    Thank you for everything ben!! I could not have done this without you. All the information you give us focus owners is insanely invaluable and you deserve all the success you're seeing now! I subbed at 1k and now you're at 6.4k. Just test drove my car, reused the clutch by locking it using your other video, and I can confirm that my car works better at 130k miles than when I bought it at 80k miles. I cannot thank you enough!

    This playlist from Ben was so helpful! I dropped the trans and replaced dual clutch following along and the car is back on the road! Thanks! I had no codes but R, 2, 4th were slipping and trans for warm. When I opened up transmission the bearing was completely broken! Engine hoist was a huge help to be able to move trans around to line up.

    Is there a way to clean out the double-clutch without dropping the transmission? My friend Focus slips from time to time, so I’m assuming the clutch plates are dirty causing the minor slips. So without going thru the headache or dropping the entire transmission, is there a way to someone just crack it open and spray parts cleaner in there to maybe drain the debris out? Just looking for a simple way.

      @BigBensCarsAndCycles so... I bought the 2012 Focus 2 weeks ago. The transmission was slipping and shuddering some. It wasn't real bad, but I wanted it to be as good as possible since it is going to someone who doesn't know a lot about cars and just needed some cheap transportation for a while. Well, my son has been driving it mostly(700 miles), so I was getting ready to work on it today, and I took it out for a drive. It didn't shudder. I had my wife drive it. No shudder. I went out for a ride with my son. He could make it shudder, but normal driving it was fine. I've decided to leave it alone unless it gets worse. Now, I have $1k in parts and tools. I'll have to go buy another one that actually needs a clutch.🤪

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  Рік тому +1

      Go drive the car hard and it'll mitigate shudder for a while. But it'll be back. And shudder is pretty much characteristic on these and people have been living with it until a fork locks up.

      @@BigBensCarsAndCycles I have a feeling that is what my son was doing. As I have been going over this car, it looks it may have sat for a little bit before I bought it. So I tried removing the tranny before watching your video. I didn’t remove the flex plate nuts and tried prying it off. I didn’t know it was held by those nuts 😢. I ended up removing the whole engine and tranny assembly. The tranny mostly held up by the tension of the flex plate while removing. The question is now, do I have to replace both the dual clutch and flex plate? Or either of them? Or is it okay? Apparently the dual clutch has been replaced within the last two years. What can I say? I have trust issues 😅Thanks for the help.

      @@FreePalestine1173 they're stout parts. I would roll the dice. Unless you heard terrible sounds while prying

      @ thank you! You’re a life saver. One more question. Where do you get all the snap rings? Or do they only come in kits with the dual clutch? Thanks again.
