Yes Viet Nam was going on at the time of the show, but the fact that they did not touch on it is what made the show special to me. As a military kid my father was deployed at the time often in harm's way. The show gave us a break from thinking and praying for his safe return. We watched it as family, sitting and laying on our parent's bed with our mother, eating popcorn and just laughing ourselves silly. Each show had a story with a moral to it. We watched it, we listened, we laughed and most importantly we learned. Thank God for the Brady Bunch and Sherwood Schwartz.

Adults need to communicate with each other and decide what their goals in life are and plan accordingly. People of my time wanted it all. Many parents worked (look at the research), having baby sitters, having grandma babysit, after school programs; and their children being home alone after school let out, doing grocery shopping, shuttling kids too and from after school activities. I saw kids who were so exhausted that they couldn't get their homework done. I saw some parents making excuses for their kids as to why their child didn't do their homework. That teaches some kids that school is not important. It teaches that parents will "save" them when the going gets tough. It teaches them that there are no consequences. Again, I'm sure it worked out for many, but I couldn't see having someone else raise my kid. I worked with many who chose that route and they were exhausted and stressed out. You get one chance to raise your kids, if you bungle that, anything else you do doesn't matter much. I believe Jackie Kennedy mentioned that. YOU MAKE THE CHOICE. It doesn't necessarily mean you choose one or the other, what it means is to make sure your kids are well adjusted, happy and that you spend time with your kids, become involved in their life. It doesn't mean you have to have the biggest home. Kids come first. For some, the best decision might be to not have kids at all or stay single or stay single and have a kid or adopt. Make sure your choices are healthy ones.

No, she did the Brady Brides movie in 81 and the Brady Brides series as well and there may have been one reunion special she didn't do in the 90s but she did do the one in 1988 I think which was a Christmas special; but Cindy (Susan Olsen) was missing on that one. She did not do the variety show and I don't blame her , she was probably trying to move on from Jan and get more mature roles for herself.
