You're one of those rare youtube gems that doesn't rely on offensiveness or rudeness or loudness to get attention, just hard work, and I really value that about you. Keep up the good work.
I'm so confused why I just watched a movie about a game that I played years ago and even has its own remake, yet still enjoyed it as if it had just come out and I hadn't ever played it.
One thing I've realised rewatching this, and yes I know it's late, but I think the reason Lillie dresses and looks like Nihilego at first is because Lusamine saw Nihilego, which started her obsession with the ultra beasts, and said it was beautiful. Lillie says at the start of the game that she was only allowed to wear what her mother told her to, so it makes sense that Lusamine dressed her like Nihilego to make her more beautiful. This might already be common knowledge, but I only just realised this and thought it'd be worth sharing.
Watching these movies as scarlet and violet approach, and they have truly stood the test of time and encapsulate the pokemom experience. Can't wait for new movies to come in the future, keep it up absol!
Man I come back to these videos every now and then. Remember watching some of these videos when I first started getting into Pokémon. Showing the true feeling of playing these games for the first time
i discovered you after youtube delightfully recommended me your level 100 gauntlet with ninjask and needless to say ive been watching a lot of your videos without even meaning to. you have a unique video structure and are very entertaining and sometimes when playing pokemon on my own, i leave some of your videos on as background noise-well, not really noise, because while youre entertaining to watch, youre also really relaxing to listen to. i think youtube algorithm did something right, so im subscribing now!
This video is a little old, but I like to come back to it when my anxiety peaks. Watching you play a game I don't own calms me down enough for me to lay down and get some sleep. You're really fun to watch. Maybe you could consider doing something like this when Sword and Shield release? You obviously don't have to, but that would be neat to see. I noticed I never subscribed to you, despite having been watching your videos for a good year now, I've fixed that. I always look forward to your new videos, I appreciate the work you put into what you post. Keep up that great work my man.
i very rarely leave comments on videos, and i know this one is fairly old by now but i wanted to leave one here anyway because seeing your whole experience w this game rly struck w me!! ive been binging your videos since you popped up in my recommended about a week ago and its some of the most fun ive had watching any poketuber for a while. your style of mixing real life footage with the game is really entertaining and relaxing. its made extra impactful for me because im also from louisiana, (i think somewhere vaguely around your area judging by your rare candy gauntlet lol) so it hits a little harder being able to appreciate the actual kind of environment you take walks in so much. people here have always used my love of pokemon since childhood to tease and berate me so seeing someone from here just as passionate as me is more important than i could word really haha, i seriously thought i was the only one i have a lot of anxiety and other mental things to deal with so usually most poketubers styles are too overwhelming or not distracting enough. we seem to share a lot of the same interests (hxh, the mother series - i love the mother 2 figures you have!! and pokemon of course) so it is really just the perfect kind of content to make me smile whenever things get too much. thank you for being so open and passionate and continuing to create such wonderful things and portraying any kind of place like la as something calming with fun sights when it usually seems so scary to me. its really special so i wanted to leave a nice couple of words. (sorry if any of this seems weird though lol its 4 am as i write this hence the over emotionalness)
This movie reminds me of how surprised I was when I found out the Alolan Champion was Matt Brandl! I was so shocked back then and had no idea who he was! Great movie, dude! Love the journey as always!
This was a really good video, I love the ending. Even though I'm watching it two years late xD I still really like the aspect of your real life events happening in the movie. It's just so fun to watch and actually a pleasure to experience it with someone else!
I knew what to do because I played The Stanley Parable Demonstration (demo for Stanley Parable) and learned about such a thing the hard way well before gen 7 existed.
I'm watching this less than a month from the release of sword and shield and gosh this is making me so hyped... I preordered the dual pack and I'm going to the early release at the Gamestop near me to get it. I'm gonna be dual hunting shiny Sobble to play through the game with a shiny starter!
