I’m 34 miles from Gouldtown if you need me to check on anything? Personally, I think she was black, Indian, & Caucasian just by her looks. Whatever her ethnicity, I think she was a humble prophet of God. Her writings are ordained of God, and lead people to scripture which was her mission. God willing I hope to meet her in glory!

What does it matter if she was white or black? God choose her to be His spokesperson. It does matter if you hearken the words of God or not. One thing becomes obvious to me years ago already, SDA organization is not operating according God's words expressed through the writings of this precious woman. I worked for a SDA man 30 years ago, was staying on his property next to his house. One morning I was walking to the rubbish hole to throw out my dash bin. In the hole the rubbish were burning with hard cover books in it. I picked up one book and start reading. Needless to say, I rescued all the other books I could. To make a long story short, I become part of the SDA, but soon realized Im not welcome in their midst. Happy to say, I follow my Jesus where ever He leads me, thanks to this women. I am white.

Dear Dr. B, I have a great aunt that was mistaken for being white, & an aunt that could have been Ellen's sister - both are black - just very light skinned with straight hair. As you know, this is typical in many black families - especially in & around the early 1,900's. It appears that very light skinned blacks were NOT deemed "black" as we call them today. That is why E.W. says Zipporah, Moses's wife was not "black" - but we would call her black today. Also, don't you find it a bit mysterious and convenient that Ellen's Mother cannot be fully identified - but her father can; we even have a picture of him? I don't think this a coincidence. Ellen's "negroid" features had to come from somewhere - they just didn't come from her father.

It's possible that her mother was either black or a mixed woman and with native blood also. I identify as white though I have a darker complexion being 14% Native American and 3% African. My mom's parents were fairer skinned and her dad was am SDA minister in the 1940's through the early 70's mostly in the Midwest (he retired in Michigan). I grew up in Loma Linda, CA and went to Loma Linda Academy SDA School where most of my classmates at the time were white, Filipino and some Asian with just a few black students. Neither my parents, grandparents, teachers, people at church, no one I associated with in the SDA community growing up ever mentioned or questioned anything about EG White's race and I never thought about it even though I had seen pictures of her. But years after I finished high school and moved to New York City and travelled the globe and wasn't involved with the SDA community and outside the bubble I grew up in I one day saw a picture of EG White and it struck me with surprise to recognize her as being of mixed race. It seemed so obvious. One of my best friends as a kid was a fair-skinned black SDA girl with parents on both sides of her family being fair-skinned black and I knew her extended family and cousins who were all SDA and I found it odd that I didn't recognize EG White as being mixed race as a kid because it wasn't as if I wasn't exposed to fair skinned black people and that it wasn't until I had spent time outside the community that I recognized it. I was explaining the history of the SDA religion to a friend tonight who is white and told him how I believed EG White was biracial and it wasn't talked about thought now decades later maybe times have changed and people in the SDA Church are open about and embrace the fact that she is biracial. I was disappointed to find that it hasn't been concluded yet to be true definitively. Thank you for this video. Upon seeing her pictures my friend totally agrees without question she has African genes in her ancestry. I wish her relatives would do a DNA test. Like someone suggested in an earlier comment.... geneology isn't conclusive. Women can get pregnant by men other than their husbands and there was that question she had about what year she was actually born..... which maybe had to do with fudging a time of conception....and no picture of her mother..... My DNA test results had some surprises that didn't match with family history. Like my mom's dad saying we were part Cherokee Indian on his side and my mom's Ancestry DNA results showed zero Native American ancestry! All my Native American came from my Dad's side (who also had the black ancestry). I think it would be nice and significant since EG White was a good woman who accomplished so much if she could become a part of black history.

And this also stands for the EG White Estate, who insist emphatically that she is Caucasian, because they found 2 genealogists to research her father' side of the family to come up with England Great Britain, therefore, she MUST be white. I don't agree with this "looking for anything to support their "she Has to be Caucasian ONLY"...especially as you say, there is nothing much known about her mother! It takes both mother and father to complete the family tree, not only 1; personally, I believe her to have Black heritage, I see Black in her features. I myself am Caucasian, however, I really have no issue what color or race she is, because most importantly she was a messenger for God, and has written us many precious books and writings to help be a guide (the lesser light to the greater light, the Bible) until Jesus returns again, which is imminent!

