Keep in mind guys, whenever SHM did a video in studio it was always a rented 'big room', to look sexy. They've admitted openly - as have most EDM producers - that most of their material comes together on a laptop with a single piece of software and plug-ins. They may add in some special parts using expensive (or not so expensive) outboard later on in post-production, but all you need is Logic, FLS, Pro Tools etc. and a good selection of soft-synth plugins and samples.
Axwell has the biggest hand in the EDM world. Axtone records is known for producing the BEST tracks. He has already produced TIMELESS tunes like. 'In My Mind', 'Ressurection', 'Greyhound' and he has the best hair.
This is electro house at it's purest form. From the late 90s to the mid 00s it all accumulated knowledge to this fucking track, so thank you Oizo, Benassi Brothers, Justice and so many others of pushing the genre forward up until this and thank your SMH for delivering this
When I listen to 3;43 I remember an interview where Seb said SHM had like 30 unfinished projects... hope part of that material would be released at a point

What's so hard to believe that a capable DAW + capable plug-in instruments aren't enough to create killer tracks? Do they often get mixed down on a big sexy SSL and a room full of outboard? Yeah, sure...but production wise, it's nearly always ITB 80-90% of the way. Maybe a special outboard box or two to fill out a track. DONE!
FWIW...the room that Steve bought is a project studio. It's NOT classified as a "big room" as it doesn't have a world-class console, outboard or monitoring setup. That's not a slam, just fact. And I never said that they didn't go to big rooms for finishing touches. Most acts - major or indie - do as well. What I'm saying all along is that a vast majority of producers today are "building" their tracks and song ideas on laptops or a least small-scale computer systems using plugins and such.
not really. the studio that they used in the video for leave the world behind was bought by steve angello. also they dont do it just to look sexy, they use the rooms to finish their tracks and make them sound good because the sound system and gear in the studio gives something that you cannot simply achieve with a laptop. axwell even said this himself. you need a little bit more than just a laptop.
