its all a critique of the hyper critical older generation berating the youth for being lazy even though monetarily the youth of south Korea are worse off. the older generation grew up in the first economic spike that Korea had when their capitalism really kicked off prices for houses, education and cars were still very low but the money was high. these days Korea is used to having money so everything is highly priced and when bts grew up especially there was an economic crash and a house price rise so the older generation would push young people to buy houses early and start families like they did when it isn't an opportunity that they have. this is what yoongi means when he says that the older genertion have long legs and the younger generation have short ones it refers to the monetary gap between the generations

I’m sure people have said this previously, but don’t depend on these color-coded lyrics to figure out who is singing what. They’re wrong a lot of the time, so unfortunately the best way to figure it out is just to get familiar with their voices
I am new to your channel, so sorry if you already have...the dance practice for this song is really good. Also, when they perform this live, Armys go crazy! I recommend watching the dance practice before live versions as many times they freestyle live instead of the normal choreo. I really like your voice and enjoyed y'alls reaction. And yet they wrapped it in their sexiest choreography making it one of the top eternal fam favorites. Utterly subversively brilliantly use crowd pleasing hip thrusts to emphasize the Fu parts of the lyrics.
Why did I not know your channel until now? The way you explained to your friend was so respectful, I'm so happy to meet people who are not prejudiced about music. If I can recommend something to you, it would be the explanation about this song because it still has more meaning than we think at first glance and the live performance that seems incredible to me, I subscribe, thanks to you and your friend for appreciating BTS's music in this way. Baepsae explained: ua-cam.com/video/RP4Qbh2rXFU/v-deo.html Live performance: ua-cam.com/video/2PKLsshsuZo/v-deo.html
I would HIGHLY recommend watching DKDTV’s breakdown of this song - explains the Korean perspective that many of us don’t have, the clever wordplay, and it’s eye-opening. Huge respect to BTS for talking about this topic in their music. ua-cam.com/video/RP4Qbh2rXFU/v-deo.html
This song is contextually extremely rooted in Korea which has been a 'developing nation' for the last few decades and is now plateau-ing out into 1st world. During developing phases work is very easy to come by; now that the infrastructure is built, maintenance requires less jobs and therefore young people find it much harder to get a foot in. The older generations in Korea regularly forget this.
All I have to say is omg the hip thrusts and body rolls are my fav moves ever and especially the hip thrusts hot so hard. also the message behind the song is also so powerful. You shuld really check out the live performance of this song
SOOOO many messages in this one that you really need to watch the "explained" video to get everything. It's basically an anthem for Millenials and a big fuck u to our parents' generation. Love it.
I agree with what others have said, you are missing out by not seeing the dance to this, it is really something and also very birdlike. I know you checked out doolset, but the lyric translation for this color coded did NOT do it justice. Baepsae is a crow-tit, it means crow-tit, a teeny little white fluffy bird. It's sounds different when you say it, try hard doesn't have the fricatives or plosives. It changes the whole context. I agree with what you are saying to a degree but if you watch the dkdktv explanation, you will see and I think the states are like this as well, that generations now can't afford a house and so many things that were considered basic creature comforts. We have to let go of because it is now too expensive. People working 3 jobs and still not having enough money to take care of their family and live. The middle class has all but disappeared. And I can't tell you how (I don't have the words) many people don't want to pay me because I am a creative (art, acting singing, dancing) they say it will look good on a resume or its experience. Pay people for work they do, its that simple. Sorry for the rant. I do love that you guys talk about these things 😘💜 But half of the brilliance of BTS is the dancing. You wouldn't play a MJ song and not show him dancing. That's all I am saying.
Baepsae is actually one of my favorite songs from BTS. This song is famous for its hip thrust (choreography) but I appreciate the lyrics of this song a lot. Some of my other favorites are Magic Shop, Spring Day, Life Goes On, Spine Breaker, Paradise, etc. Is there a chance that you can react to the theory behind spring day??
i feel like this lyric video really simplified the lyrics tho, to make it easier to translate into english, because the whole song references a korean idiom.
To enjoy Baepsae to it’s fullest by knowing the meaning, you should see how they delivered it to their listeners which is also amazing. Here is a performance of the song live in concert and also a dance practice. ua-cam.com/video/IjASVQSCh5A/v-deo.html - Attack on Bangtan, Fire, Silver Spoon, Dope ua-cam.com/video/V1i_x2_TGE0/v-deo.html - Dance Practice
Listen I just really love the music you have in your introductions and endings and even before you changex em to the new one the older one banged SO MY REQUEST IS!! What song is that brother😭 Share the goodness
Half of Bapsae is the choreography. Like you can’t have the song without the choreography, so I highly recommend also checking out the dance practice video and a live performance. Also, the lyric video you’re watching isn’t really quite the best translation. Doolset lyrics has good translations, also watch an explanation.