I do not think there could be much doubt that she definitely had some biracial qualities within her genes. In light of all that was going on at the time, can you imagine the bedlam that would have occurred if it was known overtly that she was black? It was for her safety, as well as the safety of others, that the possibility of her being of another race was quelled as much as possible. One can only imagine even today, if this was to be revealed, more than likely, many of her ratings would’ve been either discounted, or even eradicated, simply because of her possible biracial nature. interestingly enough, once again that there are no pictures of her mother, I wonder why?

@@speaktruth8322 . I agree with you. I will repeat my post, as it seems not to populate as yet:
The matter of ethnicity has importance. Much so for us who cares for it.
On 14:00 on the video the genealogy of EGW is given. In light of the strong conclusions made that White is white, this conclusions are drawn amidst the missing links.
The first is of the missing photo of her mother.
The second is of the uncertain birth year, which strongly favour a hidden and unrecorded birth, for whatever reason.
Thirdly, as stated at 14:00, that there are five blank great-great-grand-parents' positions.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck.
I think the video is well presented, but coming from the SDA group, independence and neutrality is questioned. Albeit my doubts about the conclusive commitments about her whiteness, with glaring missing pieces. The (hidden?) missing pieces of key genealogy.
The very basis of the SDA's existence is pivoting on this issue. Not whether she was black or white, but if she was of mixed blood.
Any person distancing himself from the Biblical standard regarding a bustard child, by default distance himself from God and the Bible.
So, yes, her ancestry is important for us who cares.
In my conclusion, Mrs.White is non-white on her own classification and of mixed origins given the glaring missing links.

There is the missing photo of her mother that will immediately indicate what race she was.
The second is of the uncertainty of her birth year, which could open up searches when to search for where she was born. The convenience of the missing information strongly favour a hidden and unrecorded birth. It is another trait of Black population of the era.
Thirdly, as stated at 14:00, that there are also five blank great-great-grand-parents' positions. Such missing information is more common among black populations and slaves that came from Africa.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck.
I think the video is well presented, but coming from the SDA group, independence and neutrality are questioned. Thus, these are my doubts about the presenter's "conclusively" commitments about her whiteness; respite glaring missing pieces of evidence that would truly be evidence one way of the other. The (hidden?) missing pieces of key genealogy can not be ignored.
The very basis of the SDA's existence is pivoting on this issue. Not whether she was black or white, but if she was of mixed blood.
Any person distancing himself from the Biblical standard regarding a child of mix origins, by default distance himself from God and the Bible.
So, yes, her ancestry is important for us who cares.
In my conclusion, Mrs.White is non-white on her own classification and of mixed origins. The missing links coupled with facial features combined indicate mixed origins, and there is no proof to prove another origin - and no evidence to support the claim that she could be white.

If you ask this for a Jew, as misguided as they are, they too will answer yes. If you ask this for a Muslim, they may too answer yes. Race is imperative as a mixed race is by degree of Alhym excluded to the fourth generation. Other verses speak of people being excluded to the 1000th generation. @@terrygreenman1540 You are one of those shameless criminals that troll these sites and defame the late Ellen G White. But I pray that Jesus will work for someone's salvation what Satan intended to do through you.
The full sentence reads, "The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty, yet Christ and the Father are one." (Pg 150 [1129].
Satan moved you to reject the entire paragraph preceding the one you purposefully misquoted from, which follows:-
"Christ left His position in the heavenly courts, and came to this earth to live the life of human beings. This sacrifice He made in order to show that Satan’s charge against God is false-that it is possible for man to obey the laws of God’s kingdom. Equal with the Father, honored and adored by the angels, in our behalf Christ humbled Himself, and came to this earth to live a life of lowliness and poverty-to be a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Yet the stamp of divinity was upon His humanity. He came as a divine Teacher, to uplift human beings, to increase their physical, mental, and spiritual efficiency."
Other meaningful quotes from the same chapter:-
“1-3 (Proverbs 8:22-27; Romans 9:5; Philippians 2:6; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:8). The Eternity of Christ-If Christ made all things, He existed before all things. The words spoken in regard to this are so decisive that no one need be left in doubt. Christ was God essentially, and in the highest sense. He was with God from all eternity. God over all, blessed forevermore.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, existed from
eternity, a distinct person, yet one with the Father. He was the
surpassing glory of heaven. He was the commander of the heavenly intelligences, and the adoring homage of the angels was received by Him as His right. This was no robbery of God [Proverbs 8:22-27 quoted]." (Page 144 [1126])
"(Matthew 27:54; 1 Timothy 3:16.) But although Christ’s divine glory was for a time veiled and eclipsed by His assuming humanity, yet He did not cease to be God when He became man. The human did not take the place of the divine, nor the divine of the human. This is the mystery of godliness. The two expressions “human” and “divine” were, in Christ, closely and inseparably one, and yet they had a distinct individuality. Though Christ humbled Himself to become man, the Godhead was still His own. His deity could not be lost while He stood faithful and true to His loyalty. (Page 149 [1129])

