Hi there, I am in the process of studying for the NASM CPT exam. I was scheduled to take it in a few days but decided to push it out to the latest date eligible since I have not been able to pass any practice exams. Now I have 6 weeks. Im close with a score 68-69. Feeling very frustrated. I am in my late 50's taking this on out of passion. I have had lots of involvement in sports later in life and am have become a certified yoga instructor. And took classes at community college last 2 years. So I have a good foundation but I feel like I am really struggling to get it all the information in the book processed to pass. I took notes on ALL your videos. Any other tips?
Hello everyone, I just passed my NASM exam last night and it was not as bad as everyone is making it out to be and studying does not have to be as dramatic as well. I did the self-study course and simply reading the material, taking notes on what does not resonate with you, and doing each practice quiz, section test, and practice exam 3 times will have you more than prepared. Make sure you are averaging 90+ on all of these before taking the exam, and always take notes on what you missed on the practice problems and study them. DO NOT JUST MEMORIZE THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS, if you do this you will fail, the exam is WORDED differently but the material is the same.
I think this is a good take on things. Try to understand the material instead of memorizing the questions and answers to the practice quizzes.
Looking to start in a few weeks, if all goes well. I’ll take any Advice you have
Any chapters that are more important then others ?
Thank you for sharing
Did you take it in person with others in the room or online?
Hi everyone!
I just passed my NASM test (04-27-24), and first of all, I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to this guy! I can't stress enough how INCREDIBLE these videos are for those who are about to take the test.
I went through the whole book before even thinking about “cheating” and studying only the important chapters 😂
But I promise you that I’ve learned more from this channel than from NASM material.
Besides the videos, I downloaded the material and did self-study, writing down all the things that weren't clicking.
The content this guy offers is GOLD!!! You don't need to spend money buying any other study guide.
One thing that I HIGHLY recommend is studying the corrective exercises or recommended exercises for specific types of populations (different distortions, obesity, hypertension, etc.)
GOOD LUCK TO ALL! 🍀
Congrats on passing! Glad you found the content helpful!
@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation thank you!! seriously, you’re the best! thanks for sharing this amazing content with us!
Hey everyone! I passed my test on 10/12/23!! These videos are INCREDIBLY important and they helped so much! I mean, I'm terrible at memorizing stuff but these vids are simple and easy to understand! I got lots of questions about OPT, underactive and overactive muscles (especially overhead squat assessment) , lots of balance and some about kids and elderly. I was listening to these vids over and over again every day on a repeat 2 weeks prior to the exam. Practice tests for me were confusing and sometimes didn't make sense, but overall they helped me too. I would also go to chapters you're least confident in and do the quizzes on those over and over. Overall the Final Exam wasn't difficult, but questions were worded completely differently. Once again thank you so much for doing these vids, they are a lifesaver!!! I'm definitely recommending them to everyone who wants to pass.
Congrats on passing! Thanks for your support!
hello! did you get the Nasm online course ? or only studied using these videos?
@@okanzeybek3762 I got the courses as well. Just like it says in the videos, the online studies are super important. I did self studying.
Thank you! I passed my exam today ❤
I do not believe I would have passed without your videos.
Congrats on passing! Glad you found the videos helpful!
Watched both parts twice and passed the exam. That was all the studying I did so great videos!
Congrats! Great work!
Did you take any practice exams?
Whoa!!!! 🤯
Passed today. Your two parts plus practice tests and reading the official study guide is honestly the formula to pass. I was so anxious about it but if you follow those steps I promise you’ll pass even if you don’t feel the MOST confident. If you actually put in time you’ll pass.
Congrats on passing! It sounds like you worked hard and did the right things! It’s a tough test but it’s worth putting in the time.
@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation truly saved
hi where can i see the practice test? is that the one in Nasm?
What’s good bro? How much of the book did you read?
I'm also curious on whether or not you read the book.
My exam had a lot of scenarios involving overactive/underactive muscles, progressions and regressions in balance and core exercises. I got zero joint or bone questions. Not too much on OPT. It was hard. Completly differently worded than practice exams.
These videos helped a lot! Thank you!
I passed.
Congrats on passing! Glad it went well for you!
I cannot thank you enough for your videos! I took and PASSED my Nasm exam this morning!! The last several weeks I’ve been digesting your content especially for my exam coming up. You made it easy for me to understand and grasp the concepts fully.
Thanks again! I appreciate you. Your time and attention to making these videos for us.
You’re the best! 💪🏼😁
God bless!
Congrats on passing!
Just passed my test. Thank you so much dude this was a huge help. If you read over the book one time over, watch these videos a few times and take the practice exam a few times and take notes on what you missed, you’ll pass easy.
