That would be your front cv's or just needs a wheel balance.
I reckon it might be the 2.0 as it's a UK car, we only got the 2.4 in the Accord over here sadly.
you can get rear LSD(and front if you want) for these for $1k, plus a new clutch pack to make the AWD engage better, i think those 2 upgrades would give it enough traction to really compete with big guys

I just a 03 with 197k miles for 4k from an old lady. It's clean in and out. Only issue is paint chip on corner panel and steering wheel pump is leaking. Other than that for a 20 year old car, it's badass! Doing a major tune up

Got a 2005 2.4L AT 2" lift 225/70/16 KO2'S and it goes everywhere...
I bought one for my dog 2k chf with 265k kilometers. It s awesome and very surprised about his skill on off road and on the road as well.

Our 02 CR-V, Chucky, , an automatic no less, has 262k miles and is regularly used for skidding "logs" meaning trees (Osage,Tulip Poplar, Black Walnut, Cedar) around on our 15 acres. Considering 50% tread on some All-Season radials and grades Chucky has to contend with, I put it right up there with some custom-builds I've done on Baha Bugs, and half a notch below an 86 Samurai and an 82 Toyota. And those were 4WD manuals, not a rev-happy automatic.

I would get a set of off road tyres if I were going to do any sort of 4x4 in my CR-V, I didn't buy it to do 4x4, I only bought it because it was cheap and perfect for my Knee replacements and then my Hip as I drive a Coupe twin turbo normally, I really enjoy the 2003 CR-V Sports as it has a lot more go than I thought it would for a non turbo four cylinder.
I was thnking after I bought the CR-V if it might do okay for Beach driving as then I can tow my Jet Ski or Fishing Boat to places my Coupe wouldn't be able to. After watching this, I think it will be perfect.
I'm hoping it'll work on the beach for me as well

Do you know if it is possible to run 235/75/15 without a lift? I am going to install a 1.5 lift soon but I need some new tires first. BTW, love your videos! I bought my 2004 CRV not knowing how tuff they are.

I own one and love Honda. But it won’t stand up to a cheap Japanese true 4x4 with locking differentials in serious off roading.
Maybe mic doesn't pick up the sound well but that exhaust is horrible! What is it a straight pipe or something? It would be more suiting to have some kind of muffling down there, you wouldn't be able to hear if you strip something or broke something from that exhaust sound.
I'm looking at the Honda CRV on Auto Trader so I can go to the mountains with tents, explore the country and not worry about the car getting damaged. I think: “This is an old Honda. Japanese quality. And will anyone kill it? I’ll definitely buy a car from some grandfather.” I went to UA-cam to look at reviews and the first one I came across was this video.....

I just don’t know. I had an Outback and CRV at the same time, both stock. The CRV was not in the same league as the Outback, not even close.

@@Javiihawk_7 the CRV would be a good choice for groceries. If you go camping a bunch like me, Subaru all the way. The CRV has a pretty short wheelbase, so it is a bit more bumpy. They are both excellent on cargo capacity.
I could see Subaru's AWD system definitely being superior to the Honda's "slip-n-grip" design. I just wonder about the known issues with Subie head gaskets. No, not all of them had head gasket issues but in those older units, I believe Honda's timing chain driven 2.4L engine would likely be more reliable.

im thinking about straight piping my crv mk2 in the uk ( i know it will fail the MOT) but im concerned about noise. does this have a muffer box on? or is this a straight pipe from the down pipe?
i want to remove the catalytic converter but keep the muffler, will it bit a bit quieter than this? i know hte cat removes some sound and the muffler removes even more sound

I want to buy a crv in a few months time, but i still wonder how capable it is offroad- after all buying an suv for driving in the city only is just stupid. So now seeing what it can drive through, i can only ask how is it holding up to the abuse? Haha
I've heard that the clutch isnt the most robust, and that the rear wheel drive system doesnt like being abused a lot (which sounds pointless)
If you want to go offroad and climb up rocks with ease, just get a 4runner or something with a 4x4 transfercase.
The CRV had to be pushed to its limit in this video. Not a good thing to do.

its a gen 2 preface lift crv,in the uk they only came with 2.0 petrol or a 2.2 diesel

UK never got the 2.4 in the CR-V, only in the Accord. It might have had one fitted to it later though.

@@KsAdventures how is it awd? Honda refers to it 4wd real time. The rear wheels turn on if the front slip.
@@lel3450 it’s AWD. Part-time. 4wd means front, center and rear differentials and a transfer case, and except for a few examples, you have to switch it into 4wd.

@@lel3450 The CRV is AWD. AWD means it can be on-demand, like the CRV system, or it can be fulltime. But AWD does not include locking differentials and a transfer case. 4WD does. And with most 4WD cars, yes, you have to shift into 4WD.
The CRV doesn't require any shifting, nor does it have locking diffs or a transfer case. Which means it's an AWD vehicle.
