Four months ago a classmate of mine died. She took her own life, jumping out of a window, but even if we weren't so close I can't help being sad every time I think of her. I remember a friend from highschool died in a car accident when I was 15. The next day I turned on the tv ad heard this song for the first time (it was 2005). It obviously became part of the mourning process. This many years after I hear the song and still associate it with that event.

As much as people joke about how emo this song is, I really think the lyrics are genius. They're not just about the pain of his loss (which btw, this song is about his grandma Helen passing), they're actively talking about how much of a joy she was to everyone around her, how much just one person gave to this world. Honestly, this band means so much to me. I've been listening to them for a few years now. (My parents wouldn't let me at first)
This band has encouraged me to get up and keep going even when I have nothing left, not to loose hope, its okay to be scared, its okay to be hurt, but you have to get back up and watch the people get what they deserve weather its good or bad.