Congrats onnpasing! Glad you found the content helpful!
Just took my NASM exam and passed with what I’d assume was flying colors! Watched part 1 and 2 once a day for 2 weeks straight before the test and by the day before the exam I felt like I was listening to a broken record because I knew every word that was gonna be said before it was said. When I finally took the test it was the easiest thing ever and I knew the answers to the questions before I finished reading them, thank you so much for putting these videos out they are better than the resources provided by NASM!!!
Thank you very much for the kind words and congrats on passing so easily! So glad the videos helped you!
Now that's a ringing endorsement.
Just passed the NASM.
Can honestly say the test was easier than the quizzes on the actual online course.
Good luck everyone
Congrats!
Wanted to post asap...took my test yesterday 7.11.23 Lots of over active and under active, SMR & progressive exercises. Was NOT easy. I can't believe unless you have a background in health or a photographic memory passed it in a week. Too many specific NASM terms. Study. I passed. One of the reasons I felt more prepared is video's like these. Thank you Sort of healthy.
Congrats again! That’s a big accomplishment!
Just passed my NASM exam this morning and I wanted to share what questions I saw most on the test!! I watched this video as well as part 2 for about a week. I also went back and looked up some of these key points in the book as well and it really helped me!! This was my first attempt taking the test!
I will say I saw A LOT of questions on overactive and underactive, there were behavioral questions & questions on the stages of change. I saw questions on what workouts a person can superset (opt model) so definitely have a general idea of different exercises and what level of the opt model they go in. There were some business questions, know the difference between subjective and objective. There were a few questions on what exercises to use for ppl with hypertension & obese clients, so have a general understanding of that info. There were blood pressure questions as well, so know that info (systolic, diastolic, and the different numbers for hypertension etc) Basically everything in this guys 2 part series will help you pass!! I recommend watching these videos over and over and get someone to quiz you on the slides from the downloadable study guide and you’ll do great!
Thanks for the support and congrats on passing! There’s a lot of good advice in this post!
This part 1 and 2 series of the NASM CPT Cert Exam were was GOLDEN! They need to hire you as an instructor or maybe CEO! Just passed my exam with your help. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the kind words! Congrats on passing!
Just wanted to pop on here to say that largely thanks to your study guides, I PASSED my NASM CPT exam yesterday!!! Your guides and the way you communicate and show the information helped clear up some areas that I didn't fully understand, as well as, giving me the extra confidence I needed. Thank you SO much for making these videos!!!
Congrats on passing and welcome to the field! I’m glad you found everything helpful! I appreciate the kind words!
I just passed my exam this morning🎉 I had not been studying as much as I should have at all, and I actually forgot that my exam scheduled for this morning at 6am until yesterday. Last night and this morning I watched part 1 and part 2 and replayed parts that I didn’t grasp as well and reviewed all the slides on his website about 45 min before my test. Thank you so much for your helpful content!!
Congrats on passing!
Passed my exam and honestly these videos helped TREMENDOUSLY!! Thank you so much! I went through so many UA-cam videos and these Part 1&2 videos were by far the best! Really focused on OHS and OPT model! Take the practice exams I had a few questions that were the same questions from the practice exams just worded differently.
Glad you found the videos helpful! Congrats on passing!
Liked, sub'd and really enjoying this crash course. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for your support!
Passed my NASM CPT exam today! These videos were a fundamental process during my studies. The information was incredible and extremely understandable, thank you to the creator for breaking down the information to a comprehensible level that isn’t overwhelming! Best videos I came across and I look forward to utilizing the rest for informational purposes❤️
Congrats on passing! Glad you found the videos helpful!
Just passed my exam last night (11/20/23). Holy guacamole, Batman! That was not an easy exam. Jeff, I know you said don't just use your videos for studying, but I basically did just that this last week. I'm a procrastinator! Well, it worked. Thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos. They were easy to understand and follow. I had these videos on repeat for hours everywhere, whether on my lunch break, at the gym, or at home.
There were a ton of questions on the OPT model, and the assessments (overhead squat primarily). One thing I would suggest that would be helpful is to learn the basic anatomy. I believe Jeff has two videos on this (upper and lower). Knowing the location and basic functions of the muscles will help with the assessment questions. Also, don't just memorize these key concepts. You have to understand them for the exam. They definitely worded the questions differently from the practice exams, but understanding the principles really helped.
Thanks again for everything! These videos were clutch, bro!!!
Congrats on passing! Thanks for the breakdown too!
you’re incredible! literally only used your two videos and the NASM summarized study guide to study!
for anyone taking the NASM course pretest over and over STOP. it’s absolutely nothing like the real exam, it’s like 500 times harder.
