Wild Atlantic Way, Wild Camping | GIVING UP THE INTERNET |
Had a fascinating time giving up the internet for a week. No social media, no google maps, no bbc sport. Adventuring around the Wild Atlantic Way, FreeStyle. Enjoying the incredibly stunning West Coast of Ireland as well as the grand Irish Hospitality.

Cycling the Scottish North Coast 500 Solo - 5 Nights, Wild Camping
Переглядів 9 тис.3 роки тому
August 2021. I decided to cycle the NC500 solo. What an incredible ride it was! It completely blew me away, I had no idea that the scenes would be so great. Crystal clear waters and sandy beeches in these little hidden bays, wavy lochs surrounded by all kinds of shades of green, razor sharp mountains surrounding smooth valley roads. If you want to do the route, this GPX map is very useful: ride...

Переглядів 10 тис.3 роки тому
Bank Holiday Weekend, fancied an adventure. Cycled up to Whitehaven from Manchester across a day and a half, 140 miles. Camped out by the side of route 71, up bright and early to tackle the Coast to Coast in one day on a old second hand £100 bike. Using route 71 mainly but taking short-cuts on A roads here and there. It really is a a World Class cycle route with astonishing scenery, very easy t...

(1/3) BIKE STOLEN - Welsh Coast to Coast Cycle Tour Solo - Day 1
Переглядів 2,1 тис.4 роки тому
Designed my own Welsh Coast to Coast cycle route starting in Manchester. Following Sustrans Cycle Routes. This video quickly covers off how to plan a long distance cycle route using Sustrans. Also shows you that you don't need a top of the range bike to do a tour! Mine cost me £80 . Also tells the story of my beloved Norco Search that got stolen. As mentioned in the video, if anybody wants to d...

