john laurinaitis was the one who suggested sid come off the top rope. guess who also suggested brock lesnar do a shooting star press at wm19? same dude.
As decent of a producer Johnny Ace was as hes one of ppl responsible for the match quality improving and letting the Wrestlers have more time in ring in 2000 and 2001 but some of his descions were just bad calls as one of the reasons he wanted Brock to pull that shooting star press according to JR was to take credit for the ending
That injury happened at the first ever WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view in May 2010 in Randy's match against Edge. That had multiple superstars get injured. CM Punk was another one who got injured that night in his match against Rey Mysterio (that was during Mysterio & Punk's feud in which CM Punk was attempting to recruit Rey Mysterio into his Straight Edge Society faction, yet their feud began all over the fact that Rey cost CM Punk a Money In The Bank qualifying match to go on & compete at WrestleMania XXVI(26)).
Maven did the same like RVD, broke his leg doing baseball slide during a match with Christian, and he continued the match until the end. What's worse is that he said he did baseball slide practically his whole life because he was a baseball player and only got wrong in his WWE run
Honorable mentions: 1. Christopher Nowinski (double missile dropkick). This happened at the Royal Rumble in the Rumble match. 2. Kevin Nash (walking across the ring to his opponents corner to knock someone off the apron). This occurred in July 2002 during a tag team match.
Orton's separated shoulder from just pounding the mat to set up an RKO should be on here. Same with Rock kicking out from a Cena move at WM29 and tearing his abs/adductor.
@4:45 christian also suffered a major injury doing a baseball slide. he suffered a high ankle sprain. doctors and athletes have said it is better to break your ankle than a high ankle sprain.
@@acetarlton4047 you ain’t lying. I managed to go the first 26 years of my life or so without breaking any bones. Then within a year and a half span broke 3, cracked rib, broken nose and broken hand. Never went to doctor for any, didn’t have any insurance at the time unfortunately. But they all healed in a few months or so. Then, shortly after the last, had a really dumb bicycle accident, where I didn’t break any bones thankfully. It was a pretty cool landing, as I basically did a baseball slide and managed to pop up and actually end up landing on my feet. My knee was a bit skinned up, but a week later after the sting of that stopped hurting, I started noticing a pain in my shoulder. That pain was the tendon torn completely off the bone. Over a decade later it still hurts, quite a bit. Surgery was recommended, but everyone I’ve ever talked to that had that surgery regrets having it. So I just deal with it. 😢
Hunter going through both matches with 2 separate quad injuries is an incredibly respectable feat and realky showed how much of a legit tough guy he was and how he was willing to put the business beyond his own health and wellbeing
Definitely getting it off with something terrible. I remember watching Sid snap his leg live back in the day. I was 14, and Never watched the clip again in the 13 years since, once is enough thank you.
The injury was so bad that he had to put a 17 inch rod on his broken leg and the doctors weren't even sure if he would be able to fully recover from it, but fortunately after around three years of rehab not only did Sid fully recover from the injury but also he was able to wrestle again.
I think it's easy to forget when they do it every week every year for decades at the highest level of skill and knowledge, but they're literally putting their lives on the line everytime they step into a squared circle
Me being a medic for almost 20 years and now a trauma nurse, injuries like the one Sid had don't usually bother me. But the more I watched it, the more I get that cringe tingling feeling in my body. Yeah...Definitely one of the worst injuries I've seen happen live
I wonder if Victoria's slap is what caused Beth Phoenix to be out of action for the rest of 2006 & most of 2007 until Beth returned during Summer 2007, that time as a heel(villain), joined forces with Melina & started to form her character shortly after as "The Glamazon."
Craziest part of Sid’s leg break is, I do t think they showed it on the PPV. Iirc, they cut away from it. But then, on Nitro, they showed it 5 times each from like 3 different camera angles.
Oh Yeah, 5:14 I remember this, it happened right when I first started watching AEW and I didn't really even know who FTR were at the time, when they came back they were literally "That team with the guy that tore his arm open" for about a week until I finally realized who they were. That feels like it was both not that long ago but also a really long time ago. 😅👍
I remember watching Nitro and seeing Sid come off the middle rope and land on his foot and it dangling there. that was insane!! of course that was just a recap from the previous nights PPV.
The match didn't exactly continue around Sid. Jarrett didn't keep working. JJ had been tossed out of the ring before the Bret's rope leap, and he didn't get back in until the match ended. The only working he did was posing after the match. Steiner had to stall for time while the mystery man, Animal, walked down to the ring. Steiner did a couple of moves which didn't require moving Sid (a foot choke and an elbow drop) and some push-ups. Also, given that Sid couldn't move, it wasn't "adding insult to injury" for him to take the pin; he had to take the pin. He was taking the pin anyway, presumably after being hit with a gimmick by Animal whose identity was hidden (and yet completely meaningless when revealed).
I thought the Simon Gotch story was about the time in NXT when Enzo broke his leg during some rote sequence and blamed it on the ring canvas being loose.
Bret Hart is not in the right. Goldberg has apologized several times. Hes also not the one who smacked his head on the concrete or tried to wrestle more matches after that one. Bret pushed an injury, it is his fault.
Don't forget Shotzi when she did the DDT on the ring apron against Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women's Championship on the February 20th episode of NXT. Ultimately out of action for the rest of the year as the injury bug continues to ruin everything
@@DeanMoxley87HHH wasn't high enough on the card to warrant that booking during the invasion. He didn't have that amount of clout until well after his 01 return.
john laurinaitis was the one who suggested sid come off the top rope.

