now . But Bruce and all your company brings me comfort x
I was fortunate enough to have been at this concert. It was the tenth time I had seen Bruce live, but the first overseas. I was amazed at the Catalan audience singing along with every word of this song. It was truly magical. So many great songs, but this is the greatest!
I saw him for the first time in DC - in a 3,000 seat theater the Spring before the release of Born To Run. Have seen 48 live shows since. Will see him again for number 50
in Barcelona in April. Different and much larger venue, although in the same Olympic complex and only 200 yards away from this one. Can’t wait!
Guess I’ll see you there then💪🏻
See you there! 🙌🏽
💕 Thanks for your love and support towards me I really appreciate you and can’t thank you enough. Write me with the address above to be among the lucky few who stand a chance for a meet and greet when I am in your city or city nearby
i was there too!
Legend has it no other crowd sang along as perfectly or as loudly as a bruce crowd
Not many bands will put on a 3 to 4 hour show. Bruce seems to do this on a fairly regular basis. Long reign the Boss.
The energy at his concerts, will make you know you'll never see another one like it! I'll always treasure the moments of his concerts. That's why he's "The Boss"!!!😄
When I saw him he went well past 4 hours. The best show I’ve ever seen. I’m only 23 and I realized in the moment I was seeing the best performer I’ll ever see in my life.
On the wings of Angels!!!
@@macwatson7227 And you were right!
Una de las mejores canciones de la historia. Y si me apuran, digo que es la mejor. Es sublime. Emociona hasta las lágrimas. Gracias Bruce!
No me canso de escucharte Beuceeee....sos lo más grandeeee
I was there, it was my first Bruce concert. We really love Bruce in Europe, not only the older people but also the young people, i was 28 years old at the time. You can hear people screaming with happiness throughout the concert. I remember a boy (because of his accent he was from Galicia) telling about Bruce when it was all over: "Guys, I've seen God". I felt the same and since then I've already been to 29 other concerts all over Europe but without a doubt best atmosphere I've ever seen is from the public of Barcelona. In 2008 Bruce played 2 nights in a row at the Camp Nou with a total of 150,000 people, it was amazing again but no like this one in Palau Sant Jordi. By the way i'm not from Barcelona so I can be impartial.
My name is Mary I grew up in a beach town and the guys would race up and down my street and scream my name and my mom would say tell the guys to stop before your father hears them , but I was out having fun and don’t know who was yelling my name. This song hits home . From the Jersey Shore
Glad i give such great memories💕 Thanks for your love and support towards me I really appreciate you and can’t thank you enough. Write me with the address above to be among the lucky few who stand a chance for a meet and greet when I am in your city or city nearby
Thank you Bruce for being a part of my journey on this planet and for giving millions and millions of us spiritual beings your energy, creative mind and songs that will last us many lifetimes! Been homeless off and on for 12+ years but hope to see you in concert one day. Namaste. From a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran.
Assistir Bruce é sonhar...dançar no palco c ele... Bruce é maravilhoso 💘 eu AMOOOOOO 💘 Love 💘
Realmente é um sonho.vejo esses vídeos e viajo como se estivesse lá
God damn do I miss those days. ❤️
Me too.
Uma das músicas mais lindas da história.
Um dos maiores cantores da história 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤
I was just thinking the same, lebarosky. As a writer, I've shared in front of dozens of people. But I cannot imagine this level of recognition. Everyone knowing every word you're going to produce, hanging on for the very next sound you'll make.
And in Barcelona Spain!
every song... hits home to those who feel!!
I cried listening to it😢😢
He is The Boss....... "God simply Singing to us Throuugh The Bruce"
One of the greatest of a long list of legendary masterpieces by The Boss
Take note this man is the greatest live performer in the history of music -not Elvis, MJ, Beatles, Stones or any other act!
So beautiful 💗
adoro este homem és e serás sempre o meu favorito beijos 🎵🎵❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇵🇹
El público del Sant Jordi estuvo genial aquella noche.
Imagine you had written a poem in your youth that people, all over the world, no matter their native tongue, knew by heart.
It really is amazing to hear the audience singing along in English.
I know, right?
@lebarosky
What a beautiful comment!
It's inspiring that's for sure. I have been listening to Bruce Springsteen since my mom fell in love with him and his music at the age of 11 or 12 around 1981 or 82. I remember sliding the vinyl record out of it's cover and placing it on the record player ever so gently not to scratch it. I remember she had quite the collection of vinyl records... Mostly Bruce. I have no idea what happened to them over the years.
The Barcelona people it's amazing - the best audience in the world !!!! Love Barcelona !!!@@jaybloomfield5082

