Thanks everyone who gave me suggestions.

I absolutely LOVED Pacific Rim's ending. My mom and friends were SO frustrated tho! Coming out of the theater they fumed: WHAT ABOUT THE KISS.
Meanwhile in my little aromantic teen head I was like "Yes. That's it. That's the PERFECT ending"
I love that their relationship wasn’t romantic. It was just platonic. I can see them in a qpr though
Yes this and Tron Legacy have always been on my mind because they bothe end without a kiss.
the way i figured out i'm aro/ace is when some sexual/romantic moment in a movie happens, i laugh
3:46 That scene gave me a goofy grin. It’s so sweet, and shows that romantic love isn’t the only kind of ‘real love’ out there.
I think Anne with an E made a great job showing that romantic love is not the only one that matters. Friendship and family can be deep too.
Anne is so perfect. She accepts Matthew so openly.
JO AND ELSA ARE MY AROQUEENS
Yes! Thank you for including the scene from Frozen 2. Elsa is an AroAce in my mind. Rwby too. It made me so happy that they didn't make out at the end of Pacific Rim. You should include the scene near the end of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 where Star-Lord and Gamora just hug instead of kissing or when Star-Lord complains that she won't make out with him and she's like "I don't know what Cheers is!"
SAME Elsa is totally aroace
Too bad 90% of people think she is a freaking lesbian even though she literally has never been shown any hints of liking girls
@@cherryspice1011 Elsa is aro ace to me
So is saiki from the disastrous life of saiki K in my aro/ace trio of brain cells
that last scene from pacific rim makes me so happy, and it doubles knowing that people expect a typical heterosexual relationship out of the two when the whole point of the movie is about deep, intimate, but atypical bonds between people that aren’t as prioritized as cishet relationships. I know there was that one scene in the beginning where mako checks his body out, but I just chalk it to production forcing it in when it’s not necessary to the actual canon plot. so for me this is peak aro culture.
The big O/square almost made me cry, this story was simple but so beautiful
That last scene in Pacific Rim makes me so happy. Relationships in stories don't have to be romantic to be important and real. I also LOVE the modern Little Women scene with Jo and Laurie because it is very clear she's either ace/aro or gay, like the author herself probably was, based on her letters.
Didn't she fall in love with professor at the end?
@@scheimaa172 Yes, Jo does, but only because the author was told by her publisher that she had to give Jo a love interest. So it's still canon, and I adore the love story, but I also love knowing that Jo was meant to be happy on her own, just like Louisa May Alcott was.
I'm proud of all the big O's in my life
The missing piece story made me tear up with joy.
Thank you.
Was not expecting Yona of the Dawn to be here, but I am pleasantly surprised.
me too!!
jo march made me feel so seen
Don't forget part three
4:40 pretty much 2 aros just vibing and i love that
oh that scene from elementary stop stop im tearing up thats literally all i've ever wanted someone to say to me ... adopting is one of my biggest dreams
If you do another one of these, you should do clips from The Good Place. There's a character named Michael who I headcanon as AroAce. He says he can't feel sexual or romantic attraction towards humans(he's a demon), and at another moment of the show he expresses his disgust of kissing.
Sure! I'm happy to take suggestions. Let me know which episode and the time of the scene and I include it.
Mashing of the food holes!
YES YES YES MICHAEL IS 10000% AROACE IN MY MIND
How I did not think about him before???!
I put that clip in my latest video
When the doctor talks to donna the iconic "i just want a mate" scene gives me major aro vibes
The Missing Piece was my favorite book when I was little 😭
oh, i dunno how i'd forgotten about Jo from Little Women! there are other scenes with her that felt very aroTM to me, especially towards the very end when she goes to the publisher, can't get published because the heroine is happily unmarried, and changes the script (but as per my headcanon, not her life). it might not really be clippable for your series, though.
also, i've heard that Raphael from Shadowhunters is aroace but i haven't seen that much of it and am not intending to, so someone else would have to dig for it. and if you're looking for non-traditional romantic relationships or examples of great platonic ones then maybe Pose FX would have some. not so much aro stuff though, so i'll have to think about what would stand out
Sure just give me an episode number and timestamp and I'll add it for part 3 🙂
Very true!
Raphael is ace not aro I believe as he as interest in a shadow hunter (it's been a while and I'm not good with names)
Thanks for compiling these~
yessss this is the shit i need to be alive
oh yes, the "Yona" Scene ... Love that Manga so much!
