In fact, the team in charge of wear assessment for the R26B that year said that the car was ready to race another 24 hours.

In a straight line (i.e. the Mulsane) the Mazda would walk the F1 car. Twists and turns, not so much. F1 has much better aero and is designed to be quick everywhere. That said, I still think the 787B would still out drag the F1 car on the main straight.
How about 24 hour race, just like Le Mans? How many F1-cars it will take? 24 hours is about 12 times one F1 race. Mazda 787B's engine could have last another 24 hours, that was seen after race inspection.
F1 V6 are the fastest ones.. and F1 are practically the fastest racecars on track.. but keep in mind that this 787b came out in 1991, and she still pretty fast against (3?) years old F1.. and im sure, theses F1 won't run during 24h..
