The Roush Cold Air Intake Kit provides better air intake than your F-150’s factory airbox. Two of its most important features are a reduced pressure drop and an unrestricted potential for power and fuel efficiency. This kit allows for much better engine performance, despite the fact that it does not require calibration.
The Roush Cold Air Intake Kit features larger inlet and air box sizes, as well as an aggressive performance sound and additional induction noise. It was designed to keep heat out and facilitate maximum performance. Made of an inner and outer layer of wire mesh, the high-capacity dry filter retains its shape and is easily washable. The kit uses EPDM rubber couplers for an optimum fit; this will not void your warranty.

I like that the box has a lid rather than sealing on the hood, but there is a huge gap where the tube enters the box...so not sealed st all. Really would want to limit heat but also other dirt getting in there while off road
I just installed mine today you can definitely hear a sound difference with a stock exhaust however I’ll be changing that one out for the Roush single pipe exhaust dual tips Which will allow it to breathe a lot better and the sound phenomenon

I have a 2.7 with a few mods, last month i ugraded my rear suspension with Bilstein 5100s . I have a muffler delete. My question is , I have a 500$ budget what mod would be the best bang for my buck?
Also fits the 3.5 L EcoBoost correct?
Seems kinda silly those two holes couldn’t have been drilled at the factory. The Chinese could’ve handled such a small detail.
I agree. All they need to do is pre-drill them for the specific make and model. You're already ordering specifically for your make and model anyway. Why not just drill them for everyone. Dumb.

I have something under the front bumper of my F-150 (2017 lariat), I don’t really know what it’s called but what it’s purpose and what would happen if I removed it
It’s usually referred to as an air dam. It’s mostly there for aerodynamics but removing it can have a small effect on fuel economy if you drive at high speeds frequently. I removed mine and it looks way better so I won't be putting it back on. I believe Ford says to remove it when taking the truck off-road anyway.
He said “anyone could do it” I know a handful of people who couldn’t do all the modifications needed to make this work
Anyone that can tie their shoes, hang a picture, or cook an egg. Very easy install. It's like three hose clamps and two screws to remove the old air box and a few more to put it back together.
Does roushe make a cold air intake without a cover on it or can I just leave that cover off

Does this install match the Powerboost(3.5 twin turbo) install? I found `1 video and he shaowed everything except the install. What a waste of time that was. Thanks.
Why is there a big air gap behind the filter? doesn't that defeat the purpose of the cold intake?
Engine movement
I installed it on my powerboost and it's a waste of money until you take the cover off then you hear all the sounds, turbos spooling and a little bit of blow off action. Yes I don't care that I'm sucking in "bad hot air". It's still forcing cold air though the front cold air duct.
Stupid question.... how does this effect MPG? Do you lose or gain any MPG?
Tricky question. This intake allows your engine and turbos to breath a lot easier, getting you some extra horsepower and torque. If you drive nice and conservatively you can definitely expect to see a little boost in mpgs. But if you drive aggressively or punch the throttle more often to get more induction noises, those extra MPGs will go right out the window. -Zach

Wow. A mechanic friend of mine told me these filter mods do almost nothing and are a money making scam. After listening to the “sound” difference, now I know they do nothing. What a waste of money...
Either he explained wrong or you didn’t hear everything he said. The cheaper ones do nothing. The ones you want-that do something- require a tune after installation.👍🏻
Drop in k&n filter is only 1 horsepower lower. 60 dollar or 300 dollars your choice. My bad 300 dollars come with slightly more engine sound

Yet the computer will adjust A/F ratio, so why spend 400 dollars.
The stock intake box keeps the heat out and off the filter...and the new one is open so it's going to be sucking hot air waste of money
Really? Where is it open? Perhaps you don’t understand that just because there is a piece of clear plexiglass, it’s still closed. Just because it’s invisible doesn’t mean it’s not there.😂😂😂🤣🤣
@@petrosspetrosgali he's talking where the tube enters the box, the top has a big gap around the tube, and the bottom where the snorkel connects fits loose and can suck hot air. But it today and kind if disappointed
