OMG, I'm getting this for my sickly, little lab toads I rescued. Remember I told you the one always gets sores and redness? Also, metal won't rust if you just dry it.
I feel like we need to hear more about the bad barber story! Also, a genuine question: Would this run some of the same risks as other antibiotics (i.e. creating antibiotic resistant bacteria from overuse)? Or am I reading too much into the "-CILLIN" word ending? If so, it might mean that one should use caution for daily cleaning and some of the other more mundane uses that your video mentions, wouldn't it? I'm sure I am missing something and there is a lot more for me to understand about this. I look forward to learning more! 😊
@@ProfJCsCritters nope, it is not an antibiotic, it is a sterilisation agent. Its what your immune system uses to kill pathogens. It works on contact, has done for hundreds of millions of years, in all sorts of creatures with an active immune system. Use it every day, copiously. It saved our ponies eye and kept a bad open foot would on me clean and without infection. You can't use too much. It's freaking amazing but you have to discover your own reason to know its amazing.
I typed a reply that didn't post that was detailed 😢 It is not antibiotic, its a sterilisation agent. Its what leukocytes use to break open the cell wall of pathogens. It's worked for millions of years without resistance build up.
Glad to see you are well after your skin bbq 😊. Always great info and yes that's a must have for ALL reptile keepers as you never know when it may come in handy. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome!! I will for sure be buying these soon. Thank you!! I'm amazed that it healed your burn in 10 days! That's awesome. I'm so glad that it's safe and has so many uses
Remarkable. It almost sounds too good to be true.. I like the idea of cleaning the glass and misting nozzles. Effective yet gentile. Do you refrigerate yours?
No, just keep it out of direct sunlight. Been using it for years, it's great for all human, animal needs. I even brush my teeth with it if I want a REALLY clean mouth. 😂
Always nice when new options become available, especially that we can use for reptile health. So many of the most effective treatments are off label or have potential dangers if handled or applied incorrectly. Still waiting for a more widely available and not off label treatment for mites here in the US. If I ever needed it again, I can't get ahold of Provent-a-Mite in less than a week and it can't treat the animal itself. Predatory mites are hit or miss too. Fipronil is about it that I can get in a reasonable time but that is still off label, albeit pretty well tested and explored at this point.
Fascinating. Since it works for humans, amphibians, and reptiles, it’s probably safe for most pets… vet recommended Chlorhexidine Gluconate (at 2% in the diluted) for disinfectant for our cat. I use it when cleaning his ears in addition to open wounds. I’m always looking for better first aid options for our cat (this doesn’t sting, though he hates how it’s cold) because his skin is a bit sensitive and he scratches himself when scratching near his ears occasionally. Cats are considered hard because they bathe themselves, so everything has to be safe for them to ingest. Guess I’ll be calling the vet to ask next week about this one.
Do you think this works for coccidia? I had a sick beardie once, and had to disinfect a whole terrarium after he passed. The stuff I used to clean the terrarium with is called Life Clean and is supposed to be enviroment friendly, but holy crap, my lungs! I had a bad cough for over a week after 😣 I now have plants that was in his terrarium that I would like to use, and it would be awesome if this spray helps! (Glad your head is ok! 😅)
We use CleanSmart brand disinfectant for hand sanitizing and quick surface cleaning, which is also just hypochlorous acid. I didnt realize it could be used this broadly though. Im curious if it would be effective to nebulize it to treat respiratory infections.
My partner did this with her pony when he had severe lung infection. Yes it works. You need a vaporiser with no steel parts though as they will oxidise. Stainless and plastic.
same ingredient as Vetericyn, but I'm not seeing the concentration on Leucillin so i cant tell if they're identical. i love my Vetericyn for dogs, ill have to try leucillin too!
I often keep silkworm and they end up melting after a few weeks because of bacteria... i use rubbing alcohol as much as possible to keep things sterile, but this might be worth a try.. wonder even misting them directly can be effective?
Hey maybe someone could give me some advice, I got my first baby bearded dragon about a week and a half ago. I’ve done so much research since I wanted a bearded dragon when I was in high school in back in 2012. Ozzy is about 4-5 weeks old and is so good. He eats all his greens and loves his dubia roaches. He even loves to drink water when I give it to him from a syringe. But I feel like he basks more than he should. His basking spot ranges on his stick anywhere from 99-108 and I’m reading the UVB to be around 4.0-5.0
@ I feel like it’s almost all day. Maybe every 20-30 minutes he will come down check some stuff out look out the glass but most of the time I look he is chilling on his branch basking.
We've used it for years now. Full disclosure my partner contracts with the company but I dont. My personal experience is that this is a phenomenal product. It took me a year or so to get into it but when i saw what it did to a melting ulcer on our horses eye I was a convert. Then i near tore two toes off catching them on a tent peg. 2 inch wide, an inch deep, under the toes on the pad. 18hour wait in A&E 😮 no way, i could die from sepsis in 18 hours! i just went home and sprayed with leucillin and let it heal on its own. 😂
@DARKSAMUS386 it halted the infection and new tissue was growing into the hole within a week. This was after 3 weeks of 2 hourly dosing with antibiotics through a lavage placed through the eye lid. The vet was certain the eye was a gonner. They were... perplexed when they came back and it was healing up. A melting ulcer is an infection of the cornea where it literally dissolves.
GET LEUCILLIN:

Just ordered two bottles 😁

i wasnt joking when i said use it lol
i wander if it has any affect on parasites?
In the US Vetericyn has been sold for years. Same ingredients for those looking for an option. Great video giving other uses for it.
This is what my vet used for my Rina for scale rot. After a few months it was gone. Nice to see it get coverage
My vet also said about Leucillin for the leopard gecko

Cillin means little warrior in gaelic. So it's a match of the word leukocyte and Cillin.
@@noyzmunky Really? That's interesting. I assumed it shared the ending of penicillin.
@ProfJCsCritters maybe penicillin shares a gaelic root?

Wonder if it would work for shell rot

Leucillin is a log 7 and 300ppm Hypochlorous acid
Leucillin has a 300 parts per million so approximately twice the concentration
