I almost always prefer the timbre of the Clarinet over Soprano Sax when I write any jazz arrangements. It gives me that kind of “early jazz” feel with experimentation; and has a sweeter tone. It also gives a lot more flexibility on where you could go through the registers. :)

I think that it’s better when multiple instruments come together to make so many different layers of sound. I’m in a band of 50 and I always get so excited when the whole band plays together. It’s amazing what can be accomplished when people come together.

If you are looking for more of a rich tone then the Clarinet , but if you’re looking for more of a jazzy and bright tone, then the soprano saxophone (not bad Bright)

I’ve always loved that “bite” that saxophone has to its tone. That raspiness adds some *_soul_* to the instrument imo.

I’ve been playing clarinet for 2 full years and have never played a soprano sax. They both sound amazing, keep it up!
I like the tone of the clarinet but I prefer how the sax projects, so it's hard to say
If it was a curved soprano it would actually give it a little bit warmer sound.

It’s the bright yet growley tones of the Soprano I like. But the clarinet has a muted soft warmth to it that envelopes you with sound, idk.
