The first Giant wolf is actually the same one from the Gravetender fight, which is why it disapears at half health. You can find it twice before the boss fight, and when you fight the boss has it lower health if you beat it in those locations first.

If you went to the chapel before going to the Corvian Settlement he would have introduced himself to you.
Also, take note of the red hooded person who sent you to the painting earlier in the game, Slave Knight Gael, he will be of immense significance to the lore.

Friede is Yuria's elder sister - that's why she knows about you being the lord of hollows.
Black flame is the power of darkness, power of hollows, power of abyss, power of Londor (land of hollows) etc. Since she is the founder of church of hollows and an ash, like yourself it makes sense why she uses it during third phase.
Btw you should probably cut the second DLC in two parts - first part after the boss just before entering ringed city. Or, considering a certain optional boss in ringed city - feel free to cut in three or four parts as you see fit 😂
More specifically, Black Flame is a power ðat originates from ðe Abyss, while ðe Abyss probably originated from ðe Dark.

Friede's third phase never gets old. The surprise of it, the visuals of the blackflame tornado and the music all come together on that fight.
Trust me, you'll want to split up the next DLC into more than one video. It's longer and, bosses apart, much harder than this one. Also won't have to work on the editing so much.
Well done on Sister Friede! You hanged on there and fought and kept going at it, the true mark of a Souls player.
She is definitely hard. There seem to be no windows on the 3d phase (there are, but few), you just have to be agressive, she can get staggered so you can interrupt her attacks (careful you have stamina to roll after attacking though).

The 3rd phase after the you get the slab tricks you and starts over. Probably the most epic moment in all of souls games just for that.
I personally like videos like this length wise. We can split it up on our own but it’s nice just binging the whole thing for people wanting it.

Shooting freide with arrows was very effective for me. The arrows still show up sticking out of her when she goes invisible, so you can still see where she is

Friede really is a crazy boss, her in my Souls level 1 playthrough was the hardest challenge i ever had in any fromsoft game.
Mine was dancer took me 5 days😂 but I guess that also have to do with my level cause I'm under level that time and friede took me 7 hours second hardest for me

I think Sister Friede is my favorite Souls fight ever. So ridiculously difficult yet so badass and still pretty fair if you study her and pace yourself properly. Not like Malenia who just feels over the top cheesy. And that fake out with the 3rd phase is just one of the wildest experiences in any of these games for me 😅So fun to watch people have their minds blown and hearts crushed by it. A truly primo Soulsbourne experience. You're definitely a person reborn after you make it through her dark flame.

I also beat her SL1 and it was one of the best experinces i've ever had in gaming.
The boss after this tho.. that was just pure pain and frustration.
@@matiasgago Took me 130 tries on SL1 :D Pontiff took 120 (you can parry him, which makes it rather easy, but no parry is something else) and Soul of Cinder took the most - 168. Due to his enormous moveset and timings...
If you ever do SL1, you learn SO MUCH about the game and about the bosses, SL1 is where you truly see all their details and afterwards appreciate them even more, seeing them in a completely new light.

To this day, Friede is still my favorite boss fight, even with the ptsd lol. This whole dlc is like a Elden Ring beta test, theres similarities everywhere, and I can't help but think how sick a Malenia/Miquella three phase boss fight would have been.

I always wore the Old Sage's Blindfold (the headwrap) with the Nameless King Armor. It matches the tattered parts of the armor and gives it sort of a Mummy King look.

I think it's pretty fair to say that Friede is the hardest part of the game, both DLCs included. If you can do this, you can do the Ringed City.

@@lukegoodings7246 I know these games are subjective, but Gael is a pretty easy boss and Midir is tough but simpler than Friede. Friede's third phase is absolutely insane to have to do after her other two phases.

2nd phase: "What is going on? Who do I hit? Please God, let it be the end"
3rd Phase: "Why? Just why? How is this possible? How will I ever do this? So unfair. This shizz should be illegal, man" 🤣🤣🤣

You should now beat the game before entering the next DLC which is the other bonfire at the arena. The next DLC will need to be in more than 1 episodes due to it being considerably longer than the first DLC. And one of the bosses will have as I consider THE best OST out of all the games. GL!

Your third phase experience can best ve described as "Man runs away from crazy nun for 15 minutes around a small room"
I was fighting Sister Friede yesterday and my 10 years-old cousin was watching the fight beside me. When the second phase ended with Titanite Slab showing on the screen I was 100% sure that I had won. I jumped out of my couch and went to the kitchen to have a glass of water but then suddenly I heard a scream back in my room. It was my cousin yelling '' Oh no! Bitch is still alive! ''
The exact moment Mati realizes the fight was not over after the second phase... So many memories came back to me lol
Remember to do EXACTLY what you thought about finishing the other DLC and coming back to the Painted World of Ariandel and talking to the painter...
And, in my opinion, I don't mind waiting for a full movie like this one

@@liquid1514 You can summon Slave Knight Gael. Can be summoned in the Painted World of Ariandel, before the Sister Friede boss fight, in the corner just to the left of the sliding altar. When summoned he will appear for Phase 2 of the boss fight. Can be summoned even if not embered
