You can tell you have been doing this for a while and really thought about each piece of gear. I really love videos like this because I would like to try backpacking one day and this gives me an idea of what I will need.
I love seeing what is in other's packs. I honestly was expecting the final weight to be higher with the game camera and extra battery banks on board. I'm impressed! I rarely backpack in cold weather but I do want to give it a try. I bought some down booties and a bag liner this year with that in mind. Maybe it'll happen.
Hi IceBear- I like seeing how thoughtful and prepared you are for heading out on a trip! Lots of little things could come up , but you've got it covered. I like your scoop for water…great idea! It's really hard to fill up the water bags with such a small neck on them. I like your quilts and insulated pad too. I never sleep that well- still looking for the perfect pad! 👌😁👍👍💚👊☀️🌲🌳
Holy smoke all those stuff fits in your bag pack😳. You carefully put them in and I am amazed how well organized and has its own little bag every certain stuff you put in there.
I just picked up a ULA catalyst for winter. I use a hammock and requires top and bottom quilt. Plus all the extra layers and gear for freezing temps. Think I could have gotten away with a circuit. Summer pack is zpacks arc haul 60L that was bursting in the winter time. 😂
Good video. Think about adding: several packets of instant oatmeal and a couple of shopping bags. I like the pocket warmers that burn lighter fluid. They are warmer and last 12 hours without creating a lot of trash like the chemical warmers do. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
@@IceBearHalfwayPoint Is your bear bag hanging line strong enough to act as a ridge line for suspending the poncho/tarp over your tent to protect it during heavy down pours? Good Luck, Rick
My winter backpack is 27lbs packed for both my wife and I. My wife only carries snacks, a thermarest zlite (sit pad during the day and goes under our duo 3R at night), and a small enlightened equipment quilt (we pair it with our zpacks twin quilt when it gets really cold). I want to get an enlightened equipment accomplice quilt sometime so she doesn’t need to carry an extra quilt on our winter adventures 😆
So nice upload, awesome presentation, thanks for sharing dear. All the best to you. Have a wonderful day and see you next time again. Many Greetings from Germany. ♥ Like 32
Curious, what do you use the trail camera for? Is it for filming your adventures and hikes, or do you just tuck them away in the bush for animal and wildlife watching? Good call on the ointment for chafing. I never thought of that idea. 6:42 love the Liquid IV and Slim Jim's. I usually carry those. Overall, good snack selection!! 👍
I love it! I have yet to try winter backpacking. Not sure what the fear is that holds me back? And also, I was pleasantly surprised with the final weight. 👊😃
Nice setup! I love the color of that pillow. I remember seeing a vid where Neemor wears cuddleduds. A pair of 20000mAh might be overkill - any specific reason for that much?
@@KrizAkoni I'm not sure why I carry so many powerbanks. I guess packing my fears. They come in useful for other people I hike with, but I've never personally needed all 3.
@@stevehueber That is a homemade cover, so it doesn't leak water everywhere between filtering. It's just a cutoff & glued soda bottle top. The threads match perfectly with a coke bottle.

@IceBearHalfwayPoint we are doing okay, it has been dropping down in the low 40's at night. For Florida, that's kinda cold. Thanks
