Thank you both for the remarkable job you do with these videos. Great filmic quality. Fab scripting and delivery thereof. Multiple cuts above almost all others. You are a key reason we have chosen to cruise with Azamara in October in 2023.
For crying out loud - I only discovered your channel about a week ago and I think I've put on about a stone in that time, just by creeping backwards and forwards to the kitchen to pick and snack, just on sight of all these culinary delights (beautifully captured on film). I'd bloody well unsubscribe if this wasn't actually one of the richest seams of videography and indulgence I've come across on UA-cam. Thank You!
How am I just finding this 3 YEARS after you posted it? I hadn't really considered Azamara until I saw Emma on there a few weeks ago - they look absolutely stunning ships given their age!
Thanks for watching Fraser. We ❤️ Azamara. Watched your latest Coral Princess this morning - loving them, especially as we’re spending a month on her next year 😁👍
@@visitwithus Oh, I'm SO jealous of the fact you're on her for a full month - I keep trying to forget about that, haha! Thanks for watching, and for the positive feedback :)
I recently returned from my first Azamara cruise (Iceland intensive). I had breakfast in my suite in my robe almost every morning, and on my balcony when weather permitted. My favourite breakfast choice was salmon and fresh fruit. The included room service was the greatest luxury for me as I like to start the day in a leisurely fashion. I don’t drink alcohol so I didn’t pursue the Chef’s Table. My cruise fare included one meal at a specialty restaurant, and I had it at Prime C. My entree of hake was excellent; I felt that the starter and dessert were average. I found that Discoveries, the Windows cafe and the Patio fulfilled all my dining desires, except for the evening when Windows was offering Irish soda bread, which was nothing like the real thing. The quality of the food was excellent overall. I also did the insider ship tour, and was impressed with the kitchens and food storage. Azamara has amazing itineraries and great food. I will be back, once they have sorted out their information systems.
Great video. I am starting to think that Azamara might be a good choice for me as I prefer to avoid the crowds of larger cruise ships and the accompanying noise and chaos. So I'll now revisit your other Azamara videos. And you can never go wrong quoting Shakespeare appropriately. Well Done. Cheers! and Thanks!
We are cruising on Azamara Pursuit around the Greek Isles next month, we can't wait, especially after watching this video. Being a chocaholic myself, this looks fabulous. Thanks
Absolutely brilliant. Loved the first one I saw and cannot wait to look at the others. So we’ll done, I can cruise via your channel while I count the days until my next visit with Azamara ♥️ Cate
Amazing video! Amazing commentary! We are so looking forward to cruising on the Amazara Pursuit in the Mediterranean Riviera all the more after watching this wonderful & professional 'vlog'. D.H.
The food looks so tempting. I am in a bit of a quandary in deciding if I should choose the ship for it's ports or for it's food. Now I don't have to decide anymore since I can have both. Before I scuttle off I must say that I truly love your videos and your voice when you are dictating it. Thanks again and please keep up the good work. Cheers from Canada.
Hey Peter, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Azamara are the kings when it comes to ports/destinations and they're right up there with food too. If you like small ships, they could be just what you're looking for! :)
Great video, as all your videos! Makes me want to go on a cruise with Azamara again, the food looks perfect to me and the interior contemporary. Thank you so much for sharing!
Haha! Thanks! If you want literary references, I'd check out our Seabourn Caribbean vlog. Full of quotes from Homers The Odyssey. Yes, it was a stupid idea lol!
Oh my goodness, my mouth was watering watching this video. A really comprehensive guide, beautiful videography and lovely narration, thank you! We booked our first Azamara cruise this afternoon on the Pursuit in October. It's Croatia Intensive and I love Croatia.
We will be beginning our 6th AZ cruise in early August, and I must say this video was completely accurate. It is hard to imagine, but the food on our April '19 transatlantic was even better than it has been in the past, and it was pretty pretty amazing in the past. One can only hope that the Main Dining Room's "Beef Stroganoff" has been permanently exiled to Siberia, where it might be appreciated. The only bad meal I've had on board, and that was back in 2010. Good job. It is an amazing line to sail with. And if you might be wondering, no facilities to accommodate young children, no water slides, no rock climbing walls.
And some 2 years later, and 6 cancelled cruises later, thank you city of Wuhan, we expect to be back on October 9, 2021 for 5 B2Bs. My son has been advised to bring a wheel barrow (or two) to pick us up in Miami on our return. Azamara, we really miss you!
