"Unit 7" Emmet Cohen - Piano Peter Bernstein - Guitar Russell Hall - Bass Kyle Poole - Drums Video: Andrew Ruiz Sound: Kelvin Grant tfsoundworks@gmail.com
The piano is the King of all instruments. Al of the notes are laid out before you and can be played one at a time or all at once. The guitar is the princess. She's curvy, twangy and electric and comes in all sexy shapes, sizes and colors.
There is time lag in Peter Bernstein's playing. Little bit of a lazy drag. I think that it comes from being too relaxed when he's playing. I don't think he's aware of it. Someone needs to point this out to him. Sounds as if there's not enough tension in his guitar strings but this may not be the reason. I think that if he has better posture when sitting this would help him to be more alert. I've also heard him playing at another venue on UA-cam where he was standing qnd I noticed the same elements about his music He is a very talented musician but changes in the direction I mentioned would unleash the best qualities of his music.
What shoes would you suggest he wear to improve his playing? How about hair color? Should he scrap that silly guitar and get one of the cool Day-Go ones you make, one with the right string tension? I'm going to adopt some of your suggestions myself.
Russell Hall killing it! Big warm sound. Swing!
I wonder what Sam Jones had in mind with that title: science fiction, a condo apt, a robot, a college course, etc
The most honest tribute to Wes and Wynton Kelly I’ve heard to date - big thanks
So true. You point it very well.
Someone needs to write a tune called 'Emmet's Place' too 😉 It's also bound to be a banger!
Peter... increíble

I hear a thousand club dates during Peter's solo.
Fantastic association. Love the Emmet Cohen trio, fantastic rhythmic session. P. Bernstein join pretty well here.
Great 60' Blue Note feeling here 👌
Excellent performance! Loved the upbeat solos. And I wonder about the title, too.
