First of all, I would like to say that I do not want to attack anyone with my comment. I am only describing my personal experience.♥️
I am a Christian and blindly trusted what priests in school and church taught me. Until one day I woke up to an event. I was blindsided when I realized that the church was teaching and doing things that were not biblical. So I started asking questions. To all sorts of Christian 'organizations'. Very nicely and with great respect. I just wanted to be able to understand and learn. The worst Christians who responded to me were the Catholics. Many of the answers hit me deeply. Many denied that I was a Christian. Some Catholics were too much, they protected me and were kind. They tried to help me. But most condemned me only because I questioned their faith. How dare I. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ.
Those were very bad experiences for me.
So were Jewish Christians. They and the Catholic Church almost managed to separate me from my faith in God.
Love and love from Germany. 🕯♥️🕊

I think it's easier when you have the benefit of distance, as in that you were never personally part of it. I have no cult experience, but I was raised initially in a non-Western and very different culture, and I left it all behind. I can't discuss it long without being triggered, but I am more able to rationally discuss other cultures with similar practices, but that I was never part of, as in they're not "my" people and I was never part of them, so they're not really triggering me. To use a cliche, I think it has to do with the too close to home thing, versus things that you are more detached from.

I live in a Cult village, it is really hard work talking to anybody. The village has a heavy new age element they gravitate to the Steiner School and the whole village is Anthropsophical ie following Rudolf Steiner, but also people that are generally new age. It was horrible during Covid for all the obvious reason you could think of with that tribe of pseudo science types. Would got me was the utter contempt for anybody else and sense of entitlement you got from them. I feel scarred from the whole thing. We also have the UK Scientology centre here as well, and the LDS. They say it is the Ley/lay lines (whatever). I am guilty of having an previous dalliance with the Steiner school but things didnt click with me, they did always try to draw you in to reading his occult psyche works etc, and pressure to not vaccinate. I think it is something in their personalities that draws them in to these beliefs and it would be a lifetime to get them to unpick it. I dont have the time. X

Another thing about Tom Cruise (TC) being passionate about mental health is his life long struggle with Dyslexia. He stated that he was labeled dyslexic and that he was teased and bullied for being stupid. He was considered a 'functional illiterate' at the end of high school. So this mental health struggle started with his dyslexia diagnosis at age 7 and has impacted him deeply. If you use your empathy, then you can see why he might be so passionate about the subject... it has been a life long personal struggle for him. And it looks like scientology has helped him deal with this struggle. Personally, I am autistic and dyslexic. I am high functioning. I can pass as normal most days. But reading TC's testimony on how he struggled with reading, to the point where he would get headaches, I can relate to that. He was considered dumb by his peers and teachers. I too experienced the same things. I remember hating reading. But it got easier after age 30. And I didn't have to use drugs or some magical method. I think my brain wiring adapted over time. I don't think it was Dianetics that helped TC... I think it was just perseverance and his brain eventually rewiring itself, that lead to an improvement in his condition.

He was bullied, because the social skills of the teachers were lack like Zero, and there was in general a lot of bulliing going on.
Based on his history since then, I would say, he knows it all, that its a big bad Scam, for a long time.....but you can spare the argument, cause he CANT. And therefore he wont.

I just moved back to a town I lived in twenty-seven or twenty-eight years ago, before my involvement with a few narcissists and a Dark Triad. The end of the video reminded me of an encounter I had on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon when I lived here before.
I don't know if Christian Science still exists but there was a Christian Science Reading Room that operated downtown. It seemed to be a tax write-off because it was seldom open. But, anyway ...
I was around age 30 or so and high on life one bright and sunny weekend afternoon. I was walking down the street and hopping up and walking the curbs as I approached them, then hopping down and back up on the next one.
As I was doing that, I was approached by a couple male Christian Science buskers, probably for two reasons. I was an attractive, approachable female around their age and they were busking.
I think they said something about how happy I looked and then asked if I believed in God. I did, and still do, but it's based on my own personal beliefs and experiences since I was a child.
We probably talked for 30-45 minutes but they ended up asking me more questions about my beliefs than telling me about theirs.
At the end of our conversation, one of the guys said to the other that they were doing so much reading and studying and I was experiencing happiness without all that. That it was just an attitude. (Looking back, I think it was the Law of Attraction. I didn't know about it at the time but it came naturally to me when I was "young," before I completely understood victimization.)
Anyway, his friend replied to him saying that they'd have to ask so-and-so about it when they got back inside.

40 yrs ago, I became a believer in Jesus Christ, not an organization or one particular church above another, but in the basic simple teachings of Christ.
My pastor at that time said, "Your best testimony to your faith, belief is you."
You, not someone else, not go read this or see that, but you personally. How by itself has it personally changed your life, effected those around you, made you a more compassionate, carrying forgiving person. And, if all your books, all your bibles, all your notes, etc. were taken away, would you still hold your beliefs? Would you still be able to reach out to others and share the hope you have? Your personal life speaks more than a warehouse of books.
I love your channel and the topics your covering.

The mother who wants to bring her dog to your wedding may not want to leave it alone or with anyone else. She also probably thinks that everyone at the wedding will love her dog. She doesn't want to accept the truth that it is extremely inappropriate to bring a dog and that everyone else there would have liked to bring their own dogs, but didn't out of respect for you. Even if it was put in a cage, it would bark and ruin the wedding. She should just be given a command, "no kids, dogs or any other living thing that isn't on the invitation.". If you must bring you pet rock, just keep it in your purse.

If you have your own dog (and it IS well behaved) then ask her to care for your dog that day and look after it at the event. Then your own dog is at the wedding and she has her needs met by having an animal to hold on to and care for. There could be numerous reasons she wants her dog there: substitute child, conversation starter; a reason to walk away from people or the situation (I need to take the dog out to pee...), the need emotionally to touch something live, etc... Each and all of these could be substituted with her in charge of Your dog that day.
Perhaps she is scared of leaving her dog alone, find a doggy day care, a neighbour or her best friend to mind her dog for the day. Drop it at the groomer for the day for a doggy spa. Book it into the vet for a treatment she may have been putting off. There are ways of making sure her dog is safe without her around, so she can concentrate on the wedding.
Perhaps hire a pet sitter for the day and everyone's dogs can be cared for at one venue away from the wedding.
    Good luck.

With the step mom and dog, I have a service dog that goes everywhere with me. Granted she's well behaved, completely potty trained AND a whopping 3 pound. My Australian friends just don't get it! They try "being nice" and saying well some folks are allergic... she's a yorkie... they are hypoallergenic and don't shed.... needless to say I've been on your side Andrew where the persons dog is a Shite Bag and doesn't listen, but then my girl who is with me for Seizures.. (she can feel em before I can and can alert me). Needless to say maybe you can agree on something. How about first offer to pay for a doggy day at a Dog Spa... groomer that she can pick up after your event... if not then ask that she not have them there for the ceremony and bend your rules for the reception. Maybe mom has the dog for the attention. Alot of folks who aren't social (or feel they are exciting enough) have the dog as a barrier to entertain a conversation...idk armchair therapist right? I know the dog/person bond. I love my lil fur baby more than most people lol. I hope one of these does help.
