I read through the comments to see where Steve passed away some time ago. I'm so sorry for your loss. I periodically come across his videos. God bless you, Ms. Sheila.
What a beautiful recipe, I like how they came out! You did a great job I’ve recently started buying these little birds and making delicious cheap meals out of them! But I just bake them in the oven, watching you do it gives me confidence thank you much!
I’ve been deep frying my Cornish hens for awhile and I always know they’re done when they float to the top. Usually about 10 min. I’m going to use your injection recipe.
Thank you for this amazing recipe. I wanted something different for Thanksgiving, and I think this is a winner. I have a grandson who is allergic to peanut oil. What other oil can I use to deep fry my hens?
Steve passed away Dec 29th 2018. I don't remember him saying the temp of oil when he put the hens in. I would drop some cornmeal in and if it starts sizzling drop them in. 😊
Sorry bout Steve. I just was looking up how to cook frozen Cornish hens from Walmart. Says oven but saw this deep fry from Steve. Seemed like good guy . I think said he passed in 2018 or 19 . Sorry for your loss . I just lost my Mom Nov 28th 2021. She realky wanted to eat Cornish hen but unfortunately died at rehab place after being in hospital. :( Anyway gonna try this . I put I fridge at 9 pm so should be thawed by 7 pm tomorrow I would think. Can I do these frozen or not recommended ?
Old video I know. But I used this recipe to cook six Cornish hens in my big deep fryer for last Thanksgiving (3 at a time). Man they came out so juicy, the marinade was excellent. Even the left overs we had tasted so good.
If you buy a fresh Cornish hen, you should plan on cooking or freezing it within 24 hours. ... If this is done properly, the Cornish hens can be stored in the freezer at 0 F for 6 to 9 months. Cooked Cornish hens can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen up to a week
I know the question was asked months ago but have seen several others ask. Do not try to deep fry one that is frozen. You will get an explosion of boiling oil and steam and if your fryer has a flame that will ignite everything.

They are so yummy! Let me know if you give this recipe a try!
That “big opening” in the spice jars is actually to be able to stick in you measuring spoon and wipe it flat on the way back out.
Thanks for the vid!
I really miss this guy! Happy Thanksgiving Ms. Sheila to you and your entire family
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well❤️

Thank you , great receipt, where can I buy your deep fryer
Bass Pro is where Steve got his.
Doing this tonight. Question.. is it ok to store fryer outside with oil left in it . We live in florida
Steve would leave the oil in the fryer. He would strain it.
Thank you for your beautiful delicious recipe yum 😋👍🌹👋
Most welcome 😊
My bayou lid says to keep lid opening while frying. Just curious if that fryer recommends the Same. Great cooking!
Thanks for watching!!!
Did you start them at room temperature or cold?
Room temperature 👍😊
Appreciate your video and hard work. Trying this for Christmas season. What temp for the oil?

So 9 minutes seems the best time
Chef, you should buy a thermapen instant read thermometer. You can get them on sale for about 60 bucks. They are the best.
I think he got one before he passed away December 29th 2018
What kind of oil did you use?
Peanut oil! 👍😃

I’d do it at cold not frozen

Steve said the temperature was 350° for the deep fryer
Can you put them in frozen ?

@@CookingwithShotgunRed I asked if you can out frozen gens in deep fryer or do they have to be defrosted
Not frozen but very cold

Yummmmm
Chicken wings take 12 minutes at 350.
That whole bird will take atleast 15-18 minutes
You need to go teach Josh’s mom a thing or three
那就可以炸整條魚太人性了
能炸雞就能炸整條魚鱸魚
Sauce再回溫就OK
魚烤完sauce 淋上去OK
🍻
It takes 12/15 min
Stir fry the seasoning first