but that was brocks finish in ovw so can see why they suggested that

Triple gay is full corruption
One I'll never forget is when Orton injured / re-injured his shoulder just from pounding his fists on the mat.
Or taking out the trash I think
That injury happened at the first ever WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view in May 2010 in Randy's match against Edge. That had multiple superstars get injured. If Kevin Nash becomes a vampire and lives to be 1000 years old, he'd still probably couldn't go a day without hearing quad jokes.
Ofc not he still gonna be breaking quads forever!
Maven did the same like RVD, broke his leg doing baseball slide during a match with Christian, and he continued the match until the end. What's worse is that he said he did baseball slide practically his whole life because he was a baseball player and only got wrong in his WWE run

Thats why Victoria's theme starts with "I ain't the lady to mess with" 😄

Bones heal really well; ligaments, muscles, and connective tissue….not so much

I can't believe Kevin Nash isn't on this list even once
*KEVIN NASH* :Making a hot tag!
Kevin Nash should have his own list
Hunter going through both matches with 2 separate quad injuries is an incredibly respectable feat and realky showed how much of a legit tough guy he was and how he was willing to put the business beyond his own health and wellbeing
Also when his larynx got crushed in the first Elimination Chamber match
And wrestled Brock at WM 29 after getting his torso burnt by dry ice during the damn entrance Triple H is tough as hell.
Definitely getting it off with something terrible. I remember watching Sid snap his leg live back in the day. I was 14, and Never watched the clip again in the 13 years since, once is enough thank you.
It was too painful to watch Sid like that.
Bret Hart telling Goldberg “you know this all pretend, right?” on Who Killed WCW? made roll on the floor laughing 😂
PAC (was Neville when it happened) also broke his ankle doing a baseball slide against Jericho
I still cringe when I see Sid literally snap his leg in half. I can’t imagine how long the recovery process must’ve been from that 😬
The injury was so bad that he had to put a 17 inch rod on his broken leg and the doctors weren't even sure if he would be able to fully recover from it, but fortunately after around three years of rehab not only did Sid fully recover from the injury but also he was able to wrestle again.
The dreaded non contact injury is usually the most devastating in sports
You forgot Randy orton injuring himself taunting for the Rko
I’m surprised Kevin Nash isn’t in this list.
Where is Kevin Nash: walking?
Super surprised PAC/Neville’s leg break in that match with Jericho wasn’t in here.
Kevin Nash: walking to tag his partner.
😂
Wrestling is dangerous wrestlers dont get enough credit
I think it's easy to forget when they do it every week every year for decades at the highest level of skill and knowledge, but they're literally putting their lives on the line everytime they step into a squared circle
Not only do they not get credit for what they do they also don't get paid enough for the things they do.
Im an absolute disgust when somebody uses the "F bomb" to describe wrestling. It's predecided, but it's highly athletic and highly dangerous.
@zanethind 👍

I was surprised Big Cass didn’t make the list. Tore his ACL going over the top rope and landing on his feet. Really standard big man spot.
Just imagine Van Dam vs. Awesome at that time. Would've been legendary.
New Day sitting there eating popcorn watching enzo unconscious was such a surreal moment
Damn victoria must have hands made of stone