I've rewatched this video, as well as a lot of your other movies, but specifically this one, many many times. I appreciate these a lot, they're my comfort videos. Thanks a ton for all the good stuff you put out there!
I was shiny hunting for a Rockruff watching this, and I got it way under odds! I like to think it was because I was watching this. And low-key this was so emotional to watch ngl.
I’m rewatching a lot of your movies and this made me pick up my copy of ultra moon and start it again! Having a blast rewatching all the movies you’ve made!
I love the style you bring to these videos, they’re homemade but it’s not to clean, but there’s so much passion put into it. With the little drawings, little sections at the beginning with other people’s journeys before sun and moon. Idk it’s just a lot of fun man, just lighthearted charm and a love for the games is all a video needs to be great. Love your work man
I had to pause the vid at 52 mins. I don't wanna spoil the story. I'm right at the part with the flutes. So far this has been super fun to watch. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making this. I can't wait til I finish the story so I can finish the vid.
The music is so nostalgic for some reason, even though I played it not even a year ago. I really love these games, even though I got bored of them after a while, SM/USUM are the best imo, I just love the atmosphere! The third generation used to be my favorite, but these games are better, not just because they have better graphics, but because I feel like I'm actually on a nice summer vacation, when playing. The characters are memorable aswell. I played through almost all the games, and I can't even remember the first gym leader's name from X and Y. I just love, how everyone has a personality and/or a backstory in this game. I miss it a lot, but maybe one day, I'll get a copy of ultra moon, and play through the whole thing with my friend. Maybe it's the lack of raids and raid events is why I got bored in the postgame. Maybe it's because I only played it on emulator. I still had fun staying up all night, searching for a Harvest mon that I can use, and I could never forget the team, that I use in every single pokemon game with slight changes. Flygon, Gardevoir, Incineroar, Persian, and two other pokemon, that always change. I still remember, when I made this team back when Pokemon Brick Bronze was a thing. The nostalgic cries, like Pelipper, Ribombee or Litleo. I used to be a Playstation person, my childhood games were Playstation games, I remember playing Spyro 2 in kindergarten, but I'll never forget the moment, when my ex-friend made me play a pokemon mmorpg, and watch the anime. He became very agressive and mean, but then again, he was the one, who made me join the fandom, without him, I would've never made this comment under this video, and I wouldn't be here, shiny hunting in Sword. This became a pretty long comment, but all I have to say is: Became a part of the fandom, *never* leaving the fandom.
That was an absolute blast to watch. The mix of your own life with gameplay footage made it so unique. You even got the nerves to film in the store. I don't get it that this got dislikes.
i rarely comment on stuff but, the sun movie being 6 (7 this year) years old already just, damn dude where did the time go? i basically grew up w the gauntlets/movies and stuff (started w the nincada thumbnail one) and it means alot that these are still going (given how apart of my childhood they were.) they really do capture the magic of mons. idk man just coming back to the movies sends me back to a time before all of this. i still remember christmas day of like 2017 where i got UM truly was magical. anyway! sincerely, thank you, one for starting this and for also continuing it to this day.
Gonna be making notes as I watch this: RIP SRing over 100 Poke balls in Moon ;_; AHH yes Toradora!! Aisaka the Tiger! For some reason I laughed at "Primo sleep nap" XD You get bonus points for using the instrumental version of "Tomorrow is Mine" during Kiawe's trial omg Also lost it at "Palkia...Giratina...and Bronzong" LOL I've now stopped the video to go watch your shiny Minior, Fearow, and Skarmory Your dad has a great laugh! I actually never noticed that the Mimikyu is hiding behind the fence when Acerola walks away!! That's so cool! I also never knew you could sit on Guzma's...throne? and trigger that NPC scene!! Amazing! I loved when the camera just cut to the MC being held by Machamp and you saying "Is this real?" LOL Nice use of Rumble music during the Kahili fight! And I love that her golf club's grip has the same colors as Toucannon's beak! Can we talk for a second about how well Primarina took that Bloom Doom from Shiinotic? What beastly Sp. Def! Your final team was really cool!! This movie was so fun to watch, especially since I was hunting for the first part of it! Great job on making it, and I can't wait for your future shinies and other uploads!!