I'm so glad you found them helpful!
You talking about the Nasm CPT practice exam?
I haven't taken my exam yet, but as a person who over-studies and tries to learn from multiple sources, I want to say: WOW! I have been watching a ton of different videos over the last couple of months and as far as videos that are specifically made for NASM CPT test yours are by far the best! You go at a good pace not causing boredom but still not to fast to keep up. You aren't going straight from the book (I have the book I don't need someone else to read it to me) but you are putting key definitions on screen so it is easy to pause and make flashcards. I will definitely be using your videos through test day! THANK YOU!
Thanks so much! Glad you find the videos helpful! Best of luck!
I want to say Thanks to your detailed videos( Part 1&2 and all muscle anatomy videos) used in connection with the NASM training videos and practice test I was able to successfully pass my CPT Certification today 7/1/23. Thank you for producing quality videos to understand the information easily.
Glad you found them helpful! Congrats on passing!

JUST PASSED MY NASM! I can’t thank you enough man. Listened to you so much I could quote you like my favorite movie😂Guys the exam is NOT as bad as it sounds. My test anxiety sky rockets but when I got to question 1 it went away.. Overactive muscles, Under active, Stretches, Regression and exercises to do with different populations were a good bit on my test .. Blood pressure and Knowing which muscle to stretch or strengthen were pretty vital. You guys it’s NOT as bad at it is .. listen to this vid and print out the NASM study guide and review all the very important listed information
Congrats on passing and welcome to the field! There’s good advice/info in this post
謝謝你的講解,對我準備考試的幫助很大!

Just Passed my NASM exam today! Studied for about 2 weeks and your videos were so incredibly helpful! Thank you!!
Congrats on passing!
What type of chapters they asked for
very helpful videos. Watch them basically everyday the week leading up to my exam and just passed it first try earlier today. Thank you!
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Thank you so much for putting the time into making these study guide videos! They're extremely helpful getting me prepared to take my exam next month!
Thanks for the support! Keep studying hard! I’m sure you’ll pass the exam no problem!
Thank you so much, you are a gem in this world
Thanks for your support!
Hi Everyone!
I passed my exam TODAY! I was convinced that I wouldn’t pass and would have to use my retest voucher, but I didn’t need it!
Things I used to study:
- This video & Part Two (watch it on repeat until it becomes engraved in your brain)
- the study guide he offers
- NASM’s study guide (keep an eye on the items they deem ‘important’
- also take the practice exam as many times as you can! I took it about 10 times and failed 8/10 of those times. The final two times, I passed (barely). But seeing a wide variety of questions and keeping an eye on repeating concepts (mentioned in these videos) really made a difference!
Thank you so much!
Congrats on passing and welcome to the field! I’m glad the guides were helpful!
How do you take the practice exam?
@@williamdickenson9514 I accessed them through my NASM online course
Where can I find part 2? I don't see a link in the description
@@ryan29550 here’s part 2: ua-cam.com/video/qX3j9EyPkMA/v-deo.html

Passed my exam yesterday on the first try! Your videos were great, thank you for the content. I truly helped me!
Congrats! So glad you’ve found them helpful!
Thank you for the videos. I used this & part 2 as a refresher after procrastinating on scheduling my test for the last 2 months. You touched on some things that I kind of forgot about, which actually showed up a few times on the test. I passed last night! To future test takers: The final exam covers the same material; It’s just more of having you apply the concepts, rather than just knowing the definition of the terms like on the practice test.
Congrats on passing! Glad you found the videos helpful!
Thank you so much for synthesising the information. You did an amazing job! I must say that I read all the chapters, took all the quizzes and end of section exams but your study guides helped me bring it all together. As of Monday, I am officially a certified CPT. Great job and thanks again!
Congrats on passing your exam!
passed my exam on the first try today! watched part 1 & 2 twice, took the practice exam like 5 times, & right before looked through the videos + my notes one more time. it wasn’t bad at all & tbh i may have over studied a bit but these videos were definitely my biggest help. thank you for this.
Just passed! Just wanted to say thank you for your study guides it was very very helpful.
Great to hear! Congrats!
Thanks to your videos I passed the exam!
Great job!
Passed my NASM CPT 7 Exam yesterday! Video helped a lot. Thanks for sharing
Great job!
Thank you so much for these videos bro. Big help
Of course! I’m glad you found them useful!
Thank you for these videos as they are very detailed and great for people like me who did not buy any resources except for the textbook. I went to school for exercise science, so my background mainly helped me with passing the exam on my first try today. I will say that my content included only 3-4 questions about the OPT model, but far greater questions about movement assessments, overactive and under active muscles, and NASM code of conduct. In my case, it was a matter of knowing a little about every chapter. For those trying to take short cuts, it is best to know all contents of the textbook.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I appreciate it! Congrats on passing too!
