- Awesome Permission! The Battle of Stirling Bridge was a battle of the First War of Scottish Independence. On 11 September 1297, the forces of Andrew Moray and William Wallace defeated the combined English forces of John de Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey, and Hugh de Cressingham near Stirling, on the River Forth.

Lucky you getting a permission there, did you get a chance to go in Stirling castle?, your big ring in porcelain looked like the plug-hole on a Belfast sink! 👌
I didn't really have time to stop and see everything in Scotland, that would take a lifetime. But, I did get to see a lot of history all around Scotland from Inverness to Edinburgh to Glasgow and back up to Inverness. I need to visit again it's a great place!
I'm extremely proud to be mostly Scottish. Long live Scotland!
Long live our freedom
Proud to be a Scotsman myself
We don't have freedom until we have independence 🏴@@ethanpasley1979
@@ethanpasley1979we don't have freedom scotland is still an occupied territory .end the union alba shaor 🏴
This is my all time favorite video you've done, so far. The extensive history of the site makes it incredibly interesting to watch you make your finds.
Thanks this one was a great experience. I’m lucky that man allowed me to detect his yard at all, I normally don’t like to bother people with asking, so it was a nice one 👍
what an awesome permission. I love Braveheart, so cool to see a historic site in Scotland :D
Thanks Viviscruisen Coins for watching!
The actual battlefield was where the football (Rugby) field/stadium is... adjacent to where the current (new) bridge is. It was where the English were trapped "in the loop" of the river.
Thanks!
Congrats on 10,000 subs!! Another great video!
Thanks!
Great Job in getting a permission. If only you had time to really open that privy up. Thanks for sharing Al
Thanks AL
Your videos are so epic my man, Love it!
Thanks Rally Scratch Robb for watching!
Absolutely my pleasure friend! Certainly better than anything I will ever find on the boob tube! More engaging too!
GREAT video. Looks like you are enjoying yourself. Happy for you.
Thanks Steven B. Garrett for watching!
Hey man, love your vids! Keep up the good work
Thanks Rens Visser for watching!
Awesome finds. Cool video Klesh!
Thanks Mike Wolff for watching!
Thanks for the video, awsome location, better finds next time.
Thanks chris. for watching!
At 7:30 that is a toilet drain! LOL
Thanks M. Forest Shipps for watching!
Lead and brick found together make sense. Lead was and is used for flashing on chimneys. Hammer marks are from molding it to shape the brick. We still do it with a hammer. I wonder if you where on an old home site or a dumping site. maybe both. Either way, very cool spot you found. Too bad it was last minute with no bug dope.
Great video enjoyed watching
Congrats on 10k subs!!
Thanks Randy!
So cool, thanks for the Scotland vacation.
Thanks Pam Church for watching!
Great video. Even better that its in the area I grew up in. Looks to me like you are detecting at Manor PowisThe area where the battle of Stirling Bridge took place is sadly under housing a few miles up the road in Causewayhead below the monument. The whole area is steeped in history and without realising it you were only a few miles from the other famous battlefield of Bannockburn. I've watched a lot of your videos but subscribed on the back of this and your Glendevon video. Hope you get the chance to come back some day and do more detecting and prospecting. All the best from Scotland :)
Thank you and yea I do plan on coming back. I want to try gold panning at Tyndrum and also more detecting (with permissions)! Thanks for watching and for subscribing!
Must admit I was amazed when I saw your Glendevon video especially as all your videos are from the U.S and i've not seen another from that location even from locals. Tyndrum is nice too. Have you considered the Leadhills/Wanlockhead area?
yes Leadhills / Wanlockhead as well as Tyndrum. I originally wanted to go way up north to Kildonan Burn, but it wasn't opened yet..So I made the best of it and saw most of Scotland during my journey for gold.
Lots of areas in Leadhills/Wanlockhead to prospect. It was £5 for a 24hr permit last yr or £20 for the year available from the visitor centre which also has a small shop that sells equipment like pans snuffers pumps and sluice boxes. The visitor centre is only open from April till October though. The permit itself has a map on it which covers an extensive area. You may be able to find that map online. Fingers crossed you get to come back soon.
Congrats on the 10k
Thanks Chase Carter!
nice video, great to see people from across seas come over for a dig, welcome back anytime
Thank you Highland Digger!
another cool video detecting :)
What a great chance to dig for some awsome history. Now you know the sounds of the uk a bit beter and your lack of finding ancient treasure this time is just experimce towards your next big find. Way to Go Shane having a blast watching your adventure
Thanks TNAME for watching!
Guessing the first item may be the top part of where a wick would poke through on old lantern
Thanks Glass Tron for watching!
That piece of lead was lead flashing. That chunky white pottery was from a marmalade jar.
Thanks!
The brass ring looks like the plughole out of a belfast sink..dope vid as always...💀
Thanks jamie moore for watching!
Getting a permission in Scotland. Nice!
Thanks Peter Scheffer for watching!