Top 5 songs ever written
An American masterpiece.
As good as it gets.
WOW!
It's interesting to hear Bruce sing with the inflections of "Wings For Wheels" on some lines and the Born To Run "Thunder Road" recording version on others. Really tells us how the song would sound if it was new now/in 2002 compared to its original 2 states back in the 70s
The screen door slams, Mary's dress sways
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonely
Hey that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again
Don't run back inside, darling you know just what I'm here for
So you're scared and you're thinking that maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith, there's magic in the night
You ain't a beauty, but hey you're alright
Oh and that's alright with me
You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain
Make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain for a savior to rise from these streets
Well now I'm no hero, that's understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now
Except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair
Well the night's busting open, these two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back, heaven's waiting down on the tracks
Oh oh come take my hand
Riding out tonight to case the promised land
Oh oh oh oh Thunder Road, oh Thunder Road, oh Thunder Road
Lying out there like a killer in the sun
Hey I know it's late, we can make it if we run
Oh oh oh oh Thunder Road, sit tight, take hold, Thunder Road
Well I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk
And my car's out back if you're ready to take that long walk
From your front porch to my front seat
The door's open but the ride it ain't free
And I know you're lonely for words that I ain't spoken
Tonight we'll be free, all the promises will be broken
There were ghosts in the eyes of all the boys you sent away
They haunt this dusty beach road in the skeleton frames of burned-out Chevrolets
They scream your name at night in the street
Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet
And in the lonely cool before dawn
You hear their engines roaring on
But when you get to the porch they're gone on the wind, so Mary climb in
It's a town full of losers, I'm pulling out of here to win