I guess it would be more fun to traumatize the bigger audience than just the ppv buyers
2:32 never attempted to leapfrog again.
Edge in double or nothing 2024:
2:38 "That last part is probably almost certainly not true but it sounded dramatic"
Oh Yeah, 5:14

Remember Vince blading at SS 2003 he was litreally pissing blood everywhere and his face was a mess for a few weeks after that event.
I always wonder why Sid would jump off the second rope and deliver a big boot. He's 6 foot 9 inches! Should deliver a big boot no problem!
Honorable mention to Maven for breaking his ankle performing a baseball slide
Legend has it Kevin Nash tore his quad rolling over in bed. 😮
I remember watching Nitro and seeing Sid come off the middle rope
and land on his foot and it dangling there. that was insane!! of course

That edge injury was at the San Diego sports arena. I was in the first row. Knew it was bad as soon as he landed
"A slap from Victoria can easily shatter your jaw" just sounds like a foregone conclusion tbh
I wish Shanes Wrestlemania injury was there cause it was a simple leap
Surely Vince climbing into the ring and doing his legs in should be on this list?
Sami Zayn getting injured during his entrance is always one that I think about
Kevin Nash tore his quad by walking. Wrestling a serious business.
By walking 🤭
Calling it now, number one is Kevin Noah’s blowing his quad just walking.
Edit: The fuck?

I was expecting Sid to be number 1
Rob Van Dam got injured on my birthday
😢
It wasn't a wrestling move but I remember Ember Moon/Athena injured her foot during one of those 24/7 Title chasing segemets.
An honourable mention should go to The Undertaker suffering a concussion after taking a German Suplex against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX
r-truth also knocked out ted dibiase jr with a slap.
I thought the Simon Gotch story was about the time in NXT when Enzo broke his leg during some rote sequence and blamed it on the ring canvas being loose.
I'm surprised you didn't have Kevin Nash getting into the ring on here.
You forgot Kevin Nash running and breaking his knee in 2003
That should've been no.1
You missed Sami Zayn tearing a muscle during his entrance against Cena
Adam: Maybe this company (WCW) deserved to go out of business....
Me: You think?!
Adrian Neville also broke his ankle on a baseball slide
Beth Phoenix is a beast, and Victoria broke her jaw when a slap. Yes, it was an accident. But it's also proof of how strong Victoria was.
Bryan Danielson, Receiving an top rope elbow, AEW Forbidden Door 2023
Bret Hart is not in the right. Goldberg has apologized several times. Hes also not the one who smacked his head on the concrete or tried to wrestle more matches after that one. Bret pushed an injury, it is his fault.
I did not know they continued the fucking match and PINNED THE MAN WITH THE SNAPPED LEG!
What the actual fuck...
Poor Sid.
Edge did Shane McMahon at wrestlemania
Worst was Shane McMahon getting into the ring 😂
Don't forget Shotzi when she did the DDT on the ring apron against Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women's Championship on the February 20th episode of NXT. Ultimately out of action for the rest of the year as the injury bug continues to ruin everything
Seriously a warning before showing Sid's leg would have been nice
Man these injuries and others suck.
Rip Sid Vicious
Rhea Ripley... Bumping into a wall.
Wait, is buttered bread and boiled eggs something people eat together? Thats weird.
That was scary
I thought 9 out of the 10 would be Kevin Nash
Where's Kevin's quad tear?
Not even started video, tell me Kevin Nash is on the list?
Who said Enzo's name? Gotch isn't far behind...
What about kevin nash tearin a quad walking😂 or vince tearing both quads
I really wish Triple H didn't get injured
It was kinda a relief in 01, can you imagine how the Invasion Angle would have played out, Trips goes one on 60 and wins in convincing fashion.
@@DeanMoxley87HHH wasn't high enough on the card to warrant that booking during the invasion. He didn't have that amount of clout until well after his 01 return.

and then he broke his leg when he jumped from really high height despite knowing himself how stupid the stunt was.
Wrestle Me, SCHWING!
@8:48 I just lost all respect for you! You clearly only know how to upload youtube videos.
Misawa???
For every like this gets I'll do a elbow drop off the top rope.
@zanethind now it's five😂
old man punk got injured off a ddt hahahahah
69th view
Omg
WHY did you start with Sid WHY
How is Bret in the right? I loved him in the ring, but come on. At this point, he needs to get over it.
