Glad to hear your honest opinion about the recommended race distance. I’m sure for elites these could be used for a marathon but us mortals... probably not. I ran my first marathon in the Razor 3 Hyper last fall. I felt fine until about mile 16-18 at which point I regretted my choice. Absolutely trashed my legs and feet.
I just ran my first marathon last weekend in the Horizon Vanish. SUCH an amazing shoe. Light as a feather and cushioning was spot on for the marathon for me. I don’t like too much cushioning personally but I definitely need more than usual in a race. The horizon vanish is their lightest shoe, even lighter than the speed elite. If you’re slower like me and aren’t getting up on your toes, then the vanish is hands down the best shoe out there.

Razor 3's were one of my favorite shoes from last year and really feel like Hyperburst foam is one of the best to get put on a shoe in a while, PR's here we come!

Mark Falkingham is the toe box width in the Elite the same as the razor 3? I have medium width feet and I’m not sure the elite will fit. The razor were borderline. Is the upper stretchable? Is it forgiving for wider feet?
Miau Miau Surprisingly yes, I kept hearing the fit was super snug and a race fit so as I was importing these from the USA to Germany I was a bit worried. I have two pair of Razor 3’s and in each pair the first couple of runs felt a tad snug. The Speed Elite has a very similar fit from my perspective, I wear a men’s EU 45 or US 11. I’m quite released and happy that the fit wasn’t as I like to say GOOFY 👍
I have the horizon vanish and it’s a really really ideal for tracks 5k and 10k. It feels really nice at 5:00 flat pace or faster or just an all out top speed for longer distances. A nice stack height with 23 is cushioned while never feeing sloppy. You can do 200,400,k, mile repeats in them in nice and for 100 dollars great deal! Sketchers wanted to give people an other option that wanted a lower drop option and a more natural feel. I would definitely use the speed elite for 5k,10k and half marathon races forsure definitely a fast shoe. It’s 180 on running wearhouse and 190 on sketchers website.
Eventually they'll do away with uppers all together: You will either lock/stick the midsole directly to your socks, or it'll hold on with 3 pieces of string sandal style 😜
What I have been noticing from all other brands making shoes with carbon fiber plate is that they seems much more stable on the heel area then Nike's shoes like the next% . I like, but not love, my Zoom Fly 3 because I always fight to keep the balance on thr heel area and that always make the muscles stabilizing my chin to get beat up after every run. When I use other running neutral shoes running shoes like an Adios 4 , Boston 8 or even a Nike Pegasus 36 my legs says thanks! Those Nike's carbon fiber plate shoes do make us run faster but for some people, like myself, it costs legs health since it is like running in a tightrope . Can't wait to try different brands if carbon fiber plate running shoes !
My brother just got the Nike vaporfly 4% flyknits and they are causing bad blisters on his ankles. Did you ever experience this? And congrats on the kid!!
Hey Seth, I assume you got them in size 8, half size larger than your true to size. Did you find them to be a bit big? I'm the same size as you, 7.5 true to size and got size 8 due to availability and I found them to be a bit big for my liking. I loved them but sadly returned them and will wait until half sizes are available. Bummer as I've been waiting months for these to drop.
Michael Dominic I actually found them to be too narrow in the toe box true to size at my usual size 12. However length was spot on. For reference I’m a size 12 in the Kinvara, Beacon, zoom fly flyknit, Terra kiger 5, and Brooks launch.
Is the Skechers version of this pair small? If the foot length is 28cm, should I take 29? The original foot shape is 2e. Thank you. Will it be too tight to wear the original foot? Because it's the number one jump
How does the Sleep elite vs the Rebook Floatride Run Fast Pro (mouth full) compare? Both slight weight? Both light weight, but are both for the same purpose?
Kevin Scott I’m under the impression Floatride RFP is even more minimal midsole, think 5k/10k. Similar to what Seth said I have the Speed Elite pinned as a Half Marathon racer and will use it this Spring if I fit well in one of the limited released full sizes.
Seth, was that a size 7,5 or size 8,0 ??? How was the fit compared to your usual 7,5? I'm asking because i'm also a 7,5. Juste wondering if i should go for 7,5 ou 8,0 because of the narrow toe box.
Am I the only one who dont like tp run on stilts aka giant Nike shoes? (no I havent raced the marathon, but the half and 10k with a giant shoe with a 10mm drop is not good for me) I like that Skechers dont follow the trend with 10-12mm drop and 3,5-4cm soles

It is listed at $179.95 at Running Warehouse, which doesn't sound that bad when compared with Nike, especially with the extended longevity.
Oh well, Nike it is I guess. They don't seem to make it in a small enough size for me.