Dear young songwriters: please, when you write your own piece of genius and then get older, don't go on tour and speak-sing it with no emotion like you're some of Dylan-bot. When you're singing the song that defines you - bring the heat!!
This is one of Bruce's greatest songs but as to the best song ever written we might want to consider American Pie or Vincrnt by Don McClean or
Clarence… ❤️
Some how the car waiting out front in my mind is a ratty 69 Plymouth Roadrunner with oxidized paint , a lumpy idle and a jacked up ass end.
Great stuff , but did you know that max Weinberg and Roy Bittan played on the bat out of hell album ??
I didn't really know about Roy Bittan playing on it, but Max has been one of the great session drummers for a very long time. He's probably on a few more albums that you have
Yes
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤❤❤❤
Reminds me of better times when politics weren't involved. Just the music and the story.
He has written a ridiculous amount of great songs, but somehow for me this is his most epic. The imagery, the desperation, hope, everything is there. Sometimes it’s a little over the top, but somehow it all blends into a perfect mix of working man’s blues.
Heck, he wrote a ridiculous number of great songs on this one album ("Born to Run," 1975). In addition to Thunder Road, it has Backstreets, Jungleland, Born to Run, She's the One, Night... I think it ranks with Abbey Road, Who's Next, The Rising, Automatic for the People, Bookends, Darkness on the Edge of Town, London Calling, Exile on Main St., The Joshua Tree, and a few others, as among the greatest ever recorded.
The Boss is one of the elite songwriters of his times, along the lines of the poet Bob Dylan.
@@CPSJSMSUUMUGA totally agree. It’s an epic album, but my favorite remains Darkness on the Edge of Town.
@@1957PLATO I discovered Bruce in July 1978, shortly after Darkness was released. For about three months I listened to nothing but Born to Run and Darkness. Whichever one was on the "turntable" (device used until about the mid-80s to turn round vinyl discs and reproduce recordings - and making a comeback) was my favorite album I had ever heard. I even objected to a weekend car trip because the car had no way to reproduce this music. To this day I can't decide which is my favorite Springsteen album. The River (1980) is also awfully good. And Magic (2007). You can almost throw a dart.
But to truly "get" Bruce, I think you have to see him live, which I first did on September 30, 1978. I walked out of the Fox Theater in Atlanta that night, thinking, *knowing* I had just experienced the greatest rock & roll that had ever been or ever would be.
@@CPSJSMSUUMUGA my introduction to the Boss was Born to run. At first I was not too impressed, but it grew on me and shortly after I bought Greetings and The Wild albums. Saw him once (Paris 1985) and I realised he is the best rock’n roll performer ever. Kept buying his albums until Born in the USA and then he got off my radar somehow. That does not mean he did not make great albums after that but his early work was really epic.
My dad sang thunder road to me every night when i couldnt sleep. He passed away a few years ago. I just got engaged and this song brings me so much pain and so much comfort at the same time.
Your father gave you a gift when you were little: He sang to you to pursue the life that will let you feel whole and right inside. Do it and it will be your gift to him. I'll go so far as to say that he wanted you to know it's what you owe to yourself. It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive.
I sing it to my daughters too (though not very well). Thank you for sharing.
Lexi make sure you see the new movie Blinded by the lights, amazing movie ... all the Bruce songs and scene in the movie are great but you will love the thunder road scene
Great song, I’ve been a Bruce fan since the beginning. I’m in my 60’s
I'm so sorry for your loss. My baby girl is sixteen months old and I sing this song to her every night when I rock her to sleep. She's always loved it.
There may have been people that played the saxophone better (technically speaking) than Clarence Clemmons, but there has never been a better sax player than the Big Man
Michael Wofford that man we all wonted to live and play forever tbh🇬🇧👍
Michael Wofford like who?
Perhaps Bobby Keys from the Stones , but I love Clarence !!!
My father was a Saxophonist
Miss him so much
No wonder Bruce feels free of depression when he’s playing. Fuel injected dopamine.
You have such a profound impact on my carrier that even the biggest thank you text would fall shout to express my gratitude. Thanks for your support ❤️❤️❤️
One of the greatest songs ever written.
CORRECT
Anon Nymous yes!
Without a Doubt!
it is my personal #1
I think there'd be a riot if he played a concert and left out TR. The way I put it, Jungleland might be the best rock and roll song ever written, but it's not even the best song on the album. That would be TR. Always at the top of any list of best songs by the Boss.
The audience singing gave me genuine goosebumps. One of my favorite songs ever
Ditto. Great live performance of this song. Among many.
I just saw the movie ‘blinded by the light’. It’s about a pakistani boy living in england discovering bruce in the 80’s and really feeling bruce’s lyrics. Every bruce fan can relate.
a great scene. with the friends dad singing along. Love this song, and that movie, so together just awesome.
That moment when every band member realizes they are nailing it.
Hearing everyone sing along... wow. this song connects countries and generations in a way that’s truly magical.
If you’re listening to this, I applaud your taste in music. Stay awesome 😎
Without Bruce I don’t know how I would have coped especially during lockdown. Thank you Bruce Springsteen for your fabulous music, 😍😍
Bruce helps so many people all over the world. Some are lucky and manage to tell him how much he means to them. I know in my darkest days of depression when I felt life was too much Bruce's music - especially his live material - helped me see the light of day. for that I'll be forever grateful to him.
@@soupdragonukciao amico! 🙋♀️😍💘🌅
“Except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair.”
These lyrics have contributed to saving my life. Dark times have fallen upon myself mentally, The Boss has 100% contributed to the fact I’m still here fighting everyday. My problems are nothing compared to half of you reading this, but they’ve been influenced.
This song means so much to me. I hope and I’m sure he knows the impact he has had regular people’s lives.
Thank you Boss!
Keep the faith
Right there with you friend! 🙏🏼

Amen! Bruce and his music have helped me get through some of the rough times like losing my job, etc.
I'm feeling hopeless and weary tonight after the horrific attack that happened in Conflans, France.
I've been listening to Bruce for two hours now, in the dark, with my gf sleeping by my side, and it's helped a lot. He's the Best. Ever.
@Maxime Fontaine The evil doesn't win. Darkness will not prevail. Stay strong.

glad that it's back. Love you Bruce.🎼🎼🎸🎼💙
Allan Wassall every time i see a different version of THUNDER ROAD, i say "omg, that's the best version ever!" 😁 truth be told, they are all amazing in their own right, for an unknown reason only BRUCE adds to his myriad of live performances. his talent, stamina, passion, joie de vivre, and genuine love for us, his fans, truly maintains his status as the most incredible artist on this planet~i'm so grateful this version is re-posted again... gives me the best damn reason to smile ALL DAY LONG ♥️😁🎸♥️
This is perhaps my favorite Springsteen song of all time. I've probably heard it tens thousands of times in numerous incarnations, but hear I set with goose bumps covering my arms and shivers running up and down my spine. Springsteen is not human he's a true rock and roll god. I think my God for letting me live in a world where he exists.
@@goat2558 "show a little faith there's magic in the night. You ain't a beauty but sure you're all right. Oh and that's alright with me." Greatest lyrics in a rock song EVER! Also, as I was leaving the Newark show in 2012 a guy in front of me said to his wife "If Springsteen started a religion I'd join." I said to him "I say the same thing to my wife!"
You wont get any argument from me, I concur 100%.
When I hear that opening harmonica I can't help but smile and get a stupid look on my face
I think Springsteen is a "religion" he has brought me great comfort over the decades. The only thing on my bucket list is to see him at least one more time. Those who have never seen him don't know what they have missed. I don't know if it's possible but I think he is better now than he was in the early days.
My favourite version too.
Don't care what anyone says or disagrees with me, this is the greatest song ever written

