Great to see the Rainmaker getting such high praise. I need a new backpack and with all my research I think I'm settled on getting one. I know some say it's too bulky, utilitarian, "tacticool", etc. but that's what I want/like. Plenty of morale patch space, MOLLE for hanging small gear or adding extra functionally, and awesome general buying customization that sounds worth the extra time and money.
I got here through your Timbuk2 BP35 review. I loved the assortment of bags on your wall and decided to give this video a chance. Man... you weren't kidding about your list being different. Lol. I was glad to find out the name of the Rainmaker, which I saw in the BP35 review, it really stuck out. I have so many really good options to choose from now. I'm definitely subbing. Also, why do I feel an itch to collect bags all of a sudden? 😅
awesome list! we share similar needs in a bag - admin panel, bottle pocket, comfort so you got my attention with the addax. Taking a look at it now! Have you tried the Rickshaw Portrero? It's been on my list for some time but I have yet to pull the trigger....your list makes me think maybe I should go out and get it to try it!
Had the Jansport Hatchet for a few months. Liked the usability a lot. If Jansport collabed with a pack company and used better fabric/textiles, oh man, that'd be a great pack.
@@ThePerfectBag Yeah dude, and X-pac or Ecopak Hatchet. Droool. You might like the Mystery Ranch District series too, if you haven't gotten your hands on em yet.
I noticed you did not mention any of the Mystery Ranch backpacks. Their straps are top notch. However the Vanquest Addax-25 has really peeked my interest.
man i love your style of videos, kinda reminds me of chase reeves style a bit. however something I miss in your reviews that I wish was included ESPECIALLY in this one; would be maybe explaining your use of the bag and experience. You give a lot of objective information on each pack which is great! But knowing how the bag felt for you in whatever situation or trip and how it functions FOR YOU is super important too because I wanna know how your experience with the bag went. Just my thoughts generally but big fan will keep watching! Subscribed.
Hey thanks Alyx! I try not to over editorialize….because so much of an experience with bags is personal and i worry that my own personal use cases might not overlap with a large crosssection of the audience…but I’ll think about how I can get more personal stories in there. Also - if you have any bag that you ever want to know more about my experience - please comment or hit me up on IG and I’d be glad to chat about any bag any time!
Great review, good to see incase on the list. I have a super cheap 15 inch laptop backpack from incase that I got for like 15 bucks and still use it when I'm going light. Green room has been on my wish list for a long time and I have yet to get one of their packs but one day maybe. Gotta love a well thought out admin panel. 👍
A few things - and I’ve got some GoRuck videos. I don’t love the front pocket, I don’t love the laptop compartment, and I don’t love the price. Those bags are EPIC for rucking, but others are better for EDC & tech/office carry. Just my thoughts - they are certainly excellent bags!
@@ThePerfectBag I was going to suggest those since I did not see your videos on those bags yet. Solves the front drop pocket issue with the built in field pocket. And some like Bullet DC also have QAP. Packed out, my Bullet DC leans forward but stands. No Floppy Bag Syndrome. Still just one zipper on the laptop pocket.
I wish I could come shop all the bags you always have hanging on the walls in your videos so I could see every bag in one spot so I can pick the best one. And... Thank you for pointing out that lists when searching online don't point us in the right direction, only in the direction for someone else to benefit from us purchasing something even if it isn't the right bag for us.
Great video with some unique choices! I'm a bike commuter, so I'm wondering if you were biking about 5 miles one way to work in both warm & cold weather, which bag would you choose for that? Would the Vanquest still win?
Awesome. Well then I’d say the Vanquest is great. It’s lighter than it looks. The other one I would run a little higher on the list is that bag from Bravo co - it fits snugly and wouldn’t bounce around a lot. But take this with a grain of salt….I’m not a cyclist!!!
@@ThePerfectBag I've got both a small basket & a panier bag I can switch between depending on the situation, & I usually put the helmet there. Thanks so much for your quick replies!
Great question. I think the UAG is the best deal probably but the quality isn’t quite as good - so the Rainmaker is the best deal at $150 for the non custom version………but shipping is a thing. Used hatchets are easy to find for $30ish, so that’s great value too
@@ThePerfectBag lol, I have a rainmaker already, but I have the large version 😀 I used it for a personal bag on frontier and it worked like a charm for a three day trip.
I swear you could do Affiliate links. I and (no doubt) the rest of the community would love to support you. I like a lot your reviews, charisma and channel, if I'm going to buy something I look for reviews and those people who help me understand the product and if it's the right fit for me. One way or another it's sort of marketing for the companies product and you guys should reap a bit of that moving economy. Still thanks for being so transparent and cool about how you operate. Hope to see this channel continue to grow.
Thanks Jean! When I use an Amazon link I do get affiliate but I don’t want to take money from anyone who I am doing a review of. If I ever have a paid sponsorship I will be very crystal clear about that and I won’t be called a review.
I really don’t understand why it doesn’t get more attention- but I suspect it’s the lack of social media savvy and advertising from Vanquest. The website isn’t flashy, the social media isn’t flashy….but the bag is golden.