Yesssssssssss I love comments like this. When I was editing, the primo sleep nap had me tickled way too much because I actually didn't recall filming that clip. Also I never noticed that Toucannon golf club :O Thanks so much for watching and for the notes as you did, Zach! So happy to hear you enjoyed it. I look forward to whatever you have in store for the future as well!
Your videos got me back into playing Pokémon again. Thank you and please keep it up. Fantastic quality content all around. I am binging your videos now.
Y'know after rewatching this (amazing) movie alongside playing ultra moon for the first time, I've really come to realize how much of an absolute gem generation 7 is! It has definitely become one if my favorites because of you, my own playthrough, and many other factors. The Alolan spirits have never felt higher! What an absolutely beautiful game and video.
This was 1 Year ago but i still think that it is very inportant to be educated, yes this is what a boomer would say but it is very very true, i hope you passed that test
These videos are amazing. They hold so much special feeling as it’s not just the game audio and his voice. It’s the world around him. Behind the screen and behind the camera. He’s there enjoying some games for the first time. Playing and learning stuff by now most know, it’s just incredible that he encaptured what makes new Pokémon games fun. Not the story, not the Pokémon. The first time you see everything. You see a z-move the first time. The first kahuna. The first totem. The first steps. And the first time saving that game.
Damn great video dude, I’m actually surprised I watched the whole thing, and seriously the fight against the nihilego lusamine and the emotion between her and Lillie, still gives me goosebumps even though I’ve seen it so many times And also I love how your team has like a bunch of barely used pokes on it, like literally who the heck uses a minior for the whole game 😂
This is why I like speed running, you get to experience someone experiencing something epic in a short amount of time. UA-cam needs more videos like this. I really enjoyed watching someone document their experience in something that is shorter than a let's play but still longer than a let's play.
I've wanted to watch this for 2 years now but told myself I had to finish sun first. I finally finished sun so now I get to watch it, I love your game movies I hope you make more in the future.
Honestly love your channel because of the personality of your videos. Adding in a pinch of reality with the gameplay just works. I wish you all the best with your channel!
I wonder if the fact that Kukui is the champion in Sun and Moon is in any way a reference to a hidden battle all the way back in Red and Blue. Where in those games, if you glitch/cheat your able to have a full-on battle with Professor Oak. I'm glad your finally able to battle a professor in these games though, and I like the way his battle theme resembles the opening to the Pokemon games. You had a really interesting team in this, and congrats on getting a shiny member for the team!
Its really nice to see this adventure again. Pokémon moon was my first Pokémon game, and the wave of nostalgia I felt when I heard the route 1 music was almost crippling. To think that I've gone from someone who had no idea what a shiny was to having almost 30 shiny Pokémon in 6 years is insane. I'm glad I found you, and I enjoy the content alot. Good luck with your endeavors.
You are the definition of a pokemon fan, I love seeing you enjoy all the new characters, pokemon and features. It really helps me look past small issues in pokemon games and truely love them. Keep it up Matt/Absol/☂️
I remember when these games were the shit looking back at this when sword and shield are out really makes me proud to see how much pokemon has come in just a few years love you gf, love you pokemon, love you nintendo
Man this has been out for 3 years and I’m only just getting to it. I’m loving these play throughs man. I think it’s really cool that you take your time with your adventures and try not to get spoiled. Keep it up man, I’m off to watch the rest of these
this video of yours in particular has always been one i come back to always. i absolutely love gen 7 and the best thing is that you chose my favorite pokémon ever, rockruff, to shiny hunt for your team! makes me smile every time.
