“A funny, knife-sharp odyssey.” A REAL PAIN. Written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg. Starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. Coming Soon. #ARealPainFilm
To 20+ Milion people around the world, EVERYONE who's families ever had to escape and emigrate from Poland, the country of theirs fathers - COME BACK! You are WELCOMED!
Interesting that they seem to be billing this at first as more of a "road movie". I thought it was a story of the American grandkids of a Holocaust survivor looking into her history on a trip to Poland. People may think it's lighter subject matter from this, but then again it's just the teaser. We don't get many Holocaust-associated road comedies...
Kieran in front of Jesse at 0:08, Jesse opens the door, Kieran behind Jesse eating peanuts, then Kieran back in front of Jesse...wtf, who edit this stuff lol
As a Pole I'm already nervous about this. "It was our country but they kicked us out because they thought we were cheap." Obviously not making any judgements based on the trailer alone but I'm worried they're gonna push a certain narrative that will make Poles seem complicit in horrible things. The performances seem great though.
@@moneytalksbyhjgwhite oh heavens no :) I mean the Americans (and Brits too for that matter) have a whole category of jokes where the punchline basically is that my people are stupid. This is the first time that a movie has been made about something to that effect 😉
Naah. I expect there is going to be plenty of good too. As every nation, we are a mixed bag. Talking about the shades of our past will help guide our future. It's obvious that there had to be Poles, who collaborated with Germans, but this only makes the courage of the "Righteous Among the Nations" more impressive. We must admit to the first to boast about the other. I will for sure watch this movie. Looks like a road movie that helps the characters heal personal trauma by reconnecting with their roots.
this is going to fill the roman roy void left in my heart
Somehow the dynamics between the two immediately made me think "Scott Pilgrim vs Poland"
Except that's Jesse Eisenberg and NOT Michael Cera.
@@Lowgarr I don't think there's a substantial difference.
This is the Darjeeling Limited of the modern day.

White British person here, this really your first time having people judge you because of your countries actions?

Did the poles commit a bunch of genocides? I think they did support atrocities 😂 truth hurts buddy

@@theblackgods4699 the truth is that Poles who supported the atrocities were in the very small minority. So no ... truth doesn't hurt 😉
Looks dumb