How is that putting priorities in order for all nations? She had no empathy for the racism against all non whites. If god was indeed talking to her, why would she not address the inequities, intolerance, and injustice of the times in which she was extensively writing? She was extremely petty concerning things she wanted to criticize, yet completely bypassed the fact that millions were being slaughtered by the racism in America. Are you referring to the 28 fundamental beliefs of the SDA church? or Rather the testimonies in her writings as the most prolific non-fictional female writer of modern times? I am curious as to the specifics of your attempted smear? Is this a hatred of her person? Her writings? Her denomination? Come right out and say. Be Bold and stand on your beliefs. White was kin to the Blendwrights and Dickersons. Where did he get all his information. Was this discussed at length? What did he say when you and others talked to him about finding out that EGWhite did not have any black connections. I don't recall you addressing this. You didn't even discuss where he got his information. I'm sure Elder Dudley did extensive research before publishing his book. Of course , it was white people that did the geneology for her. They don't want her to be black. Many white adventist would probably leave the church. We black people know our black people, no matter how white looking, even with blonde hair and blue eyes. EG White has a black heritage, I don't care what you or any one else says. When I first saw this video, I felt that you had a dislike for Elder Dudley to take white man's findings over what his findings were and to publish this. You didn't even discuss where he got his information that is pubished in his book. Maybe you should consider highering Henry Louis Gates Jr to look into the geneology of EG White. Aside from that, I'm pretty doubtful (which is an understatement) that James and Ellen were chased away from many places b/c of their bi-racial marriage. I’m 70, disassociated from the church about age 24.
It is so nice not to be involved in all the controversies in the SDA circles all these years!
There are so many issues that are relevant these days.
History is history. I love history, and have come to understand that about 95 % of what we learned was biased, jilted, and provided no context….about EVERYTHING.
But now, as an atheist, religion seems to be nothing more than a quest for power.
    All religion!
I believe people create their god in the image that they conceive, mostly of their own conclusions. If they despise homosexuality…so does their god.
If they are racist or believe archaic rules…so does their god.
If they believe humanity will be in a heaven or hell…so does their god.
    Etc. etc. etc.
Right down to legalistic rules of approved sabbath activities, reading material, and music…their god does exactly as they do.
I believe religion kills vibrant childhood development. The young are trained to be like mom and dad instead of observing and concluding. I’ve watched entire families go down the path of following a grandparents beliefs, through two generations, and the young in each family despising their forced childhood experiences. They were Indoctrinated full blown attending multiple services, everlasting sermons, and restricted activities to the point they despise parents, aunts, and uncles.
Children should not be forced to listen to unpleasant sermons that repeat the same traditions of belief OVER AND OVER AND OVER. They grow into adults hating all that, yet believing it. This makes them resent all of it and suffer from guilt over unattainable goals.
Adventist, Pentacostals, Nazarene…it doesn’t matter, the results are always the same.
For instance Adventists are inundated with “the Sabbath is such a joy, a day of rest”, the adults repeat this in church, then go home for a guilt afternoon of napping while the teens are bored stiff, looking forward to sundown to be free from the burden.
All religions have their stern restrictions that young people resent.
I guess I’ll leave it at that.

He blamed his dad. The other boy who become very successful in life also was interviewed. He said it's because of his dad, he decided not to follow in his dad's footsteps. Don't confuse the bible with tradition. The bible is written by holy men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God reveals Himself and His will and The plan of redemption through this word. Because He is a God of love He does not force. Through the Holy Spirit He is saying to you, choose this day who you shall serve in the struggle between good and evil, between God and Satan.