I’ve never felt so seen
The first scene makes me want to read the book even more lol that is EXACTLY how I feel whenever someone had feelings toward me except I was never able to put my foot down haha somehow I subconsciously made myself fake feelings until I realized hey i don’t like them like that and then I felt like a terrible boyfriend because I led them on even if i didn’t mean to and ugh it took me WAY too long to realize this
I've read the book and I don't get as strong aro vibes from her there. On the other hand the man she marries in the book is much older and kinda unattractive so it was a way for the author to push against the demand for a love interest for her.
@@SofiaBuhrgard what’s the name of the book please
@@karimsabrin1333 the name of the book and the movie is Little Women
@@SofiaBuhrgard thank u so much
All these scenes❤❤
And also akatsuki no yona too❤
I don't know if I ever felt more understood. haha
I HAVE THAT TRIANGLE CIRCLE BOOK AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
1:06 OH MY GOD I RELATE SO MUCH TO THIS
amazing work, thank you so much! i'd suggest that ending scene from rogue one, where they just hug instead of kiss? always had aro vibes to me
Thank you for fueling my soul
hey , i really like these compilations, not many people make content on aromantic/ aro-aces, Id like to suggest a character Senku, from DR stone who's an aro-ace- he says that romance is a waste of time and doesn't show interest in either guys or girls.
There's also a novel character called Cale Henituse from Trash of the count's family, who doesn't show interest in romance either- he just wants money and wants an easy life.
I have another personal headcanon - Kim dokja - a bi aromantic(or bi aro-ace) who likes the idea of QPR not necessarily using that term, but just wants close companions and comrades (I mean there's literally a guy who he calls himself to be life and death companions, there's a lot of jokes regarding them being a married couple an all 😂,) Also he never really showed any interest in marriage or romance, just likes a little tease but rarely and wants to live with his companions in a large house. If that ain't peak aro-ace culture then idk what is (He's from a novel Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint)
I also have two songs that are aromantic in nature- if u want i can suggest them
Thanks for the recommendations ☺️
If you want them included in part three I'm gonna need scene suggestions. Let me know an episode number and timestamp. Alternatively book/issue and page number if it's a book/comic.
@@devinaghose9318 I have a hard time he says romance is a waste of time in every episode
@@devinaghose9318 light novel or web novel is fine. But I'll need a page number
@@SofiaBuhrgard Hi so for Trash of the count's family, there's a manhwa, so on chap 30, there is a scene where, the priestess says do u have a desire to get to know a older sister with good personality? and he says no, and the guy says what about a older brother with good personality, he again says no,- so that part is there
The rest I couldn't find, if I do , I will get back to u- :)
Thanks! About Senku, I think another person already suggested a scene from the anime with him
Thank you for including pacific rim!!!!!!
i love this 💚 my suggestion for part 3 is josh from please like me, he's presented in the show as gay but he also gives me some gray aro vibes
Great! I'll need a suggestion of a scene to be able to include it though. If you have a suggestion send me episode number and preferably time stamp.
@@SofiaBuhrgard in the very beginning of s01e04 he says he's broken up with a guy because "he was too nice", and also there's a scene on s03e09 20:20 when he tells Arnold thats he loves him and how not frequently he falls in love with someone, it's a very beautiful moment actually
@@leticianegrello8668 thanks! I'll check it out
I added your suggestion to my third video
You should totally check out saiki k! He’s aro ace :)
I've gotten the suggestion many times but most people refuse to suggest an actual scene. Without that I can't do anything.
I love it!
Love this!
YESSSSSSSS
Elementary's Sherlock is basically canon grayromantic (just without calling it that)
Where's the clip from at 1:12 ? Name of movie?
Don’t know if you’ve done this but that scene in pride and prejudice 1995 with Charlotte Lucas
Which scene is that. I haven't seen it.
@@SofiaBuhrgard She’s talking to Lizzie after agreeing to marry Mr Collins, and says “I’m not romantic you know. I never was. I ask only a comfortable home”
@@danhurl1349 sounds like a great fit. Around what time in the movie is it?
