I’m excited to see the snow drifts this season!
Me too! 🌸
It is going to be gorgeous with the pink in front of the purple catmint. I love it, my two favorite colors, pink and purple. 😊
Mine too!
Beginning gardeners miss out by not reading and learning from gardening books. You never cut back daffodils until leaves turn yellow and die back. If you do? You won’t receive blooms the next year. And the bulbs won’t multiply. A good bulb book would explain on how to keep bulbs. 😊
Good job southern girl 👍🏻 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Thank you!!! 🌸 I can’t wait to see it this year!
I love supertunia bubblegums.
Me too Promise! They are so beautiful and the butterflies 🦋 love them!
Looks great! I just got some PW plants this weekend!
You will be so pleased!!
Planted Bubblegum last year and it grew 3 x 3 feet, no problem. One plant. Had to spray it once for rabbits. No deadheading.
Oh my goodness! Yours grew big like mine!!
I planted a whole flat of inpatients and they looked amazing. The next morning I looked out my window to admire my flowers and they were nonexistent. The rabbits ate every single one right down to ground level. So disappointing and I have learned not to replant anything the rabbits feast on. This year they ate my clematis right down to ground level. Any suggestions???
Oh my goodness. This is so sad! I have seen gardeners use chicken wire around plants and spray the plants with a deer/rabbit repellent. I don’t have rabbits because we have a hawk that lives near our house but we do struggle with deer. Good luck my gardening friend! 🤗
I use deer repellent - you have to be on a religious regular schedule for spraying and use a different spray each time, as the deer/rabbits will get used to the spray if you keep using the same one. So far, it's worked !!! Always a challange in the garden, eh?
@@LitlPoot that’s a great idea!
I have deer and rabbit infestations and they have never eaten my clematis before but have started to nibble on one of them. I sprayed it with Liquid Fence, but this is a pain in the neck to keep up with, and expensive. I would cover it with deer netting for now. I have removed half of my hostas, and half of my roses for this reason. I also took out most of my standard sedum plants. I planted hellebores, expensive I thought, Pugster Blue butterfly bushes, Double Doozie Spirea, and they haven’t touched them, no spraying either. Dahlias have become another favorite, lots of color and variety, no spraying. Just slug bait. I can leave them in the ground in zone 7b. They also don’t touch peonies. I feel I can manage to spray what I have left, but I would never be surprised to see something eaten. They are pretty set in eating my limelight hydrangea, so I try to spray them religiously. I cover the standard one with netting because it is too big to spray. After I put mulch down, I am going to enclose some areas with metal spikes and netting as the walls around those areas. I don’t want to have to spray all season.

Thank you!!
@@simple_southern_garden Thanks 🌷🌷🌷
Bud worms are terrible on Supertunia Vista bubble gum at my house. Too much trouble/work for me.
We have been so fortunate that we don’t have that problem. We did have a few that the deer nibbled on last year. You may do better with a gorgeous Superbena (Verbena) from Proven Winners. They don’t struggle with bud worms. Thank you for watching and let’s see how they do this year. Keep me updated on your garden!
What size auger did you use?
I used the 3 inch and it is 24 inches long.
