- Part 1 of 7 videos on board the 'Cambrian Coast Express' hauled by ex-LMS Black 5 4-6-0 no.44871 over the magnificent Cambrian Coast Line from Machynlleth to Pwhelli and back.
In this video we see 44871 bring the stock into Machynlleth Station. We then see the two Class 158 Units from Pwhelli and Aberystwyth arrive to join up together. We then depart Machynlleth and travel the line to Dovey Junction where we stop briefly before setting off once more and start snaking our way alongside the Dovey Estuary itself.
Filmed on a Panasonic HS60 HD Camcorder
Enjoy
Excellent video collection. Traveled this line on many occasions by DMU, Nice to see unrestricted outside views rather than through dirty windows
8:42 Ay dovey junction!
Bring steam back to the Cambrian Coast!
@gre2g Thank you very much =) I've being going on it every year since 2007 myself
cleaned this locomotive at the east lancs rly at bury when I worked in the engine shed also have a painting of it crossing the bridge at barmouth the last time I saw it was in fort William on the jacobite
A glimps of the station names would have been nice, so you could get a referance point. I have traveled this line and would be hard pressed to tell the location from this film.
8:42 Dovey Junction
Black fives on the cambrian.
Fantastic line ruined by Notwork Fail
To heavy methinks in steam days
Very poor fort not naming stations
