Flew this in VR last night for first time. Caucas only for now. I'm definitely not running that cockpit fan since that realistic fan blade modeling has to be taking up some resources. Frame rate are not great but, none of the modules run great in VR in current state. VR in DCS is still an amazing experience. I will never flat panel again.
The prob is when you turn off Yaw AP or take over from the AI pilot the rudders are left offset, the only way to re-centre them is to reset trim which unfortunately also resets the cyclic trim. I have asked if we can have a separate bind to only reset the rudders. I have started a topic on the ED forums about the rudders. If you could give input as a content creator that may help. You can find the topic at this link. forums.eagle.ru/topic/274655-auto-pilot-yaw-strange-behavior/?tab=comments#comment-4706344
Im glad to see more people playing simulation games in VR. This Mi24 cockpit is really big compared to Ka50. Also you just can not see that beauty on 2D monitor.
VR is so bad for videos. I love this module. I dont get why everyone turns off the mirrors, i have a 3 year old PC and it runs fine with 1440p. Turned of Mirrors are so so ugly ;D.
Hi X-CHECK, may I ask - how do you get such a smooth (not jittery/ bouncy) VR headset recording when you talk? I believe you have the Reverb G2 like me. When I record and talk whilst in VR it makes the headset sort of jitter when I talk and that really becomes very apparent in the recording playback. To make it smooth I basically need to really concentrate on making very very smooth head movements and also basically not talk whilst I record :(
Guys lets play more in VR then ed will have to make more work on optimisation! Wags was talking about that fan so much but its and fps killer. We have to choose do we turn on main rotor blades or fan XD Its too funny and awful at same time.
I play both on screen and VR. I have to say that I was in a WOW mode when I started the MI-24 in VR. I did not notice any performance difference between this chopper and any other aircrafts, but indeed I do have a monster computer.
@@XCHECK sorry I think I did not explained my self correctly. The issue on seeing in one eye the blades is motion smoothness. Don’t turn it off as this is a way to gain FPS. Is the same as asynchronous reprojection. Is one of the issues the generate. But for gains in FPS are vast superior. With native resolution is impossible to run any oculus or g2 without them. With 2080ti I have my pd in steamvr 70 and that is incredibly in comparison of my old odyssey + Where do you turn it off is on the steamvr setting but be prepared for a slide show in FPS.
oh really? I have the same setup but can't find the right settings, it's awful, running between 20-25 fps. Motion smoothness? What do you mean? SteamVR reprojection off? I have it on off already.
Can I ask why you have a monster PC but just a T16000 HOTAS? Im not looking down on the T16000, it was my first HOTAS and it was pretty good, but upgrading to a VKB and then a Winwing was the biggest increase in immersion since I upgraded to the rtx3080. Having the "zero center cams" on the joystick base with an extension PLUS flying in VR is it suuper immersive. Highly recommend :) Also, if you use the Quest 2, you can get a SERIOUS performance boost by locking ASW to 45hz with the tray tool.. its soo smooth.
So I've learned the yaw autopilot will trim your rudders for whatever reason. I'm not sure if it is there to help you keep a certain heading but it's pretty annoying and I now fly without the yaw autopilot.
I run this heli in VR, I get none of the issues you do, specs are top of the line though. I play at full graphics as well… Syria is laggy in general though… I get quite a drop between it and Caucasus. I also never use the presets. You need to arm the rockets separately as far as I recall.
@@krostouin The HTC Vive 2nd gen (with the single umbilical cord), I run it with a beast of a PC on 4xSSAA. So I’d say my PC would exhibit any normal issues that aren’t due to hardware. Seeing different things with each eye is pretty normal -- the eyes see objects differently depending on whether they are advancing toward or away from gaze.
Have had problems not being able to release weapons & also petrovich target reticle disappears randomly even though he finds targets.. makes it impossible to then line the gunsight up for a shot.. overall its OK but has a good few bugs.
I believe the weird rudders you are experiencing might be the stick to trimmer button saving the rudder position. You can turn off this function in the options>special menu for the hind. I recommend keeping it on though as it reduces work load.
i got this performance issue while gunning too. i thing the deflecting bullets is impacting the most. while bullets running all is ok. after hitting and deflecting the mess began. if this cant be optimized it should be an option to turn deflecting bullets off and on.
Try hitting the trim reset button on touch down, it appears that the rudder autopilot is using trim to change the pedals so for whatever reason when you touch down off axis and turn it off it leaves the rudders in the trimmed position.
Oh -- you missed out on the Mi-8, huh? Yea, she WAS my fav out of the four, until Hind. Transition wasn't at all terrible. Also -- Try disabling RUDDER TRIM in the special menu if you haven't already. That might be your issue.
I was going to buy the Mi-8, but then I saw the Hind was coming... Pre-ordered that instead! No regrets c: I do have the rudder trim disabled, it seems this is just the rudder dampener working its magic. A lot of it lol.
@@XCHECK I enjoyed Mags more than Huey, which was somewhat surprising given her size, but she's pretty light on her feet, and much faster that the UH-1. As for the wallet, yeah, I know that feeling as mine has been in Witness Protection Program for some time now.

you make me sick when you say performance is a bit down at the beginning of the vid.....you have a RTX 3090 dude
It is what it is c:
to make landing easier don't let your decent rate faster than 5, but 2 is better.
I'm glad you're covering DCS :)

Yeahhhh I don’t think this will run in VR on my 3060ti and 1700x if it’s having a hard time running on a 3090 and 3900x.
If the f14 runs well I would say the mi24 will run better.
The f14 does not run well.

14:20 - Your rockets were not working not because of a bug, but because you did not press and hold the launcher arm button in the weapons panel

How's the FPS performance in VR today compared to other modules?
How does the gunner's sight work in VR?
There is a keybind for switching to the periscope - you can't just look down it unfortunately (like in the Viggen). So basically same as 2D mode.
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261 that’s sort of unfortunate. Is it just a 2D screen displayed in front of you in VR?
