    So glad I found this video! I didn’t know what to do to fix our mop but this fixed the issue on the first try! Thanks for sharing!

    My Braava has done this since day one. My solution was to just help the poor thing out of the dock. Finally got frustrated enough to search for a solution and this video popped up. I never would have thought of this. 15 minutes later I had it completed and the problem was solved! Brilliant! iRobot should just ship a free soldering iron to every Braava user and a link to your video.

      Or they should texture the base at the factory. But they don't care.

    This is perfect!!!
    Before watching this video I tried everything from degreasing the platform and the wheels to even using sand paper on the wheels. I did notice that the ridges on the plastic pad had worn out and I was going to use sanding paper with double sided tape. But this solution hits it out of the park.
    Thank you!!!

    Works like a charm. Don't know why irobot wouldn't do this from the start.

    Thank you. Great solution. I was so focused on adding material to the divots and/or wheels to improve traction I would have never thought to use a soldering iron.

    Thanks for your video. Yes, undocking worked immediately! However, docking was a different story. I then used the soldering iron for the entire path of the docking station. In addition, I noted that the after-market pads I was using were much thicker than the OEM. Change the pad and now all is working perfectly.

    Simple but efficient solution. My Braava is undocking with no problems at all. Thank's for sahring it.

    Great idea! Until I get a soldering iron, I took two small pieces of Velcro tape (the rough side) & stuck them into the wheel wells on the base. That gave me the traction it needed, even if it is only temporary.

    Genius solution! I was considering some of the others I've read about (putting sandpaper in the wheel wells, using tacky tape), but I was concerned about how they would affect overall performance. I just used my wood burner to do this and it worked just as well as in the video. No more having to manually move the bot off the base to start. Thanks for posting this!

    My issue isn't like this, but more serious. Mine worked fine for about 1.5 years and loved it.. But now it's useless. I start it (docked or not). It moves forward a bit then turns 90 degrees one way and then the other way, and then just stops. I removed the wheels and got some debris out of the wheel wells. O also cleaned all the sensors, although not so sure about the sensors that are located inside wells also. No change. Ever heard of this, and is there a fix? For now it just sits in the charger and useless. This is the best Irobot mop I've ever had .

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 роки тому

      No, sorry. I'm not familiar with this. It sounds like a serious sensor or processor failure. Then again, could be something dumb and easy to fix. I suggest you contact iRobot. Well, what I really suggest is what you buy a Dreame W10. :)

    Ours will undock only about 5-10% of the time regardless of how clean and dry the base is. I have to assist it always. I’ve always felt the drive motors lacked torque sufficient enough to get it over the hump. That said, I will try stippling the base. 🤞

      It finds its dock and starts to maneuver back to its dock but just wont dock, its already on half the docking plate and finds difficult to keep traction or having a hard time to lift itself to make full dock. The wheels still have the traction/lines.

    My problem is the reverse. Mine wont dock when it returns. It backs up but the tire are wet therefore it won't backup to charge. I've even turned down the spray amount and it still has a problem backing up to dock and recharge.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 роки тому

      Well you could extend the stippling to the edge of the platform. That might work for you. Although I have never had this problem, so I can't help but think there may be something wrong with your robot or its wheels/tires.

      That might work! I tried grip tape but that wasn't enough. Velcro may work or the little plastic "hairs" might bend out of the way as the wheels spin. If you test it and works long term, please let me know.

      @@MrRoombato Unfortunately I don't have an M6, it's just an idea. You can also glue thin rubber into holes for wheels, for example, from medical gloves on double-sided tape. It may be necessary to increase the gap between the mop and the mat.

    In my case the wheels aren’t slipping, but they just don’t seem to have enough torque to drive out of the base without a push. Anyone else with that problem and have a solution? Also complains a lot of time about being out of water when it is 80% full and I just have to shake it. So annoying.