I've also abandoned pirate treasure 2ft down on a sandy beach in the Caribbean after digging for what seemed hours....could be retired now. Found a lot of pull tabs, however!
Love that movie!!!! Beautiful scenery. Are you sure the 2nd find was a hinge??? It would have more value if you were to market it as an original William Wallace belt buckle lol
Lol maybe it was!
Or something from a horse the thing u put ur feet in while riding
The first item you found is a breather for a beehive, normally made of zinc, have watched a great many of your video,s and have thoroughly enjoyed them plus learnt a lot, Kind regards Doc Cox.
Thank you Doc Cox!
The real bridge where the battle was fought isn’t where the bridge stands today.
The big brass ring in the concrete looking stuff looks like super old bathtub drain or like a wash tub drain. great video
Yeah it does, thanks for writing!
i cant believe you were so close to me 😂 im only 17 miles away, love your vids mate
So close!
5:20 - Cool, you found "StoneHINGE"! 7:30 - Maybe a porcelain drain?
Thanks Coin Dragon for watching!
That's so weird!! I just got a 1983 penny today as well. Nice finds though. Hopefully you get some welcome home luck in your next video.
Thanks GBM gaming for watching!
That white ceramic with a brass ring in it was part of a foot warmer. You would fill it with hot water to keep your feet warm on the trains or in the wagon. Railway cars were not heated in the 19th century. Too bad you didn't find Boudacea's Horde!
Thanks for that info ! I never knew!
Great vid, I think the brass ring is the hole in a big flat style pot sink🤪⛏🌵
I think so too thanks for watching!
drain hole for a Belfast sink, quite popular here in the uk to make planters for plants as a garden feature or for a watering basin for animals.
the clip is called jubilee clip for clamping pipes on washing machines.
pottery pieces big piece was from a jar and the bit with gold was from a teacup id reckon.
as for midgies u either are lucky and they leave u alone or u get bit to death. inland Scotland is the worst if u stay near the coast their nae as bad.
Awesome! How exciting to dig in someone's back yard in a historical area like that. Did you keep any finds?
No i didn't keep anything from this dig but that's ok I have it on camera. Thanks fo rwatching!
Thanks for the visit to Scotland...........
Thanks Erna Bueing for watching!
Cool hunt!
Thanks Tom Hicks for watching!
I had to laugh I was out yesterday and I pulled out a trowel and a penny along with iron and nails, it was deja vu I'm ten minutes down the road from where you were, I'm just a beginner I don't feel as bad now watching your first video. It's raining and I've got the bug, my best find was a horseshoe.lol
That is awesome!
Really wish you could have dug that target. That was awesome though! The pottery was my favorite.
It rains so much there I’m sure everything sinks so quick
Thanks Dustin Brauer glad you enjoyed it!
THINK THE THUMBS DOWN PERSON NEEDED U 2 FIND MR WALLACE S SWORD;-)
That or an ex-girlfriend LOL
Nice work! I’d love to detect over there.
Thanks ben hoagie for watching!
It's too bad that you couldn't stay longer. I loved seeing Scotland through your eyes. Too bad you couldn't find the time to find some awesome history. Do you even have time to read these things? Just curious.
Yeah I read them all! I did find some great history and had a great time. A longer trip would be OK but getting back to Sunny Colorado is also pretty great. Thanks for watching!
So much bugs and mosquitoes i hope you don't catch something. great video, thanks for sharing!
Yea they were bad!
Old sink the brass ring in the ceramic type stuff , or old bath or old troth you see them all over the fields for watering animals
Outhouses often contain lots of treasure such as very old bottles
That's true!
Wondering if "tea strainer" would fit in the plughole of the bit of belfast sink...
Too small, I also thought it might be a sink drain screen
7.45 .. is the base of an old toilet from a out house
4:20 definitely a tea strainer ☺️
You would mash in a teapot and pour through the strainer into a cup ☕️🫖
Thanks 🙏
My dad's found some cool stuff metal detecting..roman artifacts and stuff..
Sorry man, You're not in the area for the battle. If you are between the Abbey craig and the castle, and at the river. The battle in question is the battle of stiling bridge. The old bridge is obviously gone but there is plenty of info on where the old bridge would have been. So downstream for there would be a place, hundreds of English Knights drowned in the river in the battle, but I'm guessing from 1297 unil now any metal objects would be under feet of silt probably.
Keep in mind before bearings they used brass. Something to think about
Thank you Randy Ray!
Would thought scheduled monument
Never get permition on historical site subbed buddy
welcome to the Scottish Midgie :) They sure feasted on your arms ;)
They were hungry!
Thanks for the entertainment.
Thanks John Corby for watching!
I am from Aberdeen are you coming there?
I didn't make it to Aberdeen sorry next time!
Just to be there maybe chance of digging history well worth the effort you never know what's in the earth to be discovered I have some really neat finds and stories to go with them
Thanks William Grochowalski for watching!
Do they have metal water pipes or septic tanks there?
Not sure
I wonder if there is evidence in the actual water.
Probably impossible to find now..
The first find might be part of an old oil lamp what the wick goes from oil to flame. Just a guess? 👍🏻🇬🇧
Its possible!
Keep the vids comeing

