Cole Adams I have a problem for paying college players as this will unintentionally hurt Army, Navy and Air-forces football programs due to rules that the schools have. This is after it being difficult to recruit to these schools in the first place just my two cents feel free to disagree.

Hey Cole Adams, you said that you were looking to research the topic of college hockey and its recent rapid rise of the talent pool and sending more players to the NHL. As well as more big time teams looking at the possibility of adding teams.
For example, at the #ACHA level (Non NCAA Hockey). We had a recent crowd at the Winter Classic in Dallas,, we had the Univ. Of Texas & Texas A&M Club Teams at the ACHA Division 2 Level recently draw a little over 5,000 fans. This could make a statement for college hockey growth in Texas.
Another big reason for this is the growing number of strong international players playing in the NCAA. For example, at the recent World Junior Hockey Championship, we had NCAA Players playing for 🇫🇮, 🇨🇦 and 🇨🇭. 🇸🇪 and 🇸🇰 also had committed players to NCAA Teams in the tournament. Other countries like 🇫🇷 have had current players and/or commitments also play in the WJC Qualifiers.

Granted Im' European, maybe I don't know that much about your kind of football. However I enjoy collage football much more than the NFL, for me it is just much more entertaining as a viewer. I think a factor is the skill level of the players. They aren't as skilled the NFL players but they are still good enough to play entertaining and exciting football. They make huge plays, bust a defensive coverage that allows a 60 yard TD pass and stuff like that, it ain't the best quality, but it's entertaining as hell. The season opener between Florida and Miami is the perfect example of this, terrible football, entertaining as fuck to watch.
The thing I find the most stupid in general are they players. Take for instance a 5 star QB, most likely he is going to commit to Bama, Clemson, OSU or one of the biggest schools, which all still have maybe 3 other 5 star QB's on the roster. I get it that they wanna play for the best teams and say they "aren't afraid of competition", but in reality, why not just go to a team like Baylor, Minnesota, UFC or one of those teams? They are still really good and guaranteed not to have as talented QB's, why not go where you can be the number 1 guy from day 1? Players need to swallow their pride and go where they will play, as a young player in any sport, you won't get better if you don't play.
Look at Burrow, didn't play at OSU, went to LSU. Had one year as a full starter to become better, and look at him now.

Then out of the pool of 8 the committee will rank them how they see fit and play the tournament.

Then SEC got loud and with the media altering recruiting as well by hyping up one conference and alignment happening with Missouri and A&M going to the SEC opened up the gates gravitate more recruits Southeast. I'm probably just older and miss the way things use to be and conferences were more regional, most the kids stayed in their region and got to see more mid west, west coast, north east, and southeast kids compete against each other in bowls and national championships, I wish the old conference set up was still intact for the playoff era. Texas has averaged inside the top ten recruiting classes for several years now, and they’re incredibly well-funded so I’m not sure poor recruiting is the reason they haven’t risen to the top recently. They were #3 in recruiting for 2018 (USC was #4).

I’m a Clemson fan, I go to Clemson and have lived in South Carolina pretty much my whole life. Even though there was that heartbreaker for us on Monday, I do agree with you. College football is so much fun to watch bc it’s so volatile, and everything means everything, every little mistake costs big, because there are so many teams. But even with all these teams it is always us, Ohio state, Alabama and that’s about it. However, I would like to point out something about Clemson. Clemson’s culture is what draws people to us. We never used to be as good as we are now, Dabo built this team from pretty much the ground up. When Justyn Ross was asked why he was choosing Clemson he said it was because it felt like a family. We are hard working but we also have a program to nurture. Take our back up quarter back for example, Chase Brice. He’s likely transferring, and the whole of Clemson is behind him, we want him to succeed, he wasn’t going to get the recognition he deserved here. We want chase Brice to do well, and I promise wherever he goes everyone here is rooting for him. Now I don’t live in Alabama, so I don’t know firsthand but from what I’d heard from Alabama fans, when tua got hurt everyone thought the season was over, they were done for. Here at Clemson if Trevor got hurt everyone would put their faith in Brice, there wouldn’t be any “I hope he does ok” we would back Brice 100%. That’s why Clemson has the best recruiting class, that’s why were contenders year after year, because Dabo built a program meant to nurture, not compete.

Totally agree about the parity. As a kid (think late 90s), it felt like the # 25 ranked team could easily beat # 1 and anyone else could beat anyone.
Now it feels like #10 cant even compete with the playoff teams.
I liked it when it felt like good coaching and playing hard was the biggest factor in determining the winner. Now its usually who has a better recruiting class.
Thats not exciting.it makes playing the games pointless and anticlimatic.

FCS football is a joke Cole! As a fan of an FCS football team “Southern Illinois University at Carbondale” it’s annoying to see North Dakota State win the Missouri Valley Conference and the FCS National Championship every year! North Dakota State has won 8 National championships in the last 9 years! Every year I know that North Dakota State is going to win the National championship and no one else in the FCS stands a chance against them!I think you should maybe make a video about the FCS and how it’s worst then the FBS, because at least in the FBS their is a different national champion every year!

I think a Consolidated League of all the current power Conference teams would be great. Personally I would like 6 conferences of 12 teams each, which would obviously necessitate some reshuffling of the teams, but doing so would restore most of the conferences to the way they were before the most recent realignment- which messed up conferences and disrupted rivalries. Bringing back rivalries such as Texas vs Texas A&M and Oklahoma Nebraska would be a benefit to this plan. Not that conferences would have to go back to exactly the way they were, but that would be some kind of probation for these longtime rivalries to continue to exist.
So there would be a total of 72 available slots and 64 teams which are currently in the power 5 conferences, which leaves 8 slots to be filled from Independents and the current group of 5 teams. obviously Notre Dame gets a slot. My other seven choices would be BYU, Army, Navy, UCF, Colorado State, Memphis, Cincinnati and San Diego State.
obviously the specific teams could change, but those would be my picks based on recent history, tradition, and which smaller teams play well against the more established teams.
My playoff would have 8 teams with 6 Conference champions and two wild cards including the possibility of one of the wild cards Going to a smaller Conference team if they qualify.
I would also add a rule that current FBS teams can only play one game outside of the FBS and it has to be played within the first 2 weeks of the year. In other words, no cupcake games in November.

I definitely agree with your love and hate of college football. Even though I'm an LSU fan on top of the mountain right now, I do realize that I better enjoy it while I can. With Alabama and Clemson owning the recruiting rankings yet again, they will be in prime position to play for another title. Ultimately, If there isn't more parity in recruiting, then the results at the end of the season will remain the same.
What happened with LSU this year is truly a rarity these days in college football. I just hope there will be more teams like LSU that come from outside of the preseason top 5 or beyond to "actually" challenge these perennial contenders. As much as these teams are dominant and deserve to be there, it really is boring to see the same 3 teams fight it out with the 4 seed as cannon fodder.
It really starts at the line of scrimmage. OSU, Bama and Clemson continue to recruit and develop top talent on both sides of the line. As a result, they usually physically dominate the teams on their schedule. Oklahoma has great skill position players but lack dominant line-play. The results speak for themselves. Clemson lost arguably the best defensive line in many years to graduation and the draft. If that line played played LSU in the game, the result may have been much different.
And having to tier QB's don't hurt either. 😁

People were wanting to get rid of the wild card spot in football so teams like this year's Eagles and Titans wouldn't get in. One of those teams was eliminated quickly, but the other . . .
A lot of the times you'll get blowouts sure, though you get plenty of those already (it's kind of the expectation going into a college game), but sometimes you'll see that 8 seed take down the top seed and make for a great experience.
