No joke! I watched a video you posted some time ago about the Geritol and I decided to give it a try. My hair has always been stuck at shoulder length and Siiiisss!!! My hair is almost at bra strap length within 2 months. I was surprised! I didn’t realize how much my iron deficiency was affecting my hair growth and retention.

Too much iron can be toxic. If you have low iron, you have to get lab tests to monitor your iron levels. I had Anemia before, there are several types of iron. I actually had to get iron infusions done by a Hematologist. My body couldn’t absorb ferrous sulfate. If you take iron, you also need to take vitamin C w/ it. Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron. Vitamin D makes new hair follicles. African Americans, tend to have low vitamin D, especially in the winter months, because we naturally get vitamin D from the sun. Low vitamin D can cause hair breakage and thinning hair. Magnesium, biotin, and protein are also needed for hair growth. It is best to eat healthy and take a multivitamin supplement. Anyone with liver problems and/or diabetes needs to consult with their doctors prior to taking certain vitamin supplements.
This is all so true! I suffered from anemia for years..vitamin C is a must have when taking iron. I am getting iron infusions again now.

@@nbl5516 Yes indeed. Knowing our iron levels is important, and so is finding out the exact cause. There are several things that cause low iron. Women, we tend to get low iron due to menstrual cycles. There are some serious conditions that can cause anemia. I think low iron/anemia is underestimated. We have to replenish the lost iron. It can take a couple months or a few months. Ferrous sulfate (the most common form) made me very ill. I was given ferrous gluconate. It is easier to absorb w/ less side effects. Low iron eventually causes anxiety, fatigue, palpitations, breathing difficulties, and severe hair loss. If it gets dangerously low, you may require a blood transfusion. I I have a folic acid deficiency/genetic disorder. I had to see a Hematologist/Oncologist who administered my iron infusions. The very worst case scenario is a bone marrow transplant. I have a family member who had to get a bone marrow transplant, due to anemia. The Docs, did not understand how she was alive & drove herself to the hospital.

So true having that issue now one doctor wants the infusions my other keeps saying keep taking the iron. My iron is super low always in the 6 or 5's. Vitamin D is low as well.

@@gabbyworldforlife6602 thanks for your honesty, this vitamin works for the one taking it, as long as his sperm count wasn’t affected from the drug use then it wouldn’t hurt to try, I only had 1 tube 1 ovary from a prior surgery, it took a couple of months but when I wasn’t expecting it it happened

Marine Collagen.
MSM crystals(I take it once a week in 500ml juice high in vitamin C) I use MRM Nutrition.

Be careful with biotin. Your hair will grow extra thick, but your face will never stop purging.... Not worth it.

One thing that helps me also is drinking a little orange juice after taking the Geriotol. Vitamin C assists with Iron absorption.
Lemon water can be used too. For those that don’t want the sugar from OJ.

This was a MANDATORY vitamin in my grandmas house. If you were over, you were taking Geritol. To this day I keep bottles. It is one of the best vitamins for energy and blood building that benefits other bodily functions.

So i brought this in September of last year and im now almost done with my second bottle. My hair is finally brastrap length. I went from shoulder length to brastrap length in 3 mnths. Just a suggestion when taking iron supplement, especially high iron I will suggest to take it three times out of the week instead of every day like maybe a Monday, Wednesday Friday so then that way it will absorb better just my opinion I’m on iron right now and that’s what I’m doing and so far it’s working for mebut you have to be really mindful and careful when it comes to iron so I would just recommend a three days out of the week also, you can mix it with juice like a orange juice because iron and vitamin C works better together from the research I’ve done.

Yes please take it every other day bc it builds so fast. I didn't take the geritol brand but I took a brand that was 45 mg & was instructed to take twice a day on an empty stomach. I didn't make it a full week before I got so constipated I couldn't walk. We had to all poison control bc I felt like I had iron poisoning. It literally felt like someone punched me in the colon. I passed the stool but my digestive system was messed up for about 5 weeks & I had some difficulty walking bc the stool was still trapped & it affected my back/posture.

@@bharris4517absolutely no. This is absorbed through the gut. Your hair or scalp can not absorb nutrients. There's no proof being on gertitol that you will get pregnant. You can still get pregnant without gertitol.

Hi Maryam. Thanks for taking one for the team… I think it tastes like very strong cough syrup. I think the consistency is that of cough syrup as well. The trick is to take it like a shot. Don’t sip it. Knock it back, gulp it down, then when you go to rinse the cup, use warm water and gulp that down, too( you can do as many as you need. Good way to get some extra water intake 👏🏾👏🏾)You’ll, almost, forget you took it! Try it. LUK if it works for you. Wishing everyone growth and health in all areas 🙏🏾
It tastes HORRIBLE!! But I will say, it helped me get over my growth plateau. It gave me lots of energy. Only downside is hair will grow EVERYWHERE!!

Shoot! I can deal with the Liquid as there are far worse tasting stuff my mom used to give us. Cod liver oil and sardines being among them. Geritol liquid is making my hair grow, and your oil works fast. I am amazed.

As a Jamaican I understand the feel. So when I heard geritol and hair I cried lol.
Thank God I had this as a child and i liked it then and it still tastes the same. Thank God the company hasn’t sold out for cheaper ineffective ingredients.
And I was always insulted and told to go somewhere, sit down and take my Geritol! I watched my parents take it in their 40s and I took it due to heavy menstruation as a teenager through pregnancies, it worked better than prenatal vitamins.

Hi, i have so many problems taking vitamins. I typically get headaches and I try my best to eat whole vegetables and foods but I know it’s not enough. I don’t know why I get headaches when I take vitamins even when I get. If I do take vitamins it has to be at night even protein shakes because I will get headaches. Any tips or vitamins for your sensitivities.
I had the same headache issues and started eating plain greek yogurt on a daily basis, it was the game changer I didn't know my gut was missing. I hope it helps you too.