I still can’t believe Sun and Moon has been out for 7 years. I still have my save file from 2016, started it on Christmas and poured over a hundred hours into it. I’ve picked it back up and it was just such a nostalgic experience
I love how you play the game and just tell a story. I really just enjoy watching people play a game for the first time and tell the story of it. It’s so exciting and you did a good job. I recently watched your scarlet play through. I wanted to watch more and subscribed
The Sun and Moon games get a bad rep because of the slow pacing which I understand is a valid complaint for multiple playthroughs but I really liked the cinematics of those games. The only thing missing is voice acting which maybe they'll finally get to in another 10 years lol.
Hey Matt! I just want to say that you make amazing content. I realize this video is almost six years old and that you probably won't see this video but you've gotten me to start a few things! One thing is that I used to do non-full odds hunt (Chain Fishing, Catch comboing and others) Until I watched you shiny badge quests and then I started a few full odds hunts. Another is that I've started exercising while listening to your videos because they tend to be long. I hope you can get to a million subscribers in the next year or two because you deserve it because of the amount of time you put into your videos.
This is a good video to come back and watch no mater how many times I watch this thing it’s too good memory’s because this was my first Pokémon game when I was 10
i literally just watched this thing from start to finish and i l LOVED IT! I love this game so much, so I love watching people play thru it and seeing their reactions to the game! Great job Matt :D
My experience: I got the games at the midnight release as well! They didn't have free pizza though :( but that's okay. I got home at about 12:30 and started playing Moon until about 1:30 and then went to sleep. I requested the day off from work a month prior to be able to play the game all day the next day, and I missed my one class that was that day (didn't miss much). I went back out on Saturday for the Target event with the free poster and Pikachu card. I completed the main game the day before Thanksgiving, and had all the Zygarde cells and cores and cells on Saturday after Black Friday. 5 minutes into this movie, I'm going to unpause it and attempt to get the last 40-ish Pokemon I need to complete the Alola Pokedex. And for Sun, well, I will play it sometime in the future.
Wow this was a blast to watch I'm gonna start up a new Ultra Moon and Sun save just because of this thank you Absol for this awesome movie and I hope we get a Sword and Shield sequel 🙂
29:45 woah it has become full circle! and if you think about it, Bronzong looks almost exactly like Aeceus, so that bookshelf also foreshadowed Pokémon Legends: Arceus woah woah
This is how many years old? Omg...I got my copy a few days after the release. Or maybe only a day after. Six years have passed and I haven't touched my safe file since completion. Now I want to replay this game. This video is the pure essence of Pokemon of that time. And it is so amazing=)
I know I’m fairly late, but I just wanted to leave a comment of appreciation. You have reinvigorated a burnt out Pokémon fan, and for that I thank you!!! You helped me pick back up my gameboy and go back at it! Time to fill up my living dex again! :P
Watching this, and discovering your channel 2 weeks before the release of Sword and Shield. I absolutely love your work, your patience, and how much you give to entertain us! Also, I love seeing all the amazing landscapes from where you live, it's just really peaceful watching you! Please keep on going like... forever? Love and support from Switzerland!
I loved sun and moon, it was the day my mother allowed me to go to a midnight release. I got to go with a friend and that just made my year. These games have a special place in my heart and I revisit it frequently because they are just such good games.
This has actually inspired me to pick up my Ultra Moon that I never got past the third island due to boredom and play through the game and enjoy it. Thanks man!
You're one of those rare youtube gems that doesn't rely on offensiveness or rudeness or loudness to get attention, just hard work, and I really value that about you. Keep up the good work.

They really doubled down on this idea too in the recent Pokemon Journeys episode about her!
Also Lusamine looks like pheramosa
Man, I freaking love Sun and Moon. Even years later, revisiting the story feels so rewarding
Watching these movies as scarlet and violet approach, and they have truly stood the test of time and encapsulate the pokemom experience. Can't wait for new movies to come in the future, keep it up absol!
