Excellent video. There is some discussion that because the Japanese suffered heavily in fighting Russian forces under General Zhukov (if I remember my mil history correctly), that it swayed the Japanese high command to NOT declare war against the Soviet Union when Germany launched Operation Barbarossa in June of 1941. Instead of using the Kwantung Army to attack the Soviet units they stayed put. Stalin withdrew the Far Eastern Divisions facing the Japanese and deployed them to Moscow. The Japanese, sensing the Russians were too much trouble, decided to attack eastwards starting with launching an air raid against the Americans at their naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii......
Well, Zhukov first of all made great casualties to his own army. He sent tank army without infantry/artellery cover and those tanks did manage to smash japanese defence but with high loss rate in russian tanks.
@@LCMhistory Ironically, this battle showed Zhukov's temperament in how he won battles. He would throw tanks in waves to "soften" the enemy then follow it up with infantry who then were killed from enemy infantry and machine guns then kept repeating the tactics until the enemy was wiped out. His biggest offense was in the battle for the Seelow Heights in April of 1945 when the Russians were stuck trying to knock out the emplaced German 88mm, 105mm and other flak guns supported by infantry. Zhukov's answer was to prematurely commit the 8th Guards Tank Army over General Chuikov's protests and hundreds of tanks were stuck on the west bank of the Oder River being knocked out by German flak guns. A waste of tanks but eventually the Russians overwhelmed the defenders but at high cost. So this battle was a prelude of what would happen in the future.

The anecdote that Chiune Sugihara, who had been assigned to the Consul General of Japan in Lithuania, rescued many Jewish refugees who had fled the persecution of Nazi Germany, became widely known at home and abroad as the "Oriental Sindler." On the other hand, the historical facts of another "Oriental Sindler", Lieutenant General Kiichiro Higuchi, are rarely known. It is recorded in the Jewish community that General Higuchi saved 20,000 Jews, well over 6,000 Jews allegedly saved by Sugihara, but now his achievements. The circle of cooperation is about to spread in Japan, Israel, and the United States in order to spread the word to the world.
Wonderful animation.
Its shit lol
@@furchicken Maybe, it's your opinion.
thanks :)
Brilliant and love the nod to Raiders of the lost Ark.
And My way
love your Videos
Man I am glad someone gave more attention to this battle. I feel like most people gloss over how important this event was. As it led to Japan not wanting to fight the Soviet Union for most of world war 2. I love this video. Such an under looked subject.
Yes, Japan stayed loyal to that peace agreement and didnt attack USSR in 1941 despite Hitler's requests. However USSR attacked Japan in 1945
@@LCMhistory Let's not forget this battle also started Marshall Zhukov career as a Soviet military leader who went on to be a key figuer in the battle of Stalingrad and defeating the Germans in the Eastern Front.
@@tennessee426 True. He got valuable experience in that war. He lost a lot of men because of his mistakes and there was even an investigation, some sources says that Stalin was even thinking to arrest him however finally two hight rank officers who conducted Zhukovs orders were arrested and sentenced to a death penalty with shooting and Zhukov got away clean of this with real war experience.
@@LCMhistoryI didn't know that. I can't wait to see more of your stop motions man!
Damn bro nice one. All scence are also same as the movie called "My way". I want to see more lego ww2 videos. Like Battle of battle of Aachen, France, Shang Hi, and you know cold war. Keep it up bro. :D
Thank you for a fantastic animation of this very interesting battle!

The explosion effects were fantastic and the sound effects were right on. I gotta big laugh when the soldier fighting with sword pulled out a pistol and shot the other sword expert soldier.

I really like the Indiana Jones reference at 5:30
Battle with sabres reminded me of your first stop motion with mega blocks where the assassin fights with some guys. Well done. You made huge progress since.
Did you think about stylizing moments when you show what is happening on the map but in LEGO?
Oh, first of all thank you for watching all my content! Its a great support for the youtuber like me! And... Im not sure that I have enough editing skills to make those map based animation... if I understand you correctly

Loved that Indiana jones reference
Yeah, also think it was funny )
