Glad to hear there's confidence in The Alco's frames, as I seem to recall concern in some quarters back before the big pull across The Cob. One of those things, when you consider it's lasted a century longer than it was designed for!

Nice to hear from S&T and look forward to seeing Waunfawr in the new year. Is that bog going to call for more extensive attention at some point? Recalling Goat cutting during the closed years, I'm guessing it's not the only soggy location on the RhE.
ive never noticed beofre how unusually large Mountaineer's valve chests are
piston valve conversion. Required if running superheated steam - not sure if she's superheated or not though