They really do capture a pure essence of what being a Pokémon fan is
Honestly this movie has made me want to start a new file and replay the entire game
I did that with ultra moon
Yeah, but I just managed to complete the games Pokedex. Might as well take a picture of it's completion then restart it.
i dont have sm but have usum means my ultra sun
Yeah but I can't my file almost perfect
I did that with moon i did an all pseudo legend team

Damn great video dude, I’m actually surprised I watched the whole thing, and seriously the fight against the nihilego lusamine and the emotion between her and Lillie, still gives me goosebumps even though I’ve seen it so many times
And also I love how your team has like a bunch of barely used pokes on it, like literally who the heck uses a minior for the whole game 😂
This is why I like speed running, you get to experience someone experiencing something epic in a short amount of time. UA-cam needs more videos like this. I really enjoyed watching someone document their experience in something that is shorter than a let's play but still longer than a let's play.
Pokemon Sun and Moon some of the best Pokemon games compared to the others, cheers!
Any chance you'll be doing this for ultra sun/moon? Love these videos
Owen Womsee Thank you!! Maybe some day in the future. I do have another one of these in the works for an older game right now :D
@@AbsolBlogsPokemon are you still working on it?
@@AbsolBlogsPokemon 😳
I’ve already seen most of these, but lately I’ve been putting them on during my workouts, and it’s been really nice. Love these videos!
I killed tons of level 10 salamences when hunting for a shiny bagon XD
Gotta hunt for the shiny salamance
@@thechurchofshulkanism1077 no...
Potato Potato yes.
Me, when I realized I could have had a salamence but the bagon only call for shellgon: ._________.
Lol I found the Shiny Bagon before a Salamence
I've wanted to watch this for 2 years now but told myself I had to finish sun first. I finally finished sun so now I get to watch it, I love your game movies I hope you make more in the future.
Tbh i love how sumo/usum had us all bond with nebby to the point i see people referring to any and all cosmogs AS nebby
Love this video! It makes me want to play the game a WHOLE lot more than usual! Thank you 😊
Honestly love your channel because of the personality of your videos. Adding in a pinch of reality with the gameplay just works. I wish you all the best with your channel!
He is still hearting comments, this is the peak of youtube. You deserve much more subscribers.
I remember randomly stumbling across this and just falling asleep to matts soothing voice still an absoulte gem 7yrs later (pretty much 8)
Here I am 3 years after this began watching this to waste time until Sword and Shield
Hi
Its really nice to see this adventure again. Pokémon moon was my first Pokémon game, and the wave of nostalgia I felt when I heard the route 1 music was almost crippling. To think that I've gone from someone who had no idea what a shiny was to having almost 30 shiny Pokémon in 6 years is insane. I'm glad I found you, and I enjoy the content alot. Good luck with your endeavors.
58:16 the movement syncs up perfectly with the music!
Unpopular Opinion: Now that Gen 5 is getting the recognition it deserves, Gen 7 is the most underrated and unappreciated generation.
I love gen 7. Moon was my first main series pokemon game ever.
@@lepyti me too. gen 7 is easily my favourite gen
The Solgaleo/Lunala theme :O
I love your videos man. The uniqueness and realness really makes them stand out a lot. One of my favorite youtubers!
Coming back to this video is pure nostalgia. This is what introduced me to your content, and I haven't left the channel since!
That subtle “I found my 6th team mate” was just so wholesome
This is one of those videos where I can watch it again and again and honestly still really enjoy it I can't wait to watch it again
I remember battling the raticate and then in the middle I had to go to bed, so the next morning I woke up super early to Finnish the battle
Jeez can’t believe this was 6 years ago, anyways I really love these movie videos. Keep up the great work Absol!
Man this has been out for 3 years and I’m only just getting to it. I’m loving these play throughs man. I think it’s really cool that you take your time with your adventures and try not to get spoiled. Keep it up man, I’m off to watch the rest of these
I love the use of Undertale music in this
this video of yours in particular has always been one i come back to always. i absolutely love gen 7 and the best thing is that you chose my favorite pokémon ever, rockruff, to shiny hunt for your team! makes me smile every time.
