Espetacular ! A melhor versão das Variations on a Theme by Mozart no UA-cam.
Love this as sell as your other stuff. You are my biggest inspiration to continue studying at age 66. God bless you.
Edson, you are, by far my favorite guitarist. I've been playing for a quarter of a century. You're interpretation of the variations is my "happy place." Just wanted to let you know. When I'm having a bad day, I listen to this song, and it makes me smile. Be well, my friend.
I could watch and listen to you all day and all night. There is something remarkable and unique in the way you play your music and it sets you apart from the hoards of players who just play notes correctly. You're a inspiration and the fun you get from playing is infectious. Bravo.
gratitudine,
Quito.
Mr Lopez music has taste, has color, has nuance, has technic. he is deffinitely one of the best in the world.
Just beautiful, and I love the space and unique dynamics you bring to it. Bravo! Warm regards from Detroit!
🌈👍
Thank you for posting this. I'm going to learn this piece now. Knowing me, it will take at least a year and I've been playing 50 years!
amazing
Fantastic! Hard to find people who play with expressiveness and some variation. I'm a fan.
What would Mozart think about that? To my mind, he would probably be fascinated with the guitar and If he could, he would compose for this instrument... I can imagine all of this... unfortunately this will not happen soon ahahaah. However, I can thank you for posting this and for having such a great performance. I loved your interpretation, it is very colorful! Thanks again!
I think the problem during Mozart's life was there just wasn't a demand for music for the guitar, at least not in Vienna that I know of. Had Mozart been in Spain, I could imagine he might've written a lot of great works for the guitar. Most of the works Mozart wrote were either in a style that was popular at the time, or to showcase a solo musicians talents. It's quite interesting that no works exist for the guitar, I don't even think Mozart wrote anything for the lute either, which was a little more common in Baroque repertoire, but by Mozart's time might've been considered old fashioned. Then there's the issue of sound, Mozart wrote pieces of music meant for smaller gatherings, but these were often pieces written for the clavichord or other instruments that weren't as loud as a horn might've been. Perhaps in an alternate universe, Mozart lived to be 80, and met someone like Sor and became quite fascinated with the instrument.
@@EyeShotFirst Yes Mozart wrote a piece for Ben Franklin's Glass Harmonica which Ben invented. I has a wonderful sound but can get at some people especially as it great a sounding eerie if one wishes. Mozart's piece is great. Mozart did write four works for Lute. From reading at Mozart time guitar was considered a lower class instrument. As Mozart wrote a ton of his stuff on commision no request for guitar no works for it. Also seams like no great guitar works had been made or great players had rose to prominence. And Guitar yet another sting instrument not this new never anything like it Glass Harmonica by the known super genius Frankland who was known to all of upper class.
Magnificent. I really wasn't expecting it. I've listened almost all of the interpretations on UA-cam and this one is in top 3 for sure, on the level of Williams, just a bit shy of Segovia's one. Chapeau maestro!
Bravo! One of the most difficult pieces of Sor's to play and yet your interpretation and technique make it wonderful to listen to - we're trully thankful for your work and time
put into it. I admire you as a former student of my most admirable guitarist, Andres Segovia
Przem Dz Thank you
Splendid version! It is absolutely fascinating to see how many interpretations there is for this piece and how each performer brings something personal and beautiful to it!
What a amazing cover of my favorite piece.
this song feels illegally underated, even so its soo beautiful, catch, rememberable, and peaceful...
Amazing work, keep it up~
Marvelous. Whenever Edson Lopes has recorded a piece I wish to learn. I listen to his interpretation first.
So very beautiful. Thank you so much. I'm making a list of the very best performances of a few of the most beautiful music I've ever heard to be used at my memorial service where I want the theme to be beautiful things in this life, rather than sadness.
Very nice! Great sound, great balance - by far the best interpretation of this piece I've heard. Keep up the good work and many thanks for posting!
A wide repertoire, unlimited skill, and great style...that is Edson!
Grandissimo!
Wonderful interpretation! I forget the virtuosity and enjoy the music and your playing pleasure.
Best wishes,

Amazing, iam simply swept off my feet, I have no words. Great performance, awesome, Great guitarist, accomplished he is. Love to listen him playing all day long.
I'm studying this brano, can I appreciate the extreme precision of your execution. This contribute it's really important for my practice. Thanks maestro!
I have only been following you for a month but wish l had heard of you a long time ago love your playing

Pretty Good Master Edson Lopes , Muy Bien !
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you, Edson
Belíssima interpretação!!!
It has been more than 30 yrs since I stopped playing the guitar.
I used to practice the same piece when I went to university.
Your playing reminds me of my happiest school time. Thanks a lot.
Wonderful performance. It inspires me to work harder on my playing. I hope to one day play half as well as you. It's nice to see someone expressing such joy in both their mannerisms and their playing. This is the performance of someone who truly loves music and the guitar.
Wow, breathtaking, wonderful rendition!
Primorosa execução! Lirismo no "canto", definição clara dos acordes, baixos e domínio timbristico no instrumento. Bravo!!!
Beautiful !!! I've never heard it played better than this.
This is simply wonderful

Beautiful
i don't think it's possible to play the finale without dancing and smiling
There is something about this man that’s different than all the other great players. I realize he has his PhD and is a professor of classical guitar. There’s more to him than that, as if that were not enough. I believe many, including me, can hit a note. Sometimes we hide an individual note for whatever reason. Dr. Lopes makes every note seem personal and distinct. I hear everything he’s playing. He has something that can not be taught or practiced. It’s within him and I believe that’s why he’s so good. If you add in his education, years of practice and a complete mastery of every song he plays, you end up with a great guitarist. Without his instinct and feel for every note I believe he would simply be just another guitarist like the rest of us. Yes, I’m aware of the 1,000’s of hours he’s played is his solid foundation. Regardless, he is encouragement and I appreciate every note he plays. I can not say that about all guitarist.
Muito obrigado pelas suas considerações
Edson Lopes Seja bem-vindo.

Thank you
responsibly played. Beautiful art. Hope you are well, Edson.
very fantastic!!!!!
Really great playing. Bravo Sir.
Ever since I was a boy , I’ve always dreamt of playing this song, being my second semester into school; my guitar instructor is having me play this for my juries coming up next week. Needless to say, I’ve finally learned how to play this truly magnificent and intense piece. It’s not perfect, but I have it all memorized and that’s what makes me happy the most.
what a fireworks ! i love it
How could four 'dislikes' be so wrong and four hundred and sixty-two 'likes' be so right? Easy with this level of performance.
I just love Mozart ... and Sor too! My only 'dislike' is that I don't know who the luthier is?
Thanks for posting this video on a piece which I am studying!