Truthfully this is more about the economic gap between younger and older generations. Money used to be worth something even when you made an average amount. So older generations like ppl in their 40-80s were able to buy houses, start families etc. These days young ppl don't have that option. The cost of everything elevated to a ridiculous level and it's only getting worse. You have two choices if you're earning an average minimum wage WITH DIPLOMAS BTW. You either pay rent or you choose to be able to eat. So because we are not able to live like ppl in their 40s and 50s, we, young ppl are told we don't try hard enough. But there is a fundamental issue when even trying hard (like working 2-3 jobs) doesn't get you anywhere besides maybe a mental institution from overworking.
I fucking hate when parents do that. Every time I stay that I'm struggling with something, they always want to tell me that I have it so much easier and have no room to complain and it PISSES ME OFF. They do it with my school, my job, and anything that I've set as a goal for myself
This song is very political and talks about issues from a Korean prospective. This song speaks, not only with lyrics but the choreo also tells the story. This may not be your top song from BTS but I would recommend you watch the live for this one and as someone already suggested to also watch the explanation vid.
In the chorus they talk about the older generation telling them to give more effort but at the beginning of the song and the second verse they call BTS tryhards, so comes the line about making their hands and feet cringe because of the irony and in the bridge, Jungkook said "This is fair? are u crazy? This is right? U must be kidding me?" So I interpret the song about the generation before them to stop telling them what to do and BTS accepting that they're tryhards because that is "who they are."
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️you need to react to No more dream!! is their debut song! And it reacts louder than bombs, looks like you entered heaven! please these songs are amazing!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
My mum is like, "Get off your phone, don't you know that when I was 17 I was going out and doing work while you are sitting here doing absolutely nothing". I really wanted her to hear at these lyrics in this song. But it would be rude. So I was just like "ok" 😅😅 Edit: Idk that's was the only thing I could say at that moment lol. I should have said "I am not doing "nothing" I'm watching BTS. They teach me more than you teach me" Would have been the best answer 😂😂 But that's rude even thinking about it.🙃 I love my mother ( don't understand me wrongly)
I love your commentary about ‘boy bands,’ I’m baby army and I started thinking about it and if you take that monicker literally some of my favorite bands like Yellowcard, Blink 182 and We the Kings are boy bands but we’re never called that 🤷🏽♀️
Baepsae my queen!! Did you guys know she has a girlfriend, her name is GO GO she’s very cute but I’d say even more savage than Baepsae. If the message behind Baepsae got you interested I highly recommend checking out GO GO and maybe Am I wrong next.
I’ll comment since I have kids your age. I fought hard to go to college and get a degree. My kids don’t seem at all interested in getting a college degree even though they are capable and received scholarships. This has me baffled and angry. Since I am connected to their generation through UA-cam because of BTS, I get to see what young people are capable of. Yes, there are so many more options for young people today. However, I’m not going to allow my kids to sit in their rooms and mooch off of me either. There needs to be a line drawn between laziness and creativity when it comes to choosing a career path that is not conventional. I’m somewhat ok as long as they are ACTIVELY pursuing something. My boys are doing that. My girl is actively pursuing a boy, which I won’t tolerate. So, my generation does need to take a step back and realize that there are multiple pathways to success. Kids need to realize that they need to work for what they want even if it’s not through going to college. Baepsae is about more than that, though. It’s about the older generation controlling everything but still demanding that young people work harder. This is more about the Korean society than American society. The explained video by DKDKTV does a good job explaining it.
Some of my favorite BTS songs are the ones that seem really fun and silly until you do a deep dive into the lyrics and the cultural/economic background (Baepsae, Am I Wrong, Go Go)
Every hip thrust is a huge middle finger up to the unfair Silverspoon structure controlled by the last generation. Those thrusts should be registered as deadly weapons. Stay well
i understand why you mirror half the screen so its like ur both looking at the video but its super confusing to see you talking to each other and have 1 person appear to just stare off to the other side while speaking or listening lOL

I do love that you guys talk about these things 😘💜
But half of the brilliance of BTS is the dancing.
Yoo I love you two together!!!
