My mother was born in Oswestry, and my grandad was always talking about the Cambrian. Lovely to see Oswestry station when it was still in use. Excellent video
Glad you enjoyed the video hopefully plenty more interesting videos uploaded soon
Went from Birmingham to Tywyn in 1961 and from there to Aberystwyth and Porthmadog on following days, wonderful memories, all stations manned in those days. Also that holiday rode the TR, FR and the V of R. Unforgettable holiday when I was 20 years old.😊
Knew Bill well in his later years, ran his photography shop in Mardol, Shrewsbury, loved his Manors. I have placed his slides into the care of On Line Transport Archivein Shrewsbury.
Excellent. Great to see the Cambrian in action.
Thanks glad you enjoyed remember to subscribe I’m always uploading new stuff when I can 😊
Having just travelled a small part of this line from Pwllheli to Barmouth and return I am truly thankful that it has been saved from closure. Next time it will be Machynlleth to Barmouth and return, it is a gem.
A wonderful historic record. In time I expect its quality will be improved but I thoroughly enjoyed it, warts and all!
Thanks for your message I’m always on the look out for other old footage to upload
Nice to see 7823 in particular. I always thought of it as ‘my engine’ after my father explained that as a ‘nationalised railway owned by everybody’ 7823 was as much mine as anybody’s.
Good Film...Very interesting.
A great pity that the technical "quality" of this piece is so poor. Unwatchable, I'm afraid.
Good to see the past, from Sydney Australia, only thing is can you edit out the frame jumping? Difficult to watch.
I was having issues with laptop and Iv got new one but tape has seem to disappeared glad you enjoyed it
Lovely views of the old railway, slightly spoilt by LMS locos and poor picture quality. The Manors look great !