We are pleased to be in your collection!
Let's move forward!
Out of the 10 bags,7 of them are instant buy for me. What an amazing list
Yay!

Welcome to the channel!!!

Incase is forgotten by most but the quality is still there!
You're not joking about green room being so complicated to purchase, 😂 it's sooo detailed
I have a video on how I walked through it!
Great list. But missing the GoRuck bags (GR1, GR2 26, Bullet Double Compartment)?
Yeah - not a fan of GoRuck for laptop EDC. I’ve used almost all of their bags. Not bad, just not my favorite.
@@ThePerfectBag Curious as to your thoughts. Is it the lack of "admin" pocket? Price?
A few things - and I’ve got some GoRuck videos. I don’t love the front pocket, I don’t love the laptop compartment, and I don’t love the price. Those bags are EPIC for rucking, but others are better for EDC & tech/office carry. Just my thoughts - they are certainly excellent bags!
The smaller GR2 and double compartment bullet come closest for me to being really effective.
Thanks a lot for your videos !! I’m looking for a laptop backpack very very lightweight and simple. Any suggestions? Thanks bro!!
What’s your budget? Roughly?
Have you tried Yeti’s bag?
I have a Yeti backpack here but haven't tested it enough to review yet.
In terms of materials and finitions. It’s quite good. The only issue is maybe the accessibility to the main compartment due to their straps.
How much no 5 & no.1

Do you need weatherproofing?
@@ThePerfectBag Nope, I've got a couple different sizes of raincovers.

Awesome top 10. Its great to see your enthusiasm about bags regardless of price. How about top 10 sling bags video? Thank you for sharing.
Great suggestion! I'll put it in the pipeline!
Where would the north seeker rank on this list now?
I will be updating this video for 2024 soon
I fucking love u'r channel...
It's a fun, relaxing and interesting chamber on yt.
Thx dude
Great video! You got a follower
Thanks!!!!
killer content. muchos thankos for the wisdom
Thanks a ton. Appreciate you watching the channel!
is that a malaysian flag on your Rainmaker? love the vid
Yes. It is! I get the malaysian flag on all my greenroom bags when possible!
What's the black bag with yellow lines over your right shoulder ?
That’s a custom greenroom136 rainmaker
Do they do custom?
Yes indeed! It's on their website - WILDCARD CUSTOM BUILDER @@flytuc1
Thanks
Wow the addax-25 did pique my interest now, i have to agree, i have not seen anyone else even mentioning about this amazing backpack
Glad you saw something new!
Awesome review! I totally thought Greenroom would come in 1 but great choices!! Can’t wait to see if you do a top 10 for slings!!
Noted!
Which is the best bang for the buck in your opinion?
Excluding the CT21 (since I already have a few gorucks, don’t need that form factor)

been waiting for the multicam black 25l addax to restock for like 2 years lol

I think it's in stock my friend.
can you do Top 10 laptop sling bag plz
Yes!

Links in description but those bags are both in the $200 USD range
Any have a separate shoulder strap?
Like a duffel carry?
@@ThePerfectBag yes
Nope, not these backpacks - this list was focused on smaller EDC backpacks rather than larger travel bags.
new subscriber here. Can I ask, why the Malaysia flag patch for the Green Room 136? cuz I'm from Malaysia. :D
It’s an option the offer - Greenroom 136 is a Malaysian company and I wanted to pay homage to those makers by rocking the flag

no love for TNF?
Not on this list! Maybe in 2024!