I wish youtube has multi likes count cause I really want to hit it multiple times 😀😀😀
I WAS SO HAPPY YOU WERE FINALLY REACTING TO THISSSSS😆Also you should react to EXO "Monster"
i love your excitement 😆
@@LintonWilson why of course bro😎you make my day with your hard work/editing
Man, hearing you say ¡CABRON! is probably the best thing that happened to me today
Nice reaction guys 😄💜💜🇧🇷
I was so confused for a while why both of u were looking at your left xD
Clicked immediately
To enjoy Baepsae to it’s fullest by knowing the meaning, you should see how they delivered it to their listeners which is also amazing. Here is a performance of the song live in concert and also a dance practice.

Listen I just really love the music you have in your introductions and endings and even before you changex em to the new one the older one banged SO MY REQUEST IS!! What song is that brother😭
Share the goodness
The intro is a Japanese version of dear maria!
@@LintonWilson THANK YOU!!
“My cabron” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 pls I need help 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Half of Bapsae is the choreography. Like you can’t have the song without the choreography, so I highly recommend also checking out the dance practice video and a live performance.
Also, the lyric video you’re watching isn’t really quite the best translation. Doolset lyrics has good translations, also watch an explanation.
Well, actually not sure if was explained in A of jobs in Korea, you don't work for pay, you work for "experience and a good review/referral"
But there is a fundamental issue when even trying hard (like working 2-3 jobs) doesn't get you anywhere besides maybe a mental institution from overworking.
maybe you can watch dkdktv bapsae explanation. it is more deep
I fucking hate when parents do that. Every time I stay that I'm struggling with something, they always want to tell me that I have it so much easier and have no room to complain and it PISSES ME OFF. They do it with my school, my job, and anything that I've set as a goal for myself
The live is so fire and funny 💓😂
I wouldn’t say this song is just generational (though that is certainly a huge part of it), it is also disparities between wealth, status, wage, etc.
I love this song 😍🥰🔥💜
Watch the "Baepsae Explained" video by DKDKTV!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!! THANK YOU..I loved the reaction.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️you need to react to No more dream!! is their debut song! And it reacts louder than bombs, looks like you entered heaven! please these songs are amazing!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
My mum is like,
"Get off your phone, don't you know that when I was 17 I was going out and doing work while you are sitting here doing absolutely nothing".
I really wanted her to hear at these lyrics in this song.
But it would be rude.
So I was just like "ok" 😅😅
Edit:
Idk that's was the only thing I could say at that moment lol.
I should have said
"I am not doing "nothing" I'm watching BTS.
They teach me more than you teach me"
Would have been the best answer 😂😂
But that's rude even thinking about it.🙃
I love my mother ( don't understand me wrongly)
Best reaction 😂😂
I love your commentary about ‘boy bands,’ I’m baby army and I started thinking about it and if you take that monicker literally some of my favorite bands like Yellowcard, Blink 182 and We the Kings are boy bands but we’re never called that 🤷🏽♀️
WE ON by bts is very good song i think you will like it
*it's playing another video-*
*hm? osoa--*
You should watch their dance practice video for Baepsae. It's great and fun..
U should react more with ur friend
bro is that malikai the goat
If *Baepsae* criticizes the older generation then *Spinebreaker* criticizes the younger generation. They always have a message.
You need to watch the explained version by DKDKTV. The use of word play and metaphors completely blew my mind.
I think this guy was hilarious, rv...🤧
Please bring him on more often!🙏
Some of my favorite BTS songs are the ones that seem really fun and silly until you do a deep dive into the lyrics and the cultural/economic background (Baepsae, Am I Wrong, Go Go)
why does 9:32 remind me of v asking jimin what was his name back in Hawaii in bon voyage S2
Every hip thrust is a huge middle finger up to the unfair Silverspoon structure controlled by the last generation. Those thrusts should be registered as deadly weapons. Stay well
Omg ....its YOON like MOON yoongi not Yungi u killin me cousin wilson lol
I want you to react to Daeng with your friend 🤧
I miss old bts song 😢
a lot of facts from them💜
Watch the explained version of baepsae by dkdktv (korean who speak english) as well as dance practice. I love everything about Baepsae
i understand why you mirror half the screen so its like ur both looking at the video but its super confusing to see you talking to each other and have 1 person appear to just stare off to the other side while speaking or listening lOL
React to a new group of JYP, they call Xdinary Heroes - Happy Death Day, I hope you like it.
If you can plz watch the explanation video. This song is very deep 💜
your voice is so beaituful
Thank u for reacting to it.
Hope you react to BTS MAGIC SHOP
