At one point you will have to break down Hideaway I feel like a lot of us would be really interested since it’s now a classic of yours (and ofc breakdown all of yours songs as well) 😂
Jacob, I can confirm that your opening vocalization of the rhythm sounds like "koto koto" in Japanese--but more accurately, it captures the sound of simmering (not sizzling) food, as warm and comforting as the sound of your music!
I suspect the peek you give behind the curtain gives many of us courage to create without overthinking ourselves. It's indisputable that your command of music inspires many of us. But it's your willingness to fearlessly commit your work, and show us what you did and how you did it, that really makes you a wonderful spirit guide to those of us who also dabble in music. Thank you for your generosity and openness. Hope your throat feels better soon, and wishing you the happiest Christmas.
So generous, so authentic you are, Mr. Collier. We received this video as a wonderful gift! May the academy jury members of the 2020 Grammy Award's watch your Logic Sessions Breakdown before voting. This is my wish for the new year. We love you !
Incredible again! You are a unique composer, arranger and instrumentalist. Parts of your arrangements bring me to tears (not of sadness but of pure beauty). You are a great promise for the future! Merry Christmas!
just listend to the original again.. not sure if ive missed a part but jacob never really touches on the incredible stereo depth this mix has. if you close your eyes it wraps sooo far around your head it gave me shivers.. also some parts where alvins bass voice is extremly off to the side, some bass riffs in the middle then some silence and BAM voice and bass in the middle - so powerful! wow
@@jhakardballoch2986 It's in South Africa, a station called 567 AM. They usually play music from like the 1950s-1980s, but I think since this was a cover of a song from that period they played it.

I was watching this on my tv with a chromecast, which is next to my piano, and when Jacob played the piano solo, my piano just looks at me with the same expression as a disappointed parent
Really loving these, Jacob, can’t wait for Djesse volume 3! I get to have my headphones on for work so 8 hours of my day are spent pretty much indulging in all 3 of your albums over and over.
He plays just 4 out 300 tracks and that sounds like a different hit beat on its own (1:07:14 & 1:12:13) ! There are like so many going on at the same time! Mind blowing...
Jacob, in a time of uncertainty, I feel very grateful to be alive at the same time as a person like you! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, passion and pure living spirit for music. Merry Christmas.
Why did Jacob saying "fuck it" bring me so much joy (also I said to my trumpet teacher that the time I swear the most is while dealing with technology, practising or both, and while torturing myself with my own perfectionism, so "relatable", as the kids say)
I know people throw the word genius around a lot but Jesus in a musical and producing field you so are one matey . I could talk to you for hours .. keep making these magical journeys .. 😘
This guys speaking about procrastination and acquiring new skills is the best thing I’ve heard in a while:) . As always unbelievably valuable contribution Jacob
Jacob! I have noticed you love doing music with the greatest known musicians in the world, but now you have become the greatest! Have you ever considered doing a track with a lesser known artist? I know this girl who is a REALLY great singer and writes absolutely gorgeous lyrics that can really be felt if listened to… Would you ever consider doing a single record with her? She is incredibly amazing at what she does and I know it would change the course of her entire life forever. If you’re interested in hearing some of her music, Please Please Please! reach out! You are the most incredible artist that has ever existed on earth, I don’t know about the rest of the universe though.
8:00 Jacob, you can port Finale Files to Sib via MusicXML. Next time ask your transcriber to port it in that format, and you can edit and return it via the same format. I do this quite often with my copiers (I use Finale, they extract and edit in Sib).

Would be really interesting to hear that.
I feel exactly the same way about procrastination and waiting last minute, I do that with a lot of my final projects for school. But they come out better for some reason.
Just clicking the like-thumb is not enough. I really LIKE this video. It should be watched at least a million times, by kids (also the older ones like me:) that create music with a daw.
I wish you were doing a gig in Brighton, almost all of my friends would 100% come, but not all of us can go to the London one. Also this is like a wonderful christmas present
So many questions. No direct way of posing them. It sounds so different in your mix to the actual release i've been listening to for the last gawd knows how long. The master must've been significant, did you master it too? Btw, thanks for the master compression automation tip! Keep doing what you do Jacob man, there's a world full of love for you!