19:29 So that's why galarian Meowth is steel type...
The way you used "Tears in The Rain" from Undertale, fit soooo perfectly. Its also great background music!
Been playing Pokémon and it’s been a tradition of mine for 3 years now to watch your videos while playing ❤ much love
I still can’t believe Sun and Moon has been out for 7 years. I still have my save file from 2016, started it on Christmas and poured over a hundred hours into it. I’ve picked it back up and it was just such a nostalgic experience
I love coming back to your old videos, I watch them whilst I do boring work stuff 😆
I love how you play the game and just tell a story. I really just enjoy watching people play a game for the first time and tell the story of it. It’s so exciting and you did a good job. I recently watched your scarlet play through. I wanted to watch more and subscribed
20:08 Those rolls are the best!
Great video dude! Im surprised you didnt find a shiny while hunting for the bagon or sos'ing for salamence!
I forgot how good the music was
The Sun and Moon games get a bad rep because of the slow pacing which I understand is a valid complaint for multiple playthroughs but I really liked the cinematics of those games. The only thing missing is voice acting which maybe they'll finally get to in another 10 years lol.
man it's been so long since I've watched a video of yours, but man do I love each and every one of them. keep up the good work man
Thanks so much!!! I'll do my best
Watching Absol movies while playing pokemon is the best way to play pokemon❤
These are always bangers since you see him do what he wants in his videos and I just like watching them while playing a Pokémon game
Suddenly have the urge to play through the Gen 7 games again for some reason
The occasional Golden Sun music really is the cherry on top. Good taste
one of my all time favorite RPGs!!
A chill corner of the internet

And it's also at 50:39
I saw the poster of Gon and Killua so I hit like straight away!
Thanks so much, Morgan!!! Means a lot to me to hear that!
Jcool I beat the game on Thanksgiving
Wow you really did grind
These videos are so great to watch! I love these pokemon movies, I hope he never stops!
Wow this was a blast to watch I'm gonna start up a new Ultra Moon and Sun save just because of this thank you Absol for this awesome movie and I hope we get a Sword and Shield sequel 🙂
thanks so much!!! there will be
@@AbsolBlogsPokemon Awesome I can't wait 🙂
What is the music Absol uses for the Kahili fight at 1:14:30? I really wanna find it and listen to it
29:45 woah it has become full circle! and if you think about it, Bronzong looks almost exactly like Aeceus, so that bookshelf also foreshadowed Pokémon Legends: Arceus woah woah
I think that was the most beautiful intro I’ve ever watched in my entire life
A couple days ago I started playing Pokémon sun And while I was level grinding I found a shiny mudbray, named it mustard and added it to my team.
Nice
shoutout to you for taking walks during your videos unlike some of us who shamelessly lock our self in a room and don’t come out for three years
This is how many years old? Omg...I got my copy a few days after the release. Or maybe only a day after. Six years have passed and I haven't touched my safe file since completion. Now I want to replay this game. This video is the pure essence of Pokemon of that time. And it is so amazing=)
May wanna transport your old team first, but I'd recommend it. ^^
thank you, this is a very nice and thoughtful recommendation=) @@mistahjenkins4826
I know I’m fairly late, but I just wanted to leave a comment of appreciation. You have reinvigorated a burnt out Pokémon fan, and for that I thank you!!! You helped me pick back up my gameboy and go back at it! Time to fill up my living dex again! :P
Awesome to hear that!! Good luck catching them all!
Great vacation video, but why did you have the music so loud, that scared the crap out of me
I loved sun and moon, it was the day my mother allowed me to go to a midnight release. I got to go with a friend and that just made my year. These games have a special place in my heart and I revisit it frequently because they are just such good games.
I love the music thanks for this to waste some time during school stuff I already know
I love the way you make all of your videos, got me into shiny hunting recently too. Thanks man :)
This has actually inspired me to pick up my Ultra Moon that I never got past the third island due to boredom and play through the game and enjoy it. Thanks man!
