Helsinki - 12x Kone Escalator ride (SUPER RELAXING!) at Airport underground metro station exit 2.

Super relaxing! Some proper sleep therapy….
We take a POV ride on 12x Kone escalators (TransitMaster 140) at the second exit to the commuter railway station for Helsinki Vantaa Airport. Here there are almost no people about as this is not a main exit, and they play some really relaxing sounds throughout this station.

**This exit is at the further end of the tracks from the airport terminal, up a separate set of escalators then along a tunnel. You can use this entrance to access some of the car parks or bus services. So in total, this entrance has 15 escalators and the other has 9 - but some of those at the main entrance are much taller individually! You can also see a couple of lifts here - they are nice Kone Monospace lifts. The other side has a beautiful set of 4 with totally exposed shafts…
These escalators were installed in 2013-14. Originally this entrance opened first and for a while they provided a shuttle bus to access the terminal, while the other entrance was being completed. Now, the terminal itself has undergone a complete transformation and the other (main) exit has changed again. Previously there was one set of 3 very long 2015 Kone escalators upto the terminal - entrance was into terminal 1 which is now shut off. So they’ve been closed already and replaced by 2 sets of 2020 Kone escalators that are to the opposite side of the track. Whether the older ones will be put to use again when the terminal is finished, who knows… But considering the amount of Kone TravelMaster 140 escalators throughout this network (absolutely loads!) I would not be surprised if the old tall set get decommissioned and broken up for spares.

Not very long but 4 medium escalators stairs ways with 180 clockwise & anti-clockwise

Yeah it's definitely a fairly unique setup. If you follow that walkway (at the beginning) along, there's a further 5th set down to the platforms.