@@SofiaBuhrgard ok so it’s actually a mini series and I’ll see if I can find the episode and the time stamp for you real quick
@@SofiaBuhrgard alright I found the scene on UA-cam, but I haven’t found the actual scene yet ua-cam.com/video/kWo3PlnR9Wk/v-deo.html
I like to headcanon Lapis Lazuli and Peridot from Steven Universe as in a qpr (opposed to when I used to vehemently ship them, lol). I personally see Peridot as ace (that's kinda obvious with the fusion thing :D) and Lapis as aromantic, although I have yet to rewatch the series so idk if it goes well with the canon anymore :// Thoughts?
I've not watched it but I've seen others say peridot being aromantic
Can someone tell me what manga 5:45 comes from please ?
Akatsuki no Yona
1:48 someone knows the name of this serie plisss
RWBY
Wait how’s the last one aro?
Cause there's no end of the movie kiss. Do you think touching forheads is a romantic gesture?
@@SofiaBuhrgard Well.. they did look at each other, smiling sweetly, and that touching foreheads moment speaks to me things like "everything is fine now and we can relax", "i trust you" and "we did it".
Haven't seen anything other than that clip, I can just assume they are in love. If they were on a deadly situation (aka being lost at sea or in a war), kissing... isn't the choice I would go for.
Foreheads touch anothers body when receiving a big hug, so it's... a friendly gesture more than a romantic one? That's why it's aro?
I'm here to understand, that's my opinion, a nonaro opinion. I have doubts and I don't want to be mean. I just have difficulty understanding.
Sorry but I've been bad mouthed for asking so many times that I need to say that I just genuinely want to understand...
@@kleislikes1589 there's no clear line between romantic and platonic gestures. Too me it seemed like something one would do with a close friend.
Why couldn't close friends want to communicate that they are relaxed and trust each other?
@@SofiaBuhrgard If that Pacific Rim clip isn't enough to me watch it, I don't know what will. Thank you for including it.
@@SofiaBuhrgard I definitely thought the aro moment from that scene was the guy on the walkie talkie asking if they were okay and trying to get their attention while they were having a ~moment~ - which resulted in them ignoring him (I’m currently unsure of whether I’m aro-spec or not but am definitively ace, and I was getting frustrated with them not taking a second to confirm they were okay, haha!). However, this clip is the only thing I’ve seen from the movie, so I read it as a romantic gesture because of the sexual and/or romantic subplot trope in action films. I could’ve also been missing some context and/or character cues.
Though I see your reasoning for including it (based on the lack of the final kiss scene). I’d love for such affectionate gestures (the forehead touch) to be normalized in media as something that can be both platonic and romantic. I don’t think there’s enough platonic affection shown (and celebrated!) in media - especially between people of opposite sexes, like in this particular scene.
What about sex education?
I tried to add a clip from that one actually, but youtube wouldn't allow it. Had to edit it out.
Jo from little women is gay. Most of the story is about how she reflects on the author. The author was hinting she was gay in the only way she was able to do it at the time. But, i do think she could be ace, also elsa is gay, just beacuse of places where it was shown, in frozen 2 she never got to kiss that girl. I think Elsa could also be gay.
But then these are just clips that reflect how we feel all the time.
But I do really agree with merida being aroace from the part 1
Wait.... but like- elsa and Jo are so similar amd Jo and Merida.
How Elsa and Jo lesbians?! There were no hints of lesbianism from either of them, they will always be aro ace to me
Ive literally seen Frozen, and there is no hint that she likes girls, she doesn't even check anyone out either, she just has a strong bond with her sister, strong sisterhood- so she's aro-ace idk why yall say stuff without evidence, but if its ur headcanon go on, but just dint directly say how is she ace(and aro) cuz we have evidence for that.
@@devinaghose9318 i am aro ace and i get what your saying but in frozen 2 she came close to that girl and they would have kissed if it wasnt for the fact that where frozen 2 is shown LGBTQ is illegal. This is what i saw when it came out. I think elsa is definetly ace tho.
Im not really sure anymore i always thought merida was aro and elsa was gay acebut they could both be gay
@@rosieflamingo2287 welp, merida is an aro-ace that I know, I have to watch frozen two to see- but if that's true then makes sense elsa being a lesbianace
Jo is aromantic and no one can change my mind. The fear of losing her sisters because of marriage, not being able to fall in love and doesn't understand why, only being married on the end because the author was forced by her publisher (Alcott wanted her to be single)... This is an aro arc. I think the only reason people see her as a lesbian is because they equal no interest in boys to interest in girls. But Jo doesn't crush on any girl so...