Just took my exam and passed first try! Really appreciate you and these videos my man!!! Lifesaver
Congrats on passing!
Hi
After watching your video it looks easy to pass the exam as you talk straight what need to be done without wasting the time. They are easy to understand and full of knowledge .
Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! Hope you do well!
I just took my exam this morning and PASSED it!🎉🎉🎉 I got my exam expiration date mixed up and realized that I had less than a month to prepare. I pretty much read all but about five chapters and listened to NASM CPT podcast. Of course that’s a lot of info to retain and I felt a bit overwhelmed. The day before my exam, I found these two videos and I felt a lot more prepared and ready to take the test. I wish I would have found these videos earlier. Thank you Jeff!
Great job! Congrats on being certified!
What 5 chapters did you read ?
Thank you bro...Videos are game changers. Super helpful. I will be taking my cpt test in January. You are the man.
Best of luck!
Well-explained, organized, and informative.

Great job! Congrats!
Just passed my exam! In large part because of these review videos. Very well put together and much, much easier to understand and digest than the textbook, which I read all the way through but retained next to nothing. Thanks Sorta Healthy!

I passed my nasm exam!! Thank you for the helpful studying videos, it truly helped me understand concepts I didn’t catch the first time from the book!
Great job! Glad you found the video helpful!
Thanks for this video. It was very helpful. I passed my test yesterday on my first try
Congrats Sasha!
Wanted to stop by and say Thank you for taking the time to make both of these videos they were super helpful and guided me towards passing my exam today ! I read the book then focused on chapters 6,7,11,12,13,20,21 along with ur videos which helped a lot . The test included a lot of over active and under active , OPT , and SMART questions . A few questions that threw me of were on when to breath in or out during a concentric and eccentric movement but it’s common sense but nevertheless THANK YOU ! 🎉🙏🏽
Congrats on passing!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your comprehensive 2 part review! I took my NASM CPT Exam last Friday and passed with flying colors! you made the material relatable and easy to digest! amazing videos and teaching! Thank you again! I watched your lectures 2-3x over with ample notes and when it came time for the real exam it was a cake walk! thank you again!
Congrats on passing! So glad you found the videos helpful!
I passed on my first try today on august 9th 2023 the first and second video and the study guide are what you need to study for the exam.Give yourself two months to the study these materials after your done with all of your chapters. I can’t thank you enough now I start a new chapter on having my own personal training business one day
Congrats! It sounds like you put in the necessary work!
Sadly don't have two months. Only got a month. All chapters is not needed
I passed last week after stressing out so much!!! My biggest advice would be to actually go over the entire book (not read the entire book) and there is many videos on UA-cam that go over each chapter in detail (about one hour each) that is easy to watch and follow along. After that, watch these videos to really get it cemented into your brain. And I mean watch these videos at least 10 times each and take notes. The most important things to know for the exam is the OPT model, behavioral changes, and overactive/underactive muscles especially for overhead squat posture deviations. But instead of memorizing every postural deviation, just make sure you know pes plantus syndrome (knee valgus), lower crossed syndrome, and upper crossed syndrome. If you know those 3 and the oactive and uactive muscles for those, all other deviations will be very similar and easy to choose from multiple choice questions. Jeff, I cannot thank you enough. You made an overwhelming process understandable and exciting to learn.
Thanks again for the kind words and congrats on passing! For those seeing this, this is good advice.
Just took my NASM CPT exam 2 hours ago & passed, thanks to you!!
I only read the book and did the practice tests but some concepts just would not stick & this video (+ part 2) helped me process and understand so much better. Thank you thank you!!!
Congrats on passing! I’m really glad to hear that our content helped to make some of those concepts easier to digest.
I watched this videos religiously the week leading up to my exam and I just passed!!! These helped so much!

Fantasic review videos. I just did my proctored exam a few hours again and PASSED. Truthfully, these videos are incredibly thorough and helpful. First, I read the course, took all the tests and read NASM’s study guide. I found it daunting and stressful to do it that way. These videos helped make the information CLICK for me. Watch both, takes notes on his notes and review those. Helped a TON! Thank you!
Ps. I found the practice tests to be MUCH HARDER than the actual exam.
Glad it helped! Congrats on passing!
Shoutout to you Jeff. Just passed my exam about 20 minutes ago and probably watched this video and part 2 20 times and you were a massive part of my studying and my success on the test. Thank you so much and I encourage others to review these as much as possible.
