I only have one cactus so far. This thimble cactus is so tiny and adorable! It's tough to keep away from my young cat but maybe she'll leave it alone because it's sharp. I love how you talk about how to pair it with other plants that have similar requirements, this really helps!
This is a fun little plant that I have had a lot of success with. It has found it's way in to many of my cactus pots. It easily propagates, is fairly hardy, and I love its little white flowers.
To those mentioning they are scared of cacti, I'd say that the thimble cactus is really one to consider, as its spines are fairly soft. I know looks can be deceiving - I have an Agave Fillifera that looks like it has soft hairs, and right now I have a sore, swollen finger where one of those "hairs" grazed me. But I've had no such issues with the thimble cactus. And they are sooo cute!
JOYCE LAUBACH And aren’t the spines on the thimble cactus turned sideways instead of straight out. It seems to me that I used to just use my bare hands with that one. With practice and passion cactus needles are nothing to be afraid of.
I have a piece that I picked up off the ground at the store. I planted it in the cutest little tiny pot that Cassidy sent me. 😊 It is so adorable sitting on my desk by the window. I was worried that it didn't like it's new home, but now I see it's just dormant right now. Thanks so much, Cassidy - for the info and for the tiny pot!!
So happy to finaly know what my little cactus is! I pillfered babies from a friends plant a few years ago, and he didn't know what it was. I love it. I have a group of six in a squat bonsai pot, that I"m going to let turn into a crowded colony and one sigle plant in a little thumb pot. Thanks for the video. I think I will have to subscribe. :)
Such a cutie! And sounds quite easy care, even indoors...set it and forget get, per your words. I want to try this one just to see what those little cream/yellow flowers look like!
"Thimble Cactus" is so cute. I've noticed mine is starting to grow since the weather has started to cool down as we head into fall. The little babies and tiny flowers are adorable.
I'm subscribed now! I got two props from Aunt Barbara a few months ago & they already have pups! I hope to learn so much more from your videos. Thank you for sharing!.
I have stayed away from spiny cactuses, I didn’t think they were attractive plants until now. Putting them in an arrangement with other plants with the same water requirements makes sense. Thank you
Thank you for all the information on the Thimble Cactus! I have never seen one before! They are really cute. I like that they propagate easily and stay low growing!
I just received this from a Wish order. I opened the container it came in and placed it in a pot, can't wait until it's rooted and gets larger!!! Glad to know what it is now!!
Thanks for these precious informations.Winter is approaching,I will have to get my cactus indoors although all my cactuses are left out during winter, but don't worry, they produce such beautiful flowers.
I've had one since I was a kid. This cactus survived everything. I once cut off all growths from the main plant (there was a lot) and put them in normal garden soil, sometimes didn't water them for up to a month, never repotted. They are still alive. The 'mother' flowers in spring. Her 'children' overrun the pot. I'm convinced it's impossible to kill this cactus.
I have this cactus and it is one I've been successful keeping alive in the desert! I have overwatered it and parts of it died, but the buds that didn't die have multiplied so it's lasted years for me. Thank you for the tips. I didn't know I could grow it indoors!!
@@Succulentsandsunshine I am from the Phil. It's hot in here, but they seem to be doing fine😁 btw do you have a fb page ? I really want to know what one of my cactus is?
Yes! We have a group you can join to get community help here: facebook.com/groups/Succulentsandsunshine Or if you're interested joining our Succulent Lovers Club, I help our members there get IDs on their succulents (plus lots of great classes and tips too): succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-club
My favorite too! It's very unassuming and so cute! I was so delighted when I noticed last week that mine had little baby nubs on top of some of the barrels. 😊
Hi Cassidy I just purchased your succulent cards and ebook. I look forward to learning more about succulents. I just started collecting in March when a friend gave me some rescue plants
A zoomed in picture of these cacti and all others is important for evaluation. I will consider this for a dish garden once I locate one at the nursery.
Thank you for the feedback! I was trying to keep these simple to produce so we could do a lot this month. However, not including close ups was definitely an oversight. And one we'll remedy in our next round of videos. In the meantime, you can see a close up of the plants here: www.succulentsandsunshine.com/types-of-succulents-plants/?.com&
Very cute, I don’t have many cacti. I think I need to start collecting some😉. And with winter coming, that’s this little one’s growing season-perfect!! Thanks for sharing, Cassidy!
I don't have one...actually I don't have any cactus but this one interests me...may look for it at the Succulent Extravaganza this weekend. Thanks, Cassidy...
Now I know what my little Cactus is called, Thimble Cactus. Mine is in my Kitchen Window and it does have Lots of Babies on it. Thinking of repotting a few for a friend.!
It’s so cute! I haven’t gone into spiky plant territory yet, just got the softies. But I’d love to try getting one of these as my first actual cactus-looking plant.
This one survives almost everything! I have these and sometimes they move around and they don’t get rooted . I just put them back and they continue to thrive!
I have mine in a somewhat outa the way spot in my front window so it gets much less attention and loves it. I maybe check on it every 3 weeks and just discovered a bloom bud yesterday:). Love my lil pot of thimbles:)
Thanks ... I do have this cactus in a kitchen window which gets a lot of light and now 🌞 !!! Seems to be doing well as he continues to be short but has become rounder and several babies are developing ... will try an arrangement !!!
I really enjoy your videos. I suggest you record with two cameras, if possible, because it will allow close ups. With your setup, it is hard to see the plants up close.