I just took my first dose while watching this video and I had to think better thoughts so I didn't throw up. OMG the things we do to improve our overall health should be criminal. Liquid to me has much better absorption than pill form anything but it means you have to taste it all. If I see significant results I will continue but I am thinking about the pill for sure cause that was indescribably gross.

It’s not that bad, I take it everyday for 2 years now. Just drink some water behind it until you get use to it. It does make your hair stronger and nails.

I grew up watching my mom take Geritol EVERYDAY. My mom let me take it sometimes and it does have a strong bad taste but I could take the taste off it. It’s hard to walk in stores to buy off the shelf, you have to have the pharmacy or stores to order it in certain places in Mississippi.
Ok, that's why I haven't seen it on shelves. I remember the commercials but haven't seen it in stores in years.
So I take the liquid. I mix it in orange or pineapple juice. It helps to minimize the taste❤

Yes!??? I took Geritol for 3 months and my hair is almost to my buttocks. Of course it was already a little long like a little pass my bra strap but my hair had grew and thickened up tremendously and I didn’t even know it cause I was just wearing my hair in a ponytail bun due to work. @@truehebrew8530at first I took the pills for 3 months and saw great results but I saw this video of her talking about the liquid. The only thing about the liquid fills a bottle of liquid only last 24 days which mean 24 servings the pills for a bottle has 100 in them so that last 100 days but I did get great results with the pill and Miriam is saying the liquid gets in your system quicker and which it does, but I still got great results taken the pills. I am now taking the liquid to see what results I will get with the liquid again. The bottle of liquid is only 24 servings compared to the pills which are 100 pills which you take once a day
@@NatashaKnowsBeauty I would not put the liquid in a smoothie just because the direction says take 1 tablespoon and chase it with a glass of water then it says take an hour before meals or two hours after meals, so you really have to take it on an empty stomach in order to get the whole benefits of it because with a smoothie you might have ingredients that might interact with the liquid and you will not get the full benefits of the iron in the liquid, if that makes sense so either take it an hour before you eat or take it two hours after you eat, but if it upsets your stomach, taking it on an empty stomach, then eat a little something small, but when it comes to iron, you have to take it by itself, in order to get the full benefits of it now there are other supplements like taking it with orange juice I think or maybe calcium that will help the iron to its full potential benefits. I can’t remember what vitamins it was but vitamins and minerals you can and cannot take with Geritol
Thanks for the recommendation. I will try the pills, because the liquid has too much added sugar, and I have to cut back on my sugar intake.
I took the liquid version for three weeks- I did see a little less shedding the taste isn't so bad- after the first time I got used to it. But if you have ever taken liquid iron you know this stuff isn't so bad- I do want to try the pill version cause my energy did not go up. I have a lot of energy regularly. I'm on to MSM next, which is supposed to be amazing but I do need a multi vitamin as well so I will definantly try Geritol
Is MSM an abbreviation for the pill form of Geritol or are you referring to another brand/type of supplement??
Be careful with the MsM if you get the pills it broke me out so bad but maybe I wasn’t drinking enough water

You shouldn’t take a supplement high in iron every day. Also get your iron levels checked periodically as too much iron isn’t good for you.
Careful. Too much iron, it hardens your stool.
One tip you have to take a stool softener pill 4 hours after taking the Iron pill. This is what I do and it works for me.
It's true that we have to be careful of our iron intake. However it depends on what type of iron you are ingesting.
The traditional iron supplement can cause constipation and sometimes an upset stomach. But if you get iron from a health food store , most of the time these iron supplements are gentle on the stomach and do not cause any problems with elimination.
Mix it with orange juice! That also helps with iron absorption.

I bought the geritol energy support. Fast forward it constipated me. I bought in the pill form. I bought 3 bottles. So now I have 2 bottles I didn't open and will never open. Think ima try the multivitamin.
Take it with 6 to 8 ounces of orange JUICE SYNTHESIS WORKS WELL WITH THE VIT C IN THE JUICE
Leave that alone unless your gonna check your iron levels regularly. You can over load your system to toxic levels if your not careful.

The liquid has quite a bit of added sugar so that's a no for me. But Geritol is a great product.

Have you taken both together? Im interested in the liquid but the multi vitamin stands out too. My iron is ok but my stores are low. I was gonna go back to Mega foods Blood builder but now This looks promising.
Absolutely do not do that! That is way too much iron. You can Over dose on iron and it can kill you.
It would be too much iron if taken together I wouldn’t suggest it

I use my liquid geritol for energy as multi vitamins. It works for me I take it with flavor hot tea. It doesn’t taste as bad as back in the day 1950’s.
I don't have an iron deficiency should I still use it

I apologize for laughing, but you are too funny. Your reaction is the same my children gave me when I gave them (thinking at the time they were great), Flinestone’s vitamins…or however they’re spelled. Anyway, I forgot all about this vitamin. It’s been a decade since I’ve heard the name. I remember my mother-in-law stating she needed to take this to have energy for babysitting her grandchildren. I believe (but I really can’t remember that well), that my mother took it. I might have to check these out again. I’m pretty sure if/when I smell it the memory of it will come back to me. The pill form has a lot of great ingredients, but the liquid form doesn’t look complete to me. That being said, not sure which one I will take, or if I will start is back up again. I do need more multivitamins in my house. Thank you for the great video.

Girl, I had to come back to this video. I bought some geritol 3 days ago and been taking it. The gag is I thought it was going to be nasty, but this taste like communion and stale grape juice, with a lil bit of cough syrup. Its nasty but I can stomach this better than regular cough syrup. 😂😂😂