No matter what struggle you experience you cans listen to this and have release. A call to adventure. A legend at work. Hope everyone feels the same as I do, pure joy.
Greatest song ever. RIP Clarence. I played a little sax as a younger man but you are a master.
This is one of the first songs I ever remember singing with my dad. My little voice would go as deep as possible while singing “show a little faith, there’s magic in the night...” - I wrote about this song and what it gave to my dad and I and it got me into my dream university.
great memories
Another thing his band didn’t do drugs or a bunch of booze either!
Yes they did but their great
What a great song, and what a relationship he has with his band and the audience. He has to be the greatest live performer of all time!

I am glad Thunder Road makes you emotional. It makes me emotional too. It is just beautiful. It to me is a beautiful poetic romantic courtship song. Bruce has great depth and a poet with the beautiful Thunder Road.
I am one of Bruces greatest fans and I have never considered Thunder Road as an emotional song, the original recorded version is quite upbeat imo

Amen. Brings me to tears every time.
Timeless and one of the best songs ever. I memorized the entire song and sang this A cappela in 1980 43 years ago in front of my high school at Perkiomen in Pennsberg PA not far from Asbery Park where we used to visit as high school kids. Jungleland, Prove it all Night and many others just bring so much warmth and indescribable feelings to appreciate life, music, and more importantly the good old live performances like this that can't be beat. Watching Bruce in the old days live telling his stories between each song was like you were living another life with his lens that I never got with any other performers. It was as if you and him were in the room and everyone else was around you. He is the Boss by any stretch of the word. Keep rocking!
I agree i heard this on the radio at work a few weeks back and have been singing it ever since . I’m late to the party but this song has touched a chord with me for sure ❤️
@@laurainnes8906It's never too late to listen to Bruce.
I love Bruce's relationship to the audience. Even before he blows the first note on the harmonica - he gets a wry smile knowing that the audience is going to love it - and they'll want to sing along at the beginning. By doing so - the audience is telling Bruce they love the song and love him. It must feel good on stage - and why he suffers so in real life.
so right Murray. This is my go to song when life throws a curved ball...
oh never knew, if he is I hope he is well, life is up and down, think we all get the schooling of hard knocks, some roads change at night, different drive, feel , more so when no one is on it, less fumes with the window open , not speeding either! lol >3

That moment when the audience joins in--that is something else. And Springsteen respects them, pulls back, slows down, LEADS, dammit, without trying to steal that moment from them. Singing with the crowd is an essential human experience, and we don't do near enough of it.
I'm from Barcelona, and i'm proud that Springsteen and Barcelona have a great connection.
Beautiful city!!
I'm from New Jersey close to where Bruce Springsteen and I've been to Barcelona 4 years ago. Its beautiful and special city, and its even more awesome to see in this video the crowd sing along to his music

Them recite your words put to song is otherworldly!
RIP...Clarence clemons 🎷👏👏👏💓
OMG, this song is sublime and when the big fella starts on the sax it takes you to the gates of heaven. Just love it.
An entire stadium packed with thousands upon thousands singing along to every line of a song written in a language that isn't their native tongue is a testament to the transcendent power of music. It bridges the boundaries between worlds and, who knows, maybe even universes. To me, this allows me to retake in my head the photograph of her riding in the backseat of my car trying to communicate why this is her favorite Springsteen song through my crappy Bluetooth speaker (and me worrying that the rattling sound of my loose rearview mirror was ruining the moment). Through this memory - this bright flash of light during the height of COVID (when there were no vaccines yet), "Thunder Road" becomes mine now, as well.
Epic song. Epic version. Epic audience. I wish I could be there in Barcelona in 2023.
Sometimes I think he never completly realzied that he did write the most Epic Song in the history of rock !
Agree!!
I may never meet Bruce (I should be so lucky) but I will love the man unconditionally and his music even more so. Forever.
This Song is just pure magic
