Fantastic! Well done! I was cycling up Crawleyside and on Waskerly Way today, as part of a 125km loop round Teesdale and Weardale. It's nice to see you making a video of this area. There's loads of monster hills in the North Pennines!
Really liked that, thanks. I'm probably a bit late to the party. Loved the brass band at the end. Did you find a hotel in Sunderland or just stay awake until the train the next morning?
Well done mate. I'm at Glassonby between Langwathby and Hartside (C2C Rt7). The Alston road's full of tossers on pocket rockets, all trying to take the bends at high speed. Arragons at Penrith is the dog's danglers and always helpful to cyclists.
@@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 I like signs in KMs when I'm in Europe because they come down faster! I do have to keep mentally converting back to miles though.
Great video and great effort man! I used the link in your description and think I will use the GPX download as a friend and I are going to attempt this in a few weeks also. Can you confirm if the whole route is suitable for road bikes?
Hey Craig. Thanks for the nice comment! I can confirm that all of the road is suitable for a road bike. Yeah use Sustrans, it’s the best way to navigate IMO. It’s all very well signposted anyway so should be easy enough. All the best with it! You’ll have a great time. I’ll be uploading a new vlog soon where I cycled the north coast of Scotland, probably will upload it this week, so you may be interested in subscribing 😁😉
@@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 Thanks for the feedback. Any tips or words or wisdom? there's going to be 2 of us doing it and if(when) we make it to Sunderland we will be continuing down to Hartlepool.
@@craigcrallan15 no problem 😊 how many days you planning on doing it over? My advice, if you aren’t planning on doing it in one day...Take your time and enjoy the scenery, you’d be surprised at how much ground you can cover in one day. Don’t worry too much about how much KM you’ve done. Nothing wrong with getting off the bike and having nice breaks. Stop for lots of coffee breaks at nice spots along the road and soak it in! When you are going uphill, just relax and look down at the road, try not to look at how steep it is and how far, you’ll think you are going too slow but just go slow and take it easy! If you are planning on doing it in one day, take lots of energy gels! Start as early as you possibly can. If camping, don’t worry too much about where you are going to camp later in the day. If you stick to the cycle route there are loads of places to camp.
@@craigcrallan15 very nice! In that case, yeah start early as you can, before sunrise. Get in the zone. Have loads of these in the back pocket of your cycle journey, only use them when it gets bad (see link) Bannas, coffee and ham and cheese sandwiches is the best fuel for me, save these for dire situations. If your bikes are in good nick, you’ll be fine! Get in the zone and admire the beautiful scenes around you. If your averaging over 16km per hour, your already doing better than I did. I did it in 2 days in 2021, much more sensible and stayed the night at Alston, which was nice. kudos on your ride though.
Excellent, thought you were giving up with only down hill left

😂😂😂 in back gardens
I cycled the 125 miles from Whitehaven to Redcar in 6 hours 38 minutes with 3 x short sandwich and drink breaks for charity. No bull either !
Could have been windy and peeing down
So true, it was a stunning day for sure
Mind you a £100 quid bike , respect 💪👍
Well done! 👍🏻😁