We've taken 2 Azamara cruises in the last year. Both were on the Quest. Both Med cruises. The first took place just a month after they started cruising again. The food was a mixed bag. We heard they lost their chef during COVID-19 break so they had a new head chef. He was....not the best. Prior passengers said it was the worst food they had eaten on Azamara. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Twice we received apps that tasted freezer burned. Like they had been in that freezer since COVID break started. We took Quest again in March of this year and the food was much better. We asked if they still had the same head chef and they informed us that due to customer feedback he was either let go or demoted. They had a new chef from eastern Europe. Now that they are British-owned the menu sometimes reflects this. Stuff like black pudding for breakfast and beans and tomatoes abound. Fish 'n chips on the dinner menu, etc. The first cruise we took (probably since it was right after COVID) had about 80% European clientele with most being from the UK. About 10% North American and the rest were Scandinavia, Germany, and Russia. But in April I'd say it was about 60% North American and 25% UK and the rest mostly from Scandinavia and Germany. By this point there were no Russians that i saw. Most likely due to the Ukraine conflict. The service was better in October as fewer passengers (only 189). In April it was 394 and the service wasn't quite as good as staff weren't all back yet. Same cruise director (she has an amazing voice) and half of the dancers and singers were the same. The staff was about 60% the same. We will be on the Onward this coming April. Excited to try the new Atlas bar (where the Library used to be.) On our 2 cruises, that space was largely unused, so it makes sense that they're trying to reinvent it. We normally cruise Celebrity but Azamara is our alternate favorite. They're very different though. Pros of Azamara: 1. Service. Celebrity has great service but Azamara service is more personal and engaging. 2. The pool chairs are padded and come with towels already on them. 3. The service at the outdoor grill is pretty darned good. Love having linens for an outdoor dining experience. The menu is quite bigger than Celebrity's grill too. 4. MDR on Azamara is better food than MDR on Celebrity. But it's not quite a good as Blu on Celebrity (but close!) 5. The drinks actually have tons of alcohol in them and not a lot of sugary mixers!! 6. The afternoon trivia is a hoot on Azamara. Much bigger event on Azamara than Celebrity. 7. Appreciate the afternoon tea up in the Living Room but not near the quality of Cryastal or Oceania. 8. The lunch buffet is quite amazing service. No getting your own drink. Ditto for breakfast. Love this. While the selection isn't nearly as good as Celebrity, the quality is fantastic. That sausage on their breakfast buffet was AMAZING. We found the food at buffet to be better tasting than Celebrity's. And service at buffet is better than Celebrity by a smidge. 9. The piano every night in the Den is really charming. Wish Celebrity had this. Things that Celebrity does better: 1. Entertainment. Lots of variety and paid performers from off the cruise ship staff. You only get this once each cruise on Azamara, during the Aza-mazing evening. 2. Rooms. While the Azamara rooms are very well accented (quality building materials and detailed interior work) and they have AMAZING beds and linens they're a bit smaller....especially the bathroom. It's tiny. 3. More types of music during the day around the ship. 4. Wines. We were very disappointed in the quality of wines on the Ultimate package, on offer by Azamara. Many of those wines were just a dollar more than the included wines, when purchased at the grocery. $9 bottles vs. $8 bottles. Celebrity kills here. 5. Specialty restaurants. Only Prime C was open on both of our voyages but it served the menu from both restaurants. It was OK but not great. The food wasn't nearly as good as the food at Murano on Celebrity. The proteins were not that high quality. We were disappointed. We decided to stay with the MDR for the remainder of the cruise.
Weather permitting, my favorite breakfast location is on the balcony in my room. I love the MDR for Lunch. Dinner my Favorite is Prime C. The food is fantastic and I love the Bar area for a before dinner drink. Aqualina is also quite good, although they have a bar area, I have never seen it used on 3 Azamara cruises. MDR for dinner is quite good as well.
Agree with all of this Todd. It's funny you say about the bar in Aqualina. We've never seen anyone drink there but like you say, the one in Prime C is popular. Odd that. :)
Well written, professionally presented, including stable, well lit video and a relaxed feel to the announcer and editing. Nothing I could or would improve.
Rich & Helen, I’m hungry. Another excellent video. Truthfully, your channel is my go-to for reliably produced travel information. it is the best one out there. Aww, cheers Bob. I can't wait to hear how you get on in December. Don't forget those gym clothes - wearing them around the ship is a great illusion lol!

Also, please consider subscribing as there's a full Italy and the Adriatic Azamara series coming very soon right here on this channel. :)
Missing my cruises with Azamara and now even more so after watching a few of your great videos. I will be back on in August 2022 for the Genova-Venezia cruise , Mary Jane enrichment speaker
Wow! That's some sharp eyes you have there, Ray! Urgh! No wonder germs spread so quickly. Horrible! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Please consider subscribing? :)
Thank you for watching! Well, we haven't yet been on any Oceania ships but we've heard their food is particularly good. Maybe one day, but when Azamara are so good, it's hard to drag ourselves away!
@@visitwithus We had an Oceania cruise cancelled on us. One important thing for us is that while they have balconies, they don't seem to have a table on them for light dining/breakfast. It isn't a critical point, but it is a point in favor of an Aza cruise rather than the somewhat more expensive Oceania.