I have actually never gotten into growing cacti. If I ever do, that will just make a longer wish list because I've promised myself no more plants until spring! Now the promise is documented. LOL. Thanks, Cassidy!
I have one that I’ve had for a couple years and this past year it bloomed consistently from October to March. I have noticed that as it gets taller the bottom quarter is a greenish yellow. I hope it’s not on it’s way out as it is one of my favorite ones!
I think this cactus is adorable but I haven't purchased it because I wasn't sure how easy it would be to handle. I might end up getting this one now that I know it's not too bad!

Cassidy: “this one can do well indoors.”
Me: “I’m listening” 🤩

I love the Mammillarias. Lovely flowers and nice red fruits.
You've given me confidence that I can easily propagate this sweet little one I found recently! Thank you!

Yay, indoors! And cute too. Needed to see a little closer up though.
What a cute little bowl of goodies! I looked it up and I can see why this is your fave.. at least one of them. 😁💕🌵
"Thimble Cactus" is so cute. I've noticed mine is starting to grow since the weather has started to cool down as we head into fall. The little babies and tiny flowers are adorable.
This was one of my first succulents! I just love how many babies it produces for me.
This is adorable!!! Thank you for the tips for indoor growing to prevent stretching!
It is utterly adorable and definitely the 'rabbits' of the succulent breeding world. I love them too.
I love the cobweb look to these succulents. Definitely on my wish list

Such a cute little cactus. Add does well
indoors, and relatively easy to handle: it's a winner!
I have stayed away from spiny cactuses, I didn’t think they were attractive plants until now. Putting them in an arrangement with other plants with the same water requirements makes sense. Thank you
These are so cute. Never seen them before, but they are sweet and petite looking
Love the “set it and forget it” and good inside...soo cute!
Cute little cactus!
I love this cactus and anything that multiplies on it's own is for me!

These are so cute to add into planters with succulents

That's fantastic!
I have a ton of succulents but I’ve never owned a cactus before! I’ve always wanted to buy one... maybe I’ll start with this one
I haven’t gotten into cactus yet, only succulents. This one is cute! I too would like a closer look.
Now this is something I really like. A real winner. Gotta get me a few.

I just got a 3 pack of cacti 🌵 at Ikea and plan on separating the babies to get more plants ! ❤️
This is next on my wish list!
These are pretty cute! They look like a more manageable cactus to include in my arrangements.
Awesome video. Great information.
Cool little cactus.
I love this cactus too! It’s been on my wishlist for a while. It’s super cute & unique 💚
Thanks for the advice! Will have to look for this cactus to grow inside.
love the star prickles :)
Pot/pots are a focal point and habitat mimic of soil as content in organic are making a difference in esthetics for the long term.
These cute little cacti look like little pin cushions!
I actually have this since a few weeks ago, and i propagated all its babies. All so cute!😍
They are so adorable!
