- In todays video we compare the more new school bigger wheel setup to the "old school" smaller wheel/bigger sidewall setup! I enjoy both styles and think different trucks look great with each one! Let me know which style you prefer in the comments!

I like the fatter tire smaller wheel set up I think those wheels would look super good on baby squat if they were 17-18s and black

They’re more functional, better ride, better performance off and on-road, and the “Bubba” truck look you refer to on the newer truck is 100% more “grown ass man’s truck” looking than that spindly tiny sidewall on the black rim. EXCELLENT VIDEO! Thank you so much !
I grew up in the 80's and EVERYONE had small wheels with giant tires. I just think it looks better.

Small wheels with giant tires actually perform off road. I think the big wheels is for people who never leave the pavement...
The more sidewall the better ride quality from what i hear and also cheaper tire replacement from what ive been quoted. Please correct me if im wrong but bring proof!
Back when you had 3 choices of 16.5 wheels, white wagon wheels, chrome wagon wheels or aluminum slots.
I personally like the bullet holes on the new body for the simple fact that nobody really runs them anymore.

Old school with a big sidewall is better for off-roading. I would run an 18" instead of a 16" rim

I've always been a small wheel big tire guy. Biggest I've ever ran was 20 inch wheels but had to have 35's wrapped on em. Right now I've got 17's with 33's. That's just my opinion though. Keep the good content coming man!

You should throw at least a 5 inch lift on baby squat to change it up. Oh yeah and some 35’s
5 inch lift only in the front is was he means😉
That would cause major rubbing in the fenders when turning if he kept those 12 wides with -44 offset and put 35's on them. Would look sick of course but you need at least a 7 inch lift or more to clear those specs.

I honestly hated big wheels on trucks, but I’ve grown to actually dig them! ( depends on the set up )

No contest at all 16 inch wheels all day every day. It is stupid to have 20-22 inches of rim and 2-3 inches of tire.

I hate ford but that you’ll be calling “Bubba” every time you try to drive your pavement princess in the mud or on the beach to come pull you out. I left My 78 Jeep (35x12.50 15s) truck in first gear on the beach and crawled out on the hood ghost crawled past guys with big wheels/low pros stuck on the beach.

If you actually put the correct width tire on those wheels, it would look better, drive better, the tires would last a lot longer AND you wouldn’t have curb rash problems.
Just bought a brand new 22 Explorer and it has 21 inch wheels on it I’d like a half an inch sidewall I would like to put the smallest wheel I can on it and the biggest tire I cannot to help the ride would you happen to know of a chart or how I can find out what rim or wheel will fit on it it does have the oversize big red brake calipers but there’s 2 inches a space between the brake and the rim that’s on it now so I’m sure I can do something better do you have any suggestions?
Im trying ro find 16 rims for my 2009 Ford F150 so I can take the 16 in riew KO2 from my 2002 chevy and put on the Ford rims. I am research 16 rims on the Ford trying to see who has done what I want to do. I want the fat sidewall

What is this tire for the ford called? Like there’s a name for it and I have stock rims on my 02 but I want beefier tires on it without changing the rims.

I've seen bigger wheels on tundra tdr pro compared to the regular tundra sr. Does wheel size matter for offroad?
I’d go with a 18 inch. It improves ride quality.
Throw those black wheels on the Ford back it up 40 ft. And set it on fire.
Larger wheels = car shows + horrible ride
Smaller wheels = better ride + daily driver

Ill save everyone time, if its going to see any dirt go for a smaller rim, if its a pavment princess than whatever you figure looks better, but do not go offroading if you go for big wheels you will have major issues and damage your wheel or tire
Hey man do you know a good brand wheel that's like the once on Larry but with a bigger hub cap. I wanted to buy a 2017 Silverado and put something like that on 33s. Depending on the color of the truck I will be going black to chrome wheels. And what exactly what you call the kind if wheel. Because I want that kind of look with 17inch rims
I’ve got those ion alloys on my 05 2500 Chevy. Sprayed them black. I went through several 20s and never liked the look. I wanna be able to drive anywhere. 20-22s ain’t made for that.

I like the rims on the F150 and the taller sidewall tires. Better ride quality better off road capability and not having to worry about scuffing your wheels. I'm not big into modding trucks by putting any big wheel and tire setup on them but despite what might be the "In thing" I know I want my truck to function over form. Got 31x10.5r15s on my Ranger and if set at the right psi ya really get to take advantage of that sidewall and have a good ride quality. Can't imagine how shitty the ride would be with say 19 inch rims and low profile tires. Not for me. So ya I like the old school setup. Give me less wheel and more tire.

Since you mentioned the Gladiator X comp, have you seen the federal xplora mt....it’s different...if I got a Tesla cyber truck I would run xplora mts
305/70s are supposed to be 33x12 even and 285/75s is supposed to be 33x11.5.

Great vid, really loved the weigh-in! Most often I hear the exact opposite, "more rubber-bigger tire, more weight." Here is my question, the 94K Q! how is the ride? Which tire and how big a difference is the ride quality?" smooth and cushy or buckboard bob? Think you will have to do a full swap to really end this debate, will need to have the same suspension for both tires to know its not the sus-set-up.