Great show

Thank you!
Australia trip (Melbourne/Victoria) is planned for Late Feb-Early March 2019!
Oil lamp part?
Nice video.Im from Glasgow not far from Stirling.
Stirling bridge is better known as The battle of Bannockburn.
You should check out the Culloden battlefield near inverness if your still in Scotland.

Thanks DINGO 515 for watching!
New sub from me mate.
Baz (uk).
Thank you moodyjeep!
It's a price of smashed Belfast sink from a kitchen
It's a sink with plug hole.
you found some real shit on that site
Nice video.... sorry that you run out of time......
Thanks evertmaurer for watching!
I'm OCD, I would have expanded the hole and kept at it til I dug that target out, lol. All the pottery etc, it could have been a buried treasure chest filled with gold, lol.
I know, but at the same time I was in a dude's yard and didn't want to dig a giant pit. Thanks for watchign!
KleshGuitars I don't blame him. Wonder what he'd have said if you mentioned it to him?
I don't know I left before he got home, but he might have dug it up Lol
KleshGuitars probably, I hope you gave him the channel information so he can watch the video.
At 8:00 I think is either a sink or bathtub
Thanks! Yeah I think so too
technically the 1983 coin was reletively old due to the decimal coinage system only started in 1968.

Oh man i hate midgets worse bug on planet aka no see ums and they love to fly in swarms. And they ain't nats or fruit flies. They bite something awful. Awesome video. And oh man if you had permission to do that field I would have postponed your flight lol.
