- Dexember 27th 1986 and Warrington steamroller cup kings Widnes at Central Park. Mark Roberts opened the scoring, Sir Les charged over, Brian Johnson stormed over for 2 belters, Mark Forster nearly had his ankle broken by Steve O'Neill to score, Paul Cullen dove over for 2 and Kevin Meadows got the other. With Paul Bishop sent off with Paul Hulme (the Widnes try scorer), Sir Bob Jackson kicked the only conversion in a 35 4 win. The last 2 tries came from the kick off. Oh and a certain Mr Sorensen got his comeuppance from Les Boyd...
Les and Kurt were great players such wonderful competitor's
Every team needs a Les Boyd. What a player, a bit of a nutter but that’s mental health for you.
I heard someone say the Paul Hulme was one of the two smallest men on the pitch. I saw him the other week and he's huge.
I remember this game, frightening performance by Les Boyd
@J G which rugby player hurt you?
@J G obsessed 😂😂😂
@J G You have to forgive your wife for running off with a rugby player mate... It's only natural.
Now that's a proper Wire shirt
At times a rugby match broke out between the niggling. Paul bishop could start a fight in an empty room. what happened in the final BTW. Johnson was a very underrated full back, pace n timing. O'Neill what more does he need to get sent off?
Paul Cullen liked a scrap too. That Bishop was like an itch you can`t scratch. All great stuff though Graham.Jim.Liverpool.
We lost to Wigan in the final, a few key injuries did us
Were was KK elbow under Kirk,s chin
Bring back the biff lol!!
Paul Bishop was a top Player
I agree
He played at Halifax for a year or so in early 90s . Great player, never a dull game with him on field think he went back to Australia cause i never saw him play again after that.
@@TheDodger74 after he left warrington he signed for st helens then Halifax can't understand why saints let him go he was a really good player for saints
And i was there
Their was a Duxberry played for wigan in the 80's !
Paul bishop would bite his own arse if he could ,Defo a very angry man
Defo got anger issues that lad
That must have been the only time Warrington beat Widnes in a big game back then.
