    This would be great for travel. Although it would be nice to have tiny physical volume knobs on top.

    thx for canceling the app 2 Months after I bought this Thing... 🙄 I guess that's what you get for buying a Product that relies on Software to work fully.

    This is amazing! Question- Would this work with an iPhone setup? Considering it's USB-C. Would I be able to connect this to an SM7B to use with my iPhone? If so, this would be the ideal setup for my social audio content.

      Hi! The MVX2U is designed for use with laptops and desktop computers. We do not recommend connecting an XLR microphone to iPhone with MVX2U, as you can't access the full features of MVX2U with ShurePlus MOTIV Desktop App.

    Good timing. I was about to checkout the legacy X2U one. I'll probably get this newer one instead. I miss the physical buttons though.

      Hi! The MVX2U was designed specifically to have enough power for the SM7B. The interface’s 60dB of clean gain will ensure you get that clear and warm iconic SM7B sound.

      @@shure The biggest problem with SM7B is that if you put too much of gain it´s almost like a condenser mic, for example I use GOXLR with my SM7B, if I use around 50dB of gain it is ok, but I have to bring it back a lot with makeup gain on compressor, kinda sweet spot is 55-60dB but it pickups hella background noise and it´s extremely sensitive lol. So for a dynamic mic I think you should have run an preamp or some kind of booster, I´ve seet a lot of videos, for example like with Neumann TLM 102, the mic is extremely sensitive when you raise the gain to power the mic properly but then, it´s overly sensitive, putting a preamp into it should lower the sensitivity and keep the signal on good quality. And lastly, putting like 50dB on SM7B makes it sound dead muffled

    Can these be monitored on wireless headphones? Or does it have to plugged into that little jack to monitor any audio being recorded on the mic? Thank you :) Things sometimes get REALLY messy with internal audio, and all the audio going on... so I really need something that CAN monitor what I'm saying. I currently use a dynamic mic hooked up to the Apogee Quartet, and while the audio recording is amazing, I can't for the life of me every monitor anything from the audio interface's headhphones output while recording a mic to the computer via these modern streaming or podcasting apps. I can monitor just fine with the audio interface headphone output in Logic Pro though.
    The only way I can monitor trying to record audio via my audio interface, for use cases like streaming or podcasting via modern apps, is plugging in my headphones to my Macbook Pro's headphone output.
    1. Does that monitoring jack you mentioned work for sure, with any headphones whose cable can go in there?
    2. Is there a way to monitor what's being recorded via the mic via wireless headphones?
    3. If I plug my headphones in there like in your video, will it monitor just what I'm saying on the mic, or the entire computer audio including what my guest on a podcast is saying (because without that it's pointless).
    Thank you! :)

    • @shure
      @shure  20 днів тому

      1. Yes, it should work with any wired headphones.
      2. Possibly, but you'd have to configure your PC / Mac audio settings to designate your wireless headphones as an ouput device. Be aware that there may be latency issues when using Bluetooth.
      3. You can monitor anything you like. Using the MOTIV Mix app will help you balance levels from multiple sources.

      @shure  9 місяців тому +1

      It should work fine with any XLR mic. Regarding your second question, it just depends on what you prefer from a signal chain perspective. The MVX2U is best for "plug and play" applications. However, if you have a favorite mixer / interface that takes an XLR connection, it wouldn't hurt to keep a Cloudlifter on hand.

      The MVX2U supports USB Audio Class 2, which is today’s standard. Any device that uses that same standard will work. Currently, PlayStation 4, 5, XBOX Series X, XS, and Nintendo Switch all use USB Audio Class 1, with which the MVX2U is not compatible.