A great question Stubi. Thanks for watching and continuing to support our channel. :) Well, Seabourn and Azamara are two different products. Seabourn is what you'd call 'ultra luxury' and you find on board, a lot of guests go on a voyage to relax and enjoy the luxury and pampering the ship provides, some never get off for the whole voyage! Azamara is what we'd call boutique luxury, it's less 'posh' and more relaxed, and their focus is MUCH more on the voyage and the destinations you visit. Most guests get off the ship and explore further. But the food, service and the crew are just as fabulous as Seabourn. :)
Hi Chris. The White Night is a feature on all of their cruises and is most definitely one of the highlights. It's such a fun evening. Rest assured, wearing white is NOT compulsory, although most people make the effort to wear SOMETHING white. Don't worry, your husband doesn't have to wear white pants! :D
Thanks for watching. We haven't sailed on Azamara post covid, or since their sale by Royal Caribbean, so I'm afraid I can't comment. We have spoken to their UK team though and they seem very happy with the new setup and Azamara's plans for the future. I've heard lot's of great feedback too as well as the odd grumble.
@@visitwithus Well, just an fyi, we are heading there is Sept. 2024 (assuming I make it that long and if not the wife will be looking for a boy toy) we will be taking a block of rooms, if you don't make it there by then tag along.
when you folks were dancing on the upper deck, why was there something that looked like crime tape around the railing? is it a crime to have that much fun? thanks for the info i cant wait to sail on Azamara
😂 Slap the cuffs on officer! The crime tape is because just below that rail was the barbecues and the tape was there to keep people away from the hot smoke.
As always, thank you for a wonderful video. Have you thought about doing a dining comparison retrospective? If food is important to you - I'm asking for a friend :-) - then which lines would you recommend? I think I have read "best food at sea" on perhaps a half-dozen lines marketing copy. And you can find "worst ever" reviews of any product on the internet. But I trust you and you have broad experience. (Although not Oceania IIRC?) If I said, best line for food, what pops into your mind first?
We just returned from the Journey and were really disappointed. The cost saving can mostly be seen on the food menu. Sadly even the quality of the buffet has deteriorated. Ship also in a bad maintenance status. Staff were excellent but we won't be back.
Oh dear, that’s a pity. We haven’t ever sailed on the journey but always found the food on her sister ships to be amazing. Thanks for watching though 👍

Included 👍
Thanks for watching 😊
สวยงามน่าไปครับ
Thanks for watching.
what are your thoughts on customer relations and their moody attitudes - all post covid? This is the only think putting me off at the moment.
Not wanting to hijack your video, but do you guys have any intention of sailing on the Paul Gauguin anytime soon ?
Hi Dave. Thanks for watching. We'd LOVE to try Paul Gauguin and Tahiti is right at the top of our list. Can't wait to go! :D
Please can you also vlog about Costa Cruises 😍
We’ve yet to sail with Costa but maybe one day 🤔🤞
Thanks for watching 👍
Why.Costa ugh. No comparison to Azamara ❤❤❤❤. Do you want a captain who leaves his passengers when he cracked up his ship is Concordia ?
As always, thank you for a wonderful video. Have you thought about doing a dining comparison retrospective? If food is important to you - I'm asking for a friend :-) - then which lines would you recommend? I think I have read "best food at sea" on perhaps a half-dozen lines marketing copy. And you can find "worst ever" reviews of any product on the internet. But I trust you and you have broad experience. (Although not Oceania IIRC?) If I said, best line for food, what pops into your mind first?
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, we'd LOVE to do a dining comparison video and we will one day when we've been on one or two other lines. :)
Have you sailed much with RC?
No. We don't like giant ships so much so tend to prefer the sub 3000 pax ones.
Was your birthday suite largely enhanced?
Thanks for watching but I'm not sure what you're asking here. :)
@@visitwithus I was asking how much weight you gained?
@@lucyflores2869 Haha! It’s a regular problem. Tip: take baggy clothes. 😂
I prefer a smaller, more exclusive cruise like this over that Royal Caribean mega mess anyday
I agree with you, you can’t beat small ship cruising. So much more relaxing. ❤️ Thank you also for watching. We hope you consider subscribing to our little channel if you haven’t done so already. 👍🙂
I cruised with them on the Onward in October 2022. An extremely sub-par experience. The food on the whole was pretty awful.
Sorry to hear that. We haven't sailed on Onward yet. We hope it's better than you report!
Oh no I just couldn’t! No.. no no. Ok well I certainly wouldn’t want to offend 😋. I don’t understand it ... I walked aboard this cruise and at the end, I WADDLED off like a penguin. What happened?
Haha! I agree! You just can't say no, cos it's so rude eh? ;P