In Spain on Lockdown - Corona Virus Diaries
Переглядів 5174 роки тому
Spain decided to lock itself down due to Covid-19 the day before I was due to fly back to England, will I make it out? The funniest part of the day was all these stoners from all over the UK waiting at the airport gates, wearing their tracksuits, Gucci man-bags, baseball caps, fresh creps and wearing some very hazed and open-mouthed expressions on their faces. There had been some bud smoking co...
Very well done. Saddle looked painful
Watched a few c2c vids now on UA-cam and this one has actually made me laugh out loud. You dick! 😝
Thanks for sharing this. Doing the same myself with a friend in few weeks!
@@Motoadvyyc you’re in for a treat! I’d love to do this one again.
Why Kms? Isn't this England?
@@silkdestroyer looks like you’re cycling further when you use KM! 😄
@@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 I like signs in KMs when I'm in Europe because they come down faster! I do have to keep mentally converting back to miles though.
Fantastic! Well done! I was cycling up Crawleyside and on Waskerly Way today, as part of a 125km loop round Teesdale and Weardale. It's nice to see you making a video of this area. There's loads of monster hills in the North Pennines!
yes you’re back!! love this shit
Good to see you back 🎉
Kin hell about time a new video! hahaa
Loved your videos from a couple of years ago. They landed at a time I was living alone, stressed at work and starting to get into cycle touring myself. They provided some cracking easy watching. Good to see you back 👍
I’m glad you found a great outlet to help deal with the stress man! Thank you for giving them a watch too 🙏
Great video, I’m not sure I could cope with no music or audible while on the bike
Awesome, cow serenade was something special
Excellent, thought you were giving up with only down hill left
Took some determination and grit to get this ride done - well done for seeing it through! 👍🏻
I cycled the 125 miles from Whitehaven to Redcar in 6 hours 38 minutes with 3 x short sandwich and drink breaks for charity. No bull either !
two things I hate, bicycle theft and seeing bikes on scrap vans, thanks Jonesy
nice one bud, great stuff
Not the only one who gets delirious and start singing shit to nature and the animals for a reaction lol. Strong stuff!
Loch, fancy word for lake 🙄
Another great video. Can’t believe just how calm and matter of fact you were in video 1 when you had your bike nicked! Cheers 👍
I’m enjoying your videos Jonesy, presented with humour and in a down to earth way. Cheers 👍
Many thanks for posting this, it was very useful for our tour last week (should have been in Spring 2020 but ....). A couple of updates; you can now legitimately avoid your section with the electric fence behind Sant Joan as there's now some new sections up to Camprodon either side of the N260 / C-38. Across by the sea there are huge roadworks in Palafrugell which may last most of 2023 and there is a badly signed diversion. It was kind of you to underplay the route down into La Jonquera.
I did it in 2 days in 2021, much more sensible and stayed the night at Alston, which was nice. kudos on your ride though.
Your sense of humour made this a great video to watch, I cycle around Norfolk ,around the Broads ,and the marshlands ,which are flat as a pancake so the hills you climbed looked very scary, you get plagued by midges here as well ,…..I reckon it’s where your midges come on their holidays 😂
Has anyone told you you look, sound and have the same sense of humour as Freddie Flintoff. I like it
Thanks so much, that’s very flattering. Cheers for watching the videos. It’s a shame I haven’t been on an adventure for a while.
Hiya mate, just seen one of your videos. Brilliant. I cycle on my own. Like your humour
North Coast 500 Certificate | PDF | Instant Download etsy.me/3dzardT
Brilliant watch this. Once of the best well done.
Did you bring a bike lock? How did you secure your bike overnight or when stopping for lunch?
The bike rental place gave me a bike lock, I never used it though. There tends not to be any crime the remoter you go. Just tried to stay hidden when wild camping and lay the bike on the floor or up against a tree or fence. It was very nearly dark every time I set up camp.
@@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 That makes sense. What would you recommend for rain gear? Overshoes, rain jacket, waterproof gloves? I will definitely bring bug spray. Great video, cheers.
Thank you for posting. I liked that. You are good at the chat.
Just found you mate. Really enjoyed your journey, but those midges looked horrendous. looking forward to watching your other adventures.
Could have been windy and peeing down
So true, it was a stunning day for sure
Mind you a £100 quid bike , respect 💪👍
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Curious why you decided to ride toward Olot from Girona instead of riding the seaside first? Also, were you doing any camping on the trip? I am curious about those opportunities as I will also be riding this route.
Manual! Sorry for the late reply. I did the Olot route first as I preferred the idea of going into the mountains first and finishing along the seaside. As I imagined the seaside route to be easiest to begin with. I did not camp, but only because I couldn’t be bothered to bring my tent from the UK onto the plane. It would be better to camp, although, if camping you may miss out on getting the nice feelings of the small town life in the area, which I enjoyed. Having a little meal and a glass of wine on the town squares in the evening for example. I think camping is always better though. Did you end up doing the trip? How was it? I really want to do it again now I have better camera equipment haha 😆
Loving the videos mate. You've got a good sense of humour. The cows cracked me up 🤣🤣 probably thought "who the fu*k is that guy" 🤣
I hear ya 'keep on keeping on the road' mate....... gotta get that sponsorship deal!! 2022 could be the year eh :-) keep rocking it and see you on the road 🤘
This series deserves so many more views dude - bloody epic journey. I love your 'lets try that ncn route' way of doing things..... very chilled. And the Moreti always hits the spot at the end of a long day in he saddle :-)
Nice trip and lovely countryside. In 2002, I rode from South of Wales to the North ending up in Berwick and it was a rigorous climb in the Black Mountains. Apparently I hadn't read the part about steep climbs. Later on I took the train to Yorkshire and that was fun. I very much enjoyed the food, history, and rigorous riding. Even now I am thinking about one last ride in the UK. Great fun, maybe, even at 75.
This is the UK, we travel in miles not kilometres.
Aaarrggh - midges! Worst thing is waking up in the morning and seeing them on the mesh waiting for you to open the inner tent door …
Well done! 👍🏻😁
Well done! 👍🏻😁
I really enjoyed watching your video, what a great achievement, well done 😊
Really liked that, thanks. I'm probably a bit late to the party. Loved the brass band at the end. Did you find a hotel in Sunderland or just stay awake until the train the next morning?
Great videos watching them makes me want to try out few of the routes do you have a strava account to see your routes
Hey Anthony! Sorry for the late reply. My strava is “The Real CJ” and I’m based in Manchester. Sadly, I don’t get out much cycling these days. But I’m looking to give myself a kick up the backside to get back out there
Well done mate. I'm at Glassonby between Langwathby and Hartside (C2C Rt7). The Alston road's full of tossers on pocket rockets, all trying to take the bends at high speed. Arragons at Penrith is the dog's danglers and always helpful to cyclists.
Never too poor to tour
Great video mate.
Never too poor to tour
Some horrendous welsh place pronunciations ahaha love it! Looks a great trip
Epic video mate, I cycled it solo in July, I cannot wait to do it all again next year
Thanks for watching Ian! Did you end up doing it again last year?
@Jonesy's Cycle Vlogs I prepped for doing the hebridean way last year but ended up spending a week in the cairngorms instead for various reasons, I will be doing the hebridean way this year at the start of July, but still intend to do the nc500 again someday.
HAHAHAHA the fucking cows
