This is the video I have been waiting for. Thanks Nate for helping Jes create this fabulous tour. I have over 280 different varieties of Hosta in my gardens and I always love watching other gardeners talk about Hostas. I have been gardening with Hosta's since 1991. Throughout the years my favorites have changed. But my all time favorites are Sum and Substance, June, Empress Wu, Cool as a Cucumber, Guacamole, and Night Before Christmas. I also have 22 Minis..... with Time in a Bottle being my favorite mini. If you are not a member of AHS ( American Hosta Society) you might be interested. The amount of info and data there is a game changer.
Your use of other shade tolerant plants really compliment your Hosta collection and is a reminder to me to add more to my gardens.
Again thank you both for the tour and inspiration.

Good job cameraman Nate. Your garden looks A - Mazing Jes !! You should quiz Natey one night see how many Hosta names he knows and ask him his faves Do you have many slugs and snails ? 🐌🐌 I only have one Hosta, I think it is Great Expectations looking at your one, I had forgotten the name. buit I knew it had something to do with Dickens. It does not seem to grow very big, may need a bit of attention. ps "Bikini" Hosta next to the pool ! They go together too 😆. 💚🤍💚

So how long does it take for your Blue Angel hostas to get giant? The biggest one you said has been in the ground a lot longer… how long? I’m trying to plan my shade garden and wondering how long it will take to get large.

I am wanting to start my own “gulley”. Would you suggest just start tearing into the undergrowth with a shovel, would you just put down cardboard and then put new soil over it? What would you do. I wish I could send you a picture of my yard to get your opinion. I just want to go get a bunch of clearance hosta from my meijer a get going! Thank you for the beautiful tour of your yard every day!!❤❤❤

Loved the hosta tour! I love collecting hostas too! I have approx 75 different varieties, but many are still small! Two of my fav that i don’t think you have are the Blue ivory (has halcyon in its genetics) and the Bridal falls is a large stunning one with a very different leaves form. Also, your green hosta that is close to your curly fries maybe it’s from a seed from the curly fries and it is showing one of the sport that was used to create curly fries! It seems to have the same long leaves just like it! Hostas are so much fun! :)

I stayed & watched the whole video bc I really loved your way, your accent , your voice, your super layed back vibe & the sound your flip-flops made. LOL! Your vast & diverse collection really inspired me & got my wheels spinning. I think it would be cool to see 1 giant hosta, like Sum & Substance encircled with a bunch of those little Mouse Ears. As for the bunny problem, maybe you should plant a separate garden of “bunny favorites” as a divergence further away somewhere. 😂🐰 🥕 🥬

Thank you Jes for the wonderful Hosta tour. My garden is now predominately in the shade so have planted numerous Hosta over the years (not as many as you of course). Unfortunately, by August, the leaves are completely eaten by slugs . I've tried various methods like beer traps and slug baits without success . Your hosta always look so healthy. I started with three Patriot hostas, and two Big Daddy hostas, a goatsbeard, astilbes, coreopsis, and rudbeckia. Of course, there's too many to remember!
