Tides of Time was the first ecco game I've beaten. The first one was hard, but this one wasn't as bad. Moray Abyss had such an awesome track. Next to Convergence and Tube of Medusa.
I always associated this song with a dark fear. It first plays in Moray Abyss where you fight the giant eels and then in Lunar Bay which is a really dark ocean full of vortex drones and unearthly beings. When I was younger, I could never get past Lunar Bay.
Lunar Bay is FULL of crush threats, especially in the auto-scroll portion of the level. It took me a few weeks to beat it as a kid. I memorized the autoscroll portion and enemy spawns perfectly by that time.
@@IAmBuddythedecibwave It's nothing compared to the autoscroller in the original Ecco the Dolphin which was a 5 minute long marathon, leading to the final boss. And if you lost to the final boss, you have to do the entire Autoscroll section again. Gamers of old learned to fear the saying... "Welcome to the Machine"
A phenomenal track on a criminally underrated OST
