    Kishane has never ran rounds before until this year. So he had to get that practice of how to do it. Even his last race where he ran 9.91, I'm positive his coach also told him to take control of the race and then shut it down. Its practice for him on how to shut down and run rounds. Last year he did a great job running through the line in every race. I'm sure he'll be fine doing that now. Best of luck to him.

    Great explanation of: 1) The difference the pressure of an Olympic finals w/ a 100 thousand ppl in the stadium & the world watching 2) When you’re not used to being ran down all year & someone finally runs u down. Casual fans who just look at times don’t understand how that can impact a Kishane who hasn’t done it on the big stage yet. Versus guys who have already proven they can handle that anxiety & still win 🥇

    Coming back to rewatch this discussion after the 100m in Paris and they were so right. Kishane was used to shutting it down with 30m to go and that's when Noah is accelerating and pushing forward. Kishane is not used to people keeping up with him 70 m into the race. And he wasn't used to 1000k people watching him in the crowd. That is why Noah edged him out in the photo finish -- experience. He's learned several important lessons from this race and he will get better. Great things are ahead for Kishane in the 100m.

    The way Kishane runs remind me of NFL running backs like Edgerrin James and Ricky Williams, you could see the immense power Kishane has when ran 9.85 against Coleman closing the distance. During slow-mo replay, it looked like some of his competitors were standing still.

    • @TheoOJamaloO1
      @TheoOJamaloO1 Місяць тому +4

      He didn't close the distance it just looks like it because he was in lane 10 and the angle. Coleman's 60m split in that race was 6.38 and Kishane split 6.40 so he was right behind Coleman. Kishane is great starter and has learned to maintain his speed. These two things together and you get 9.7

    Very good debate. They asked and discussed every aspect that I would had questioned 👍
    The crowd and media at the Olympics can be very fickle, cheering and profiling who they consider the most famous athlete.
    The Jamaican has more ability but if I were Noah Lyles, I would work the crowd. Test him. Let's see if he has the mental fortitude to deal with 80 thousand people screaming Lyles. There won't be as many Jamaicans present as at previous games to give Kishane Thompson that home away from home experience.
    If Lyles tries to rely on ability, Thompson will beat him.I think that Kishane Thompson will run low 9.7s or high 9.6s
    By the way I have no preference over either athlete.

    It is a good question. Kishane is running these insane times running easy. I wonder if he will run this fast if someone, like a Coleman, gets way out on him and he has to try harder to catch the person. @@TAM.w39 Right, I’m aware of this, and I also have been looking out for him myself. I think the issue is the amount of improvement he had overnight that’s been a question for everyone. It’s all so much so fast, but I do know Kishane has shown previously he is a strong finisher. I am one of those nuts who actually pays very close attention to all the athletes, so I was well aware of and awaiting his presence…I just didn’t expect this from him.

      @@fantasybaby007 I know…I was using Colman’s start as an example only. The point is, if someone jumps way out on him, what’s he gonna do? We see how even Jeter couldn’t catch Shelly Anne lots of times, when she was much faster than Shelly. When folks jump out on you, you’ve gotta know how to respond to that or it will get in your head and make you panic…eventually running much slower overall. Interestingly, Coleman jumped out on him last year and he couldn’t catch him. I’m just curious to see where his brain is.
